The Holly Bobo Murder

I'm not sure this is where to put this but I couldn't find a thread re case of the 2011 murder of Holly Bobo.
There were several arrests and three convictions on the case and I'm currently watching the one prosecution that went to trial.
Anyway, I'm interested to know whether anyone is aware of the case or is familiar it and would share their thoughts.

I'm not admitting to that other than to admit it very well could be lol.

I remember key things like going into the woods. Or said to have. Recall it was some time before she was found. Recall the brother. I recall thinking drugs were invoved but couldn't recall how that was known. I thought one of the bunch told on another. Some things I only recall after they are said, like her studying.

I freely admit not fresh on the facts but I also never watched the trial and much was thought or speculated prior to that I think.

So yeah, with most things, I'm just asking, not necessarily set in what I think.
You know what? I think it'd be helpful to describe the property as I understand it.
The Bobo's lived on 23 acres and from the road, their house was at the back of the property and the property line was at the edge of the woods.
Their driveway led from the front of the house the house to the back where there was a detached garage and carport.
Holly's father always parked out in front of the house, and Holly and her mother always parked under the carport. Now, I don't know or recall where her brother always parked but I know that it had been a while since it was possible to park in the garage because it had been used for something else but on this particular morning, his vehicle was parked in the garage.

The routine was that both of Holly's parents would leave for work before she left for nursing school. I don't remember when her brother would leave for work but I'm sure the fact that his vehicle was out of sight in the garage made the perp think that Holly was the only one home.

It's not surprising as we have nothing from the original thread plus some seem to be now changing stories anyway. A bit like Rebecca Park - they seem like a big bunch of liars.
Exactly. Yeah I'm like is this even the same case with some of it loll.

I've lived in both city and country and small town. Things can vary in your feeling of safety, and also things as to whether daytime or night time, how well you know your neighbors and so on. I'm not saying it isn't smart to always lock one's door but just it's a lot different mindset depending on a number of things. Of course, as people have become more mobile, or population increases, more crime occurs, and things change, and we follow crime, it can seem nuts for someone to not have their door locked.

I don't want to sidetrack the thread with the topic as it is not specific to this case but it still isn't unusual with many generations and in many places. Especially during the day time. Imo.
I lock the door when i am in the house and when i go out for shopping, appointments etc. When i am outside on the yard i don't lock the door. I live in a rural area about 3-400 yards from other dwelings and about 800 yards from the village but we have a lot of tourists wandering around all the time, so you cannot be too careful IMO. If i lived anywhere close to people like those in the family on the Rebecca thread, i would move. I don't know anything about this family ATM. I am waiting for the new trial basically and any new info that comes to light because of that.

Exactly. It truly depends on your surroundings, if others are home, and so on. I lived an outdoor life a lot of years with gardening especially, neighbors were outside on nice days, and I was in and out of the house all day long when home and no it was not locked. I was a single mother after the divorce from my kids' dad for many, many years. I lived in town then and my door was unlocked all day. Back door. My dad would stop when he came into town to use my bathroom lol. My mom stopped at my previous home, she was in home care nursing, between calls or to make calls (before cell phones), etc. We didn't gorw up in some metropolis and it is a very low serious crime area. There are a lot of things that play in imo.

Following crime though or living somewhere else, especially in a big city, one can see why it seems nuts to not lock your door always. However, people are lying if they say they lock their door when only going to be outside a minute, etc. Imo.

It's just what he thought it most looked like.
I'm wondering about the hunting thing though. We have the bf hunting. We have camo. Now we have a deer caller. And we have woods and her being taken into them. That's my reason for asking. Deer hunting is huge here and it only runs (gun season) for ten days and it is over Thanksgiving. In the neighboring state it is just before Thanskgiving. Of course, there is also bow season but always in the fall.

I'm wondering if it was a season and for how long and so on. She disappeared in APRIL though wasn't it?

Unusual for April to be hunting season IMO. This is when pregnant mammals are often giving birth or nursing very young offspring.

Yes, the boyfriend was turkey hunting. Btw, I've since learned that he was on property 20 miles away.
Yes, it was April 13, 2011.

Re hunting / hunter, the owner of the property where her remains were found 3 years later said it wasn't uncommon for people to hunt on his property without permission.
Point being, I think the perp could have been familiar with that area because it's where he'd hunted.
And I think I might have said it but I'll mention it again that Holly's cell phone travelled in that direction from her home and showed to be stationary in that area from 8:26am to 8:56am.

Have you seen a map or article that shows the property where she was found in relation to her home. That may be helpful. I'll have a data search.

Re post #71, I'm sure I've seen that map; I'm sure I've seen several, actually, but none have illustrated the timeline in the way I want to see it.

I found the map very helpful. It shows rape location, murder location and the gun and the body location. (All different) Also shows Holly's house, the murderer's house and the accomplice's house. Also shows phone and simcard location. They must have had the perp's help to locate these IMO.

Turkey hunting makes more sense than deer by far. Seems odd to me bf would be hunting and perp would have a deer caller. Seems to be too much hunting theme here and deer would not be hunted in April. Looked it up just now, they aren't hunted in April in TN. I guess they could call deer just to want to see them lol. Why the heck is everyone hunting? Also it wasn't even a weekend was it? If Holly had school and the parents had work, I'd think it was a weekday. Just all odd to me that everyone is in the woods and hunting and in camo and so on and so on.

Then she is found in the woods elsewhere. Yeah they could have known of it that way but doesn't explain them having the deer caller (if indeed it was that) at Holly's.

I know I'm stuck on the hunting thing but it is just ODD that everyone is in the woods somewhere and/or has hunting stuff. In April. On a weekday.

It isn't at all what I have in mind but thanks, anyway.

It is helpful. I must have missed her house. I'm having a bit of an off day though so maybe it's me lol. Probably right in front of me on there.

I'd still like a good view of her home and those woods they went into if anyone comes across one.
