Plea deal offered to mother of 3-year-old Elijah Vue
Prosecutors have made a plea deal offer to Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah Vue. Vue was the 3-year-old boy reported missing from a Two Rivers home in February 2024, and whose body was found in September. However, details of the proposal were not divulged in court Friday.

Meanwhile, both sides continue to review evidence in the case, so no trial date was set. Baur returns to court Sept. 26 for a status conference.

Plea Deal Offered for Mother of Elijah Vue

There could be a plea offer for the mother of Two Rivers toddler Elijah Vue.

32-year-old Katrina Baur returned to Judge Anthony Lambrecht’s courtroom for a status conference due to the amount of evidence being presented in Vue’s death case.

Attorney Amber Gratz said she needed more time to look it over and needed to view a plea offer she received.

Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LeBre also wanted some more time because of new evidence she got from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Lambrecht set another status conference for September 26th.

Plea deal for what she put that child through!

Defendants are given more leniency and grace than their innocent victims are!!

One year ago, on Sept. 13, 2024, Two Rivers Police Department confirmed it had found the remains of 3-year-old Elijah Vue, the boy from Wisconsin Dells who had been missing in Manitowoc County for more than six months.

One month later, Katrina B. Baur, Elijah's mother, and Jesse Vang were formally charged with causing Elijah's death and hiding his body in a wooded area just outside the city of Two Rivers.

That adorable little boy. She had plenty of excuses. Previous abuse that showed partial healing. Poor child. 😪

Elijah Vue’s father denied request for a new trial or resentencing

A Calumet Count judge denied the request for a new trial for Jimmy Vue this week.

Jimmy Vue is the father of Elijah Vue, the young boy found murdered in Manitowoc County last year.

Jimmy Vue had requested the option of either a new trial or resentencing for his 2022 convictions of battery and domestic abuse, as well as drug charges.

The case against Vue included testimony of Katrina Baur, Elijah’s mother, who is charged in connection with Elijah’s death.

Vue’s attorney is claiming they were not told about several police reports involving Baur, that included neglect of a toddler and possible drug use, and that Baur could’ve had motive for false testimony.

Prosecution disputed those claims. The judge decided on Thursday that Vue’s arguments do not meet the burden for re-sentencing or a new trial.

Baur's next hearing is set for January 8. Vang is also due in court that day.

Jesse Vang, man charged in Elijah Vue's death, files lawsuit against Manitowoc County Jail
The man charged in the death of Elijah Vue has filed a federal lawsuit against the Manitowoc County Jail.

Jesse Vang, who has been behind bars for 21 months, alleged civil rights violations in the suit filed Monday. He handwrote the lawsuit from jail, including inmate disciplinary reports filed about him and grievances he submitted following the reports.

Vang claimed jail staff is harassing and targeting him. Jail staff has reported that Vang has possessed contraband and not worn his uniform properly.

Vang also said the jail should have an audio and video recording system or require staff to wear body cameras. Jail staff responded in the reports saying Vang has broken jail rules and his multiple grievances are unfounded.
