AUGUSTA, Ga. - A U.S. Marine reservist collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in eastern Georgia.
Best Buy sales manager Orvin Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that man was seen on surveillance cameras Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the Augusta store.
When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran toward the door. Outside were four Marines collecting toys for the service branch's "Toys For Tots" program.
Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back. The cut did not appear to be severe.
The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, assorted lacerations and bruises he obtained when he fell trying to run after stabbing the Marine.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff's office said it is investigating.

I'm watching the news and efferdently there was a series of smash and grab robberies last night. They occurred while the business' were closed. They used a car to smash into the doors. At the comedy club they went into they pulled out an ATM. Police won't say if they got any money from it.

The owner of the comedy club was interviewed and said that despite everything that was stolen, they did get one thing from the robbers. One of them dropped their cell phone.

Years ago I took my car in to get it inspected, and the sticker had run out several days before. Not more than a week overdue. The mechanic looked at me and asked me if I was aware that he could fine me for driving around without "proper tags." I told him...." uh, NO.... you can't fine me, you have no authority to do that." Must have thought I was stupid. Why do some guys think that just because we are female we are helpless. Nope.... some of us may be smarter than the guys trying to pull one over on us.

Some do. I'm not dumb either. I was permanently banned from a dealership because they were trying to take advantage on repairs. Extreme. For something they fixed recently at the time. NOPE! What a POS That car was. I was sold a used lemon. I hate "When life gives you lemons, Make lemonade". What if you're out of sugar?!!!! Didn't think of that did ya?!!!! And cars and sugar don't mix. Especially the gas tank.

No. I'm sorry You can't even have that. We've been listening to your calls. You did this to yourself. (snip). Disconnected. No.You can't rig it. I'm taking it. Just to be sure.....AHA! Another one in the kitchen! (snip) The bedroom too! (snip). THE BATHROOM TOO! (Snip).

Sounds like he was going to try to tack on a "fine" onto your inspection fee.
