The Holly Bobo Murder

I'm not sure this is where to put this but I couldn't find a thread re case of the 2011 murder of Holly Bobo.
There were several arrests and three convictions on the case and I'm currently watching the one prosecution that went to trial.
Anyway, I'm interested to know whether anyone is aware of the case or is familiar it and would share their thoughts.

He didn't say it made sense to him that the boyfriend- or anyone else- would be carrying around a deer caller, I mean, he knew the boyfriend was hunting turkey.

It was a Wednesday and the boyfriend had work that morn at 8am, which is where I think he actually was at that time.
Are we sure it wasn't a turkey caller instead? That would make much more sense for somebody going turkey hunting.

Hunting before work and confronted before work all before 8 a.m. when he had to be to work.

I'm not suspecting him necessarily, I would think they cleared him, it is just that some of these things are so odd to me. I've been around die hard hunters and can't imagine a one of them even doing that. Must have been some big Tom turkey he was after or something. Our land had a ton of turkeys. My BIL and his son would often stop and ask to hunt it, on WEEKENDS. They were obsessed but never went before work lol. And on someone else's land.
Many go before and after work since they are mostly out at dawn and dusk, much like deer.

Yeah, if he was stalking, I'd think it fairly noticeable if he was coming down their road. Might explain the woods. Just makes me wonder where he became aware of her to begin with... He's certainly not the college or library or type..
I think they were around the same age, but ran in different social circles. That’s how I recall it anyway.

Well, apparently, they look different- I wouldn't know, lol- and that's why he said deer caller, which he described as a black pipe about 7-8' long with a flexible end.
Given the circumstances, it sounds to me like what he actually saw was a gun.

Ok, as i know nothing about turkey or deer callers i found a couple of youtubes to watch. One of them only has three views so they need our support anyway. First one 1.5 minutes and second one 4 minutes.

I actually looked it up the other day and deer calling is legal in TN (except in some circumstances) but if I remember right, turkey calling wasn't. Or wasn't for the most part.

I've gone back to watching the 2017 trial and by doing so, I see that I was mistaken about the carport, that is, it was / is attached to the house!
And that's important to me because I hadn't been clear as to the distance of where the brother saw the figures. What I mean is, the brother said he looked out the window and saw two figures kneeling under the window and the way I imagined it is that the two figures were outside of the carport that also had a window (lol!).
Anyway, yeah, I'm doing my best to keep patient as I watch the trial (which I'd already ranked above the worst I've seen).

I didn't say so but I've wondered that about the carport repeatedly, mostly because MOST are attached to the home and it just sounded as if this was right outside the home. I have been watching a lot of videos about mobile homes for sale lately and almost all have carports, and they are attached. Mobile homes in warm places lol, of course. The only detached ones I've seen in my lifetime are more like a tent canopy you set up but bigger. On homes, they are probably more common in the south than here because we need the cars kept warm in winter, in garages, or at least that's preferable, not that everyone has such.

I've seen nothing of the trial/s. Why is it above the worst you've seen?

I think I could have had a preconceived notion about the carport, mainly because there was also a garage.
Btw, in the 2017 trial, those two words are used interchangeably, I mean, more a couple of times, they said garage when they were talking about the carport.

As for why worst, basically, think of everything that could be wrong and there you have it.

Yeah, I saw at least one link here in the last week or two that said it was in the "garage".

That bad huh? The trial. Wow.

Actually, it starts with the police response, right?
In this instance, Holly's father said it didn't look like anyone knew what they were doing and I don't think they knew where to start.
He had to take it upon himself to find tape and tape-off the carport!

OMG. The older I get the more I've learned that we can't assume anyone is protecting us or know sh*t. Not all of course but fairly true at times. Some people think their doctor is "god" and LE is too and it certainly isn't always the case.

Probably especially in rural or small areas where LE may not see much of such crimes. However, we see enough big city too with issues. I'm following one about a TX A & M student right now and it really seems the Austin PD has done a very poor investigation. Not sure 100 percent as they haven't shared everything but pretty sure to 80 percent based on accounts of others. It is a was it suicide or not case? The if there doesn't matter so much as HOW and WHY did they determine such so quickly, not take phones, do interviews, and so on. Of course if suicide or murder or accident matters greatly to the family and it does to me, but the point to me is it looks like a very shoddy investigation. They too never secured anything the way it sounds and more.

Anyhow to not go on longer, yeah, it often starts with failures from the start with securing a scene, witnesses, and so on. Give a possible crime a day or two and the entire scene and evidence can change, be hidden, witnesses have time to come up with a story as do perps, etc.

the DAD had to tape off the carport??

GrandmaBear, you've questioned whether Holly and Zack had known one another, in news footage from back in the day, Holly's best friend said that neither of them knew Zach.
