I have been wanting to mention Crime Con and do a post about wow what it was this year and who all attended and did podcasts from it. I just haven't had time. I want to GO. Next year it is in Nashville and the year after it is in the UK @Tresir Anyone interested in going? All he people in so many cases were there. Reporters, LE, YTers, victims families AND the viewers of such. Dylan Rounds' mom, the Petito Foundation, Nate Eaton, Vinnie Politan, Gigi, the list goes on and on. I didn't get to watch nearly as many as I'd have liked to but watched a couple of Nate's and Erica's and who they interviewed, etc.

Broderick gained national notoriety after killing her husband, Dan Broderick, and his new wife, Linda Kolkena, on Nov. 5, 1989.
Betty and Dan wed in 1969 and shared four children. In the early 1980s, Dan began an affair with Kolkena, a former flight attendant whom he had hired to work as his legal assistant amid marital woes with Betty.

Thomasville resident Lindsay Shiver is under arrest after Bahamian Police uncovered a plot crafted by her and two men to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver.
According to Bahamas Court News, police arrested Shiver, 36, along with her lover Terrance Bethel, 28, of Guana Cay, Abaco and hitman Farron Newbold Jr., 28, of the Bahamas. Bahamian police say they uncovered the plot on July 16, while searching the phone and social media app of a suspected burglar.
A source familiar with the investigation said the Shivers have a home in the Bahamas, where Lindsay first began an affair with Bethel. Upon Robert finding out about the affair, he filed for divorce. That is when Lindsay, Bethel and and Newbold Jr. concocted a plan to murder...

Five unprovoked murders in the past several months appear to be the work of one person, according to the Stockton, California, Police Department.
Authorities are searching for a person of interest tied to the five slayings, the first of which occurred on July 8. All of the victims were men and all were alone at the time they were fatally shot, police said.
The killings all happened at night or in the early morning hours.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Investigators with the Dyer County and Lake County Sheriff’s Departments are investigating the death of four people located in Lake County.
Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box isn’t saying where the bodies were found, but it appears the incident involves the ongoing investigation of a baby found in someone’s front yard in Dyer County on Tuesday.
The child was found in a baby seat at a residence on Old Highway 20 near the Tigrett area.

I used to start a fair amount of case threads but life has me not doing so in quite awhile. The title will likely need more info, date, etc. and an intro.
I don't know enough yet to have an opinion but keep running into this case. Of course it jump started due to being the same area as Karen Read with LE involvement and yet nothing about them is similar. Night and day different.
An issue I have with cases of suicides or drownings, some various things like that is when they rule such accidental or suicide when it cannot be known. Not saying they aren't right in a lot of cases but short of solid proof it is such, I think they should in many cases be ruled undetermined.

Homicide investigation underway after girl missing from Mesa was found dead near Globe
A homicide investigation is underway after the remains of a missing girl were found earlier this month, according to the Gila County Sheriff's Office.
On February 14, the remains of an unidentified female were located off Highway 60 near milepost 277, northeast of Globe.
On Thursday, GCSO said the remains were identified as a girl from the San Carlos Apache Tribe missing out of Mesa.

Clinton Brink, 43, and wife Cristen, 41, were found dead on a walking trail at Devil’s Den State Park in northwestern Arkansas.
Police are now searching for a White male with a medium build, who was seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ballcap, sunglasses and fingerless gloves. He was also carrying a black backpack, police said.
The suspect was also seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan – possibly a Mazda with tape covering the license plate. The vehicle may have been traveling on State Route 170 or 220, police said.

Sheriff Mickey Stines was arrested after surrendering himself to police. The shooting occurred in the judge’s chambers about 3 p.m. this afternoon (September 19).
Stines allegedly walked into the judge’s outer office, told court employees and others gathered there that he needed to speak with District Judge Kevin D. Mullins alone. The two then went into the inner office, closed the door and those outside heard shots. Stines walked out with his hands up and surrendered to police.
Court employees were on the sidewalk outside the courthouse in shock following the shooting. Stines was handcuffed in the foyer of the courthouse. Officials expected the investigation to continue for several more hours...

If authentic, the audio may be one of the first significant clues to emerge since the case’s reopening earlier this month by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.

An Oklahoma principal's heroic and quick-thinking actions are being shown in a newly released video as he tackled an armed former student who had planned to carry out a Columbine-inspired shooting.
Principal Kirk Moore was shot in the leg after he pounced on top of the 20-year-old suspect last week. No one else was hurt.
Moore could then be seen in the video opening a door and rushing at the former student from the side, tackling him onto a bench against the wall.
