ONGOING CRIME BREAKING NEWS!

Starting in January 2020, this thread is about the news as it breaks!

Bernard Madoff says he is dying and is asking a judge for compassionate release from prison, where he is serving 150 years for orchestrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history, according to a Wednesday federal court filing.

Madoff, 81, has terminal kidney failure and a life expectancy of less than 18 months. When the court sentenced him, “it was clear that Madoff’s 150-year prison sentence was symbolic for three reasons: retribution, deterrence, and for the victims,” the court filing states. “This Court must now consider whether keeping Madoff incarcerated … is truly in furtherance of statutory sentencing goals and our society’s value and understanding of compassion.”

Madoff said in the request for compassionate release that he “does not dispute the severity of his crimes.”

IMO- stay in jail

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Police on Friday morning discovered the remains of a goat stolen earlier this week from a Montessori school in St. Paul.

Officers who responded to reports of “suspicious items” at an address about 2.5 miles (4.02 kilometers) from the school found the remains of Hazelnut the goat in a plastic storage box, the Star Tribune reported.

The case is under investigation and no arrests have been made. The investigation found a “high likelihood” the goat is the one stolen between Monday night and Tuesday from the Great River School, according to a police sergeant.

The school has an animal care program that includes chickens and a garden students help look after. The school added three goats at the start of the last school year, in hopes of a larger project in which children learn to milk the goats and sell their milk or cheese to learn about economics, according to school volunteer Lynn Overvoorde.

“These goats have really become an ingrained part of the community, they’re more than just farm animals to us,” Overvoorde said.

The school had shared a flyer on Facebook that offered a $500 reward for finding the “beloved animal.”

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police have arrested and charged the mother of a 7-year-old girl whose body was found in a vacant DeKalb County apartment over the weekend.

Officials say they began their investigation Sunday after a neighbor called police when he smelled a foul odor coming from an apartment at the Hidden Valley Apartment Complex on Misty Waters Drive.

The man told police he went inside the unit to investigate and discovered the body of a little girl in a closet.

According to investigators, the body's condition showed the child had been dead for some time. They have since identified her as 7-years-old Alivia Hobbs-Jordan.

Friday, officials announced that they had identified the girl's mother as Alondra Hobbs.

Officers arrested Hobbs on Thursday and charged her with felony murder and cruelty in the second degree.

ATLANTA (AP) — Police in Georgia have arrested the mother of a 7-year-old girl whose body was found decaying in the closet of a vacant apartment.

Alondra Hobbs, 27, was charged with felony murder and cruelty in the second degree, DeKalb County police said on Facebook. It was not immediately clear whether she had an attorney.

A police spokeswoman, Officer Elise Wells, said Hobbs was at a hospital Friday. She was charged on Thursday, according to police. They identified her daughter as Alivia Hobbs-Jordan.

An officer discovered the girl’s body last Sunday at an apartment complex outside Atlanta after someone called to report a dead child in the closet, according to a police report.

A neighbor told the officer the tenant had moved out and she had not seen her for a couple of months. The officer said he saw what appeared to be a full head of hair and a decaying arm and leg in the closet.

Another officer found a piece of mail with the name Alondra Hobbs on it, according to the report.

Police have not said how the girl died.

Alec Baldwin never disappointed me on SNL. I thought he was hilarious on there.
The best actor in that movie is Alec Baldwin. His character is brief, but he just takes command of the scene with Kevin Spacey, Jack Lemon, Alan Arkin and Ed Harris and he just owns them all in that scene.
I wouldn't say he was the best actor. I'd give that to Jack Lemon. I think he is a good actor. All of the cast were/are.
Rest in peace Jack Lemon and Alan Arkin. I really liked Jack Lemon. Especially when he teamed up with Walter Matthau. They played off each other perfectly.

F***! I didn't even hear about this. I get extremely mad and upset when it comes to abuse, Killing and neglect of animals. That alot of times bothers me more. I check the Minnesota news all the time. And crime news. Nothing has come up. If I got ahold of a person abusing an animal. I would get aggressive. I wouldn't be a bit sorry either.

I hope they catch the evil f***! There needs to be tougher laws for animal abuse abd neglect. In the last week. Somewhere. The U.S. The headline was enough. 146 dogs found dead. I just can't.

Man sentenced for shooting dog:

I saw the headlinem didn't want to say further. Another one was neighbor forced to watch her dog being set on fire and burned alive. That's as far as I went. I get absolutely enraged when people abusing/neglecting animals. I've gotten involved before. HEY, DON'T PUNCH THAT DOG IN THE FACE,!!!
MIND YOUR BUSINESS! When it comes to an animal I make it my business!!!
