The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

From the article:

Grusing testified that Stauch told him about a woman named Angel who she’d met on an app on her phone for the purpose of engaging in a threesome. She also said that Gannon injured his head the day before his disappearance while pushing two beds together.
Stauch provided few additional details about Angel when she and Grusing returned to the interrogation room.
🙄🙄🙄
Edit sorry Kimster!🙈
The bed story is stupid but she likely was explaining in case they found Gannon's blood or anything on his bed so it had to be such a thing.

Angel isn't believable either as to hurting Gannon although I wouldn't say that Al may not have suggested such a thing or T offered such to interest and keep him... I do unfortunately believe he cheated and added further issues and stress in the marriage. Can I know it? No, but I do think it. Jmo.

i don't know. Even though she was stressed most likely as she was cuffed, being transported and likely never to see freedom again, she was very with it and full of it when stating what one officer did and that she would deal with anyone else but that officer, etc., etc. What I mean is I didn't see any real panic or stress either although it would make sense that she would be feeling both in such a situation. I think anyone would. It was all done for the escape attempt most likely.

She thinks or did she is so smart and such a bad ass and powerful and was thinking she'd be a bad ass escapee is what it struck me more like. Didn't work though. Just like her attempt in jail, her letter(s) to the judge, etc., etc. Fake polygraph test she was trying to buy.

Boy she is something all right. Just not the type of something she thinks she is.

If there is REAL justice in this world, she will become Jodi Arias' cellmate.

So....anybody know anything about the 'proffer' the state made with Harley? Did Harley really have a choice to testify? Or was she compelled to?
Per the testimony, Harley received a subpoena by the PA's office in August 2022. She was reluctant because she still believed Letecia's innocence at that time.

Her attorney accompanied her and was told she could be charged as an accessory.

After providing her sworn statement she was advised of the evidence againat Letecia and cooperated fully.

Harley testified because of the subpoena and was not compelled. hth

I shut it off too. It's FIVE HOURS LONG and the jury has to watch all of it!!
Umm, yes it was a five hour interview however they did not play all of it only portions of it that the PA wanted to highlight.

The FBI Agent, Jonathan Grusing was well versed in high profile cases. For example Mark Redwine & Maggie Long to name a couple. His experience with profiling helped in this interview. imo

Here's the portion where he asks her about the internet searches.

Also, she refused to say when she last saw Gannon no matter how many times she was asked.

I am often critical when the system doesn't work or mistakes are made in our system. That's known I think. But I also try to give credit or remember to when it's due and I have to say over and over I have thought the prosecution teams in both this case and Vallow are well prepared and doing a great job. In two cases FULL of events and facts, it is well done, in a logical order and I think for all the absolute amount of info to get across, they are getting the points made in a way that can be followed, even by a jury that doesn't know the case or all of it.

On the flip side, the defense in each case is doing little and that part's pretty lackluster. I guess we will see where they intend to go on their turn. In this case, of course, it all hangs on insanity. In Lori's case, I have no idea why they aren't trying to do more. There's been a moment or two. Archie went on David Warwick some.

His calm and firm manner had an effect on her. Of course she still pitched bs, but at least she didn't yell it. And I think he could learn a little bit more about likely injuries Gannon might have suffered.

I'm going to offer this one up as well just because if you are one who reads or engages in chat, they are far less wild and better moderated than Court TV and Law and Crime. It is full time daily streaming of the trial as well. I forget what trial I ended up watching here and have since because at Law and Crime it was so bad and so busy with trolls and watchers one couldn't even keep up with reading chat. I have watched any that they cover at this channel since. They don't cover all so sometimes I have ended up back at Law and Crime. Anyhow, many don't care about the chat but it does show opinions, etc. so just also putting up another option. Monday trial resuming set to start shortly. I work but have a midday starting time for a shift today.
