The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

So him having another child with his new girlfriend soon after is a fact!? Good Lord, what a mess😐
I believe so. If it was not in the video, I can't recall?? it was definitely popping up in the chat and comments... I believe a daughter. There was also commentary on Landon and wanting or trying to obtain custody... I had heard it before and I saw it again with this video and comments... Comments also about how hard it must be for Landon knowing her daughter is around another unknown female...

Lorson Ranch residents will light neighborhood blue to remember Gannon Stauch on 1-year anniversary of tragedy

A group of neighbors are doing everything they can to make sure Gannon Stauch's memory carries on.

It's been nearly a year since his disappearance. He was first reported missing on January 27.

The 11-year-old's step-mom is accused in his murder.

During the search for Gannon, neighbors in Lorson Ranch started putting blue lights outside of their homes. The lights were considered by some to be a sort of calling card for Gannon to come home.

Now they're hoping to turn the neighborhood blue again to mark the one-year anniversary of this tragedy.

"At a year later, these blue lights for all of us I think are a way to remember him, to let him and his family know he's not forgotten. He's always important to us," Monica Denny said.

Neighbors are hoping the blue lights will spread beyond the Lorson Ranch neighborhood.

Anyone anywhere can be a part of this and neighbors are encouraging that you share pictures of your blue decorations on Facebook.

That's awesome.

Anyone who can make up such tall tales is competent to stand trial. She really tried EVERYTHING to get the investigators on a wild goose chase. I am convinced that there is enough evidence for a conviction, only afraid that she will try to drag it out for a long time.
IMO

I would hope so. But I hope she never sees the light of day again to even have the chance to use it in the first place.

The amazing thing is I think I heard she had two notices and could appeal or ask for a hearing and she did not respond. She seems the type to do exactly that and fight it. I am somewhat surprised. Very happy it is permanently revoked though.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The woman accused in the killing of her 11-year-old stepson Gannon Stauch will be in court on Friday for what is likely to be a closed-door hearing about her request for new attorneys. That’s according to our news partners at the Gazette.

Just to drag a trial out as long as possible IMO, she does a 'Jodi' 😤
There seem to be a lot of similarities with her and Jodi. At least in the sense of the attorneys would probably love to get away from such as clients despite the high profile of the case. I am sure they have their hands full just as Jodi's attorneys did. Letecia writing the judge for example...

I don't know but "Tee's" attorneys seem to be doing their job on her behalf, I mean she got two competency evals and delays to no end already...

It to me in many ways is never about the victims so much as it is far more about the defendant and their rights to the extreme these days AND delays because of such.

Crazy. Her only goal seems to be to torture his parents, just right from the beginning 😐
I agree, she definitely has always had it in for Landon and one can add Al to the list probably starting when she felt she was losing him if not sooner... Now she would pin this on him I think if she could...

Since it is a closed hearing I wonder what if anything we will hear about it...

I've heard that many defendants will say they want to represent themselves so they can get a look at what the states evidence is. Then they'll ask for an attorney.

This biotch probably thinks she's smart enough to pull it off.
