The Holly Bobo Murder

I'm not sure this is where to put this but I couldn't find a thread re case of the 2011 murder of Holly Bobo.
There were several arrests and three convictions on the case and I'm currently watching the one prosecution that went to trial.
Anyway, I'm interested to know whether anyone is aware of the case or is familiar it and would share their thoughts.

I googled for it the other day and came up with nothing but homes for sale. Does anyone know the address? That would make it a lot easier to get one.

Interesting. It doesn't show her home/abduction location though does it? It does show all else.
It does if you click on the link and slightly enlarge it. More detail and descriptions show up. I'll do two enlargements and screenshots Screenshot_20251204-165704_Samsung Internet.webp

One screenshot for the top of the map and one for the bottom. The "abduction site" is her home.

I went into the link and everything. I just must not have moved enough although I did some. THANK YOU.

Turkey hunting makes more sense than deer by far. Seems odd to me bf would be hunting and perp would have a deer caller. Seems to be too much hunting theme here and deer would not be hunted in April. Looked it up just now, they aren't hunted in April in TN. I guess they could call deer just to want to see them lol. Why the heck is everyone hunting? Also it wasn't even a weekend was it? If Holly had school and the parents had work, I'd think it was a weekday. Just all odd to me that everyone is in the woods and hunting and in camo and so on and so on.

Then she is found in the woods elsewhere. Yeah they could have known of it that way but doesn't explain them having the deer caller (if indeed it was that) at Holly's.

I know I'm stuck on the hunting thing but it is just ODD that everyone is in the woods somewhere and/or has hunting stuff. In April. On a weekday.
He didn't say it made sense to him that the boyfriend- or anyone else- would be carrying around a deer caller, I mean, he knew the boyfriend was hunting turkey.

It was a Wednesday and the boyfriend had work that morn at 8am, which is where I think he actually was at that time.

You have to click on the link to load it and then enlarge the map to see it. Put your fingers on the map and spread the fingers apart and it enlarges and more shows up.

It doesn't work on the screenshots - I had already enlarged the original, so all the descriptions showed, then I did the two screenshots. The enlargement wouldn't fit on my screen.

I thought the bf was hunting and Holly told her mom he'd been confronted for being on the land? And you said her last call was to her mom?

Man I am getting confused. If the old thread existed I think I'd read it from start to finish to ground myself on this one.

I saw it now in your screen shots. I appreciate you doing that by the way. Just wanted to see it in relation to everything else and now I have.

So from the map he took her quite a long way if he abducted her from the garage. He would have had to travel down the long road North to the main road then east to the rape location. Then further east to the murder location and then drive back west again to where her long house drive joins the main road. Her body was found opposite there on a neighbour property. He possibly dumped the phone and Simcard at some point maybe after the rape. Seems a bit of a roundabout trip when he could have just dumped the body in the water. Maybe he needed to get rid of her phone before dumping her body.

There's so much that can throw one off in this case.

The one guy said he saw her sitting in the guy's house (was it the brother that said that, not sure). So was she immediately raped and murdered? I guess that's where the timeline and phone come in. to prove it as the "stories" confuse.

I think the boyfriend must have been hunting earlier that morn and then before Holly left for school, texted her about having been confronted and then Holly called her mother about it, which was her last call and I think that was at about 7:40am.

FYI, Holly's phone was disabled by the removal of the sim card at 9:25am.
It was the same location where her lunchbox was found the next day, and then sometime later, her notebook was found in that same area, having washed up on the creekbank. (I think it had rained on that Thursday.)

While I did follow this case closely until the end of the trial, I don't tend to keep up with cases after sentencing. My memory is already hazy on this case, so forgive me if I am not recalling correctly. What I recall is that her brother saw her leaving with someone in camo and he thought it was a friend or bf, can't remember which. I don't recall him hearing a scream. I thought that came from a neighbor only?
I had to refresh mine, believe me. My memory was always good. Well....Short term definitely not!!!!!

You know what? I think it'd be helpful to describe the property as I understand it.
The Bobo's lived on 23 acres and from the road, their house was at the back of the property and the property line was at the edge of the woods.
Their driveway led from the front of the house the house to the back where there was a detached garage and carport.
Holly's father always parked out in front of the house, and Holly and her mother always parked under the carport. Now, I don't know or recall where her brother always parked but I know that it had been a while since it was possible to park in the garage because it had been used for something else but on this particular morning, his vehicle was parked in the garage.

The routine was that both of Holly's parents would leave for work before she left for nursing school. I don't remember when her brother would leave for work but I'm sure the fact that his vehicle was out of sight in the garage made the perp think that Holly was the only one home.
TYVM for the information. :nodding:

Hunters found Holly's remains. The perp(s) did not reveal it, according to Wiki.

In September 2014, Bobo's partial remains were found by ginseng hunters in a wooded area of northern Decatur County, Tennessee, just off I-40, nearly 20 miles (32 km) from Darden.[33][2][34] The owner of the property, Gary Tubbs, said it was not uncommon for people to hunt there without permission.[35] Larry Stone, one of the men who found the remains, said he saw a large bucket in the woods, which he upturned. Beneath the bucket, he found a human skull.[36] He then spotted Bobo's remains spread on the ground behind him.[34][37] Investigators recovered Bobo's skull and teeth, several ribs, and one shoulder blade.[38] Her skull had a bullet hole in the back of it; the bullet entered the back-right side of her head and traveled to the front-left side, fracturing her left cheekbone when it exited.[39]

I remember a TON of rumors about her being held alive after her abduction swirled around prior to her being found. I think the perps talked to quite a few people and the rumors were passed around.

I took a stroll through articles written regarding this case before Holly was found. Here's a link where some are mentioned in one spot, which was convenient.

Hunting before work and confronted before work all before 8 a.m. when he had to be to work.

I'm not suspecting him necessarily, I would think they cleared him, it is just that some of these things are so odd to me. I've been around die hard hunters and can't imagine a one of them even doing that. Must have been some big Tom turkey he was after or something. Our land had a ton of turkeys. My BIL and his son would often stop and ask to hunt it, on WEEKENDS. They were obsessed but never went before work lol. And on someone else's land.

I somehow missed this post, only noticed it as Mel responded to it or I never would have saw it. It appears we were posting at the same time so probably is how I missed it.

Not real clear on this, when you say the property line was the edge of the woods, do you mean, the woods were not on their property as in it is the back property line?

I can conceive of 23 acres as I had 12 so it would be double that. Not as much as some might think, I only say that as I find many don't have a good idea of acreage. It's enough, don't get me wrong, but not as vast as some might think. Don't suppose you know if it was square or for instance, long and narrow? Or wide and short? And whether a road bordered their property in the back or was it someone else's land bordering on all sides but the front?

So the detached garage and carport were each separate or do you mean, the garage had a carport on it and they were separate?

Also for him to think she was home alone, he had to know her car and you said they didn't know each other, so he'd have to have known OF her at least, stalking her perhaps?

I appreciate the description but it give me more questions, seems to be my problem with this case lol. Anyhow, just saw this post from this morning.
