Amber Alert issued for 2-year-old boy possibly with murder suspect​

An Amber Alert has been issued for an abducted 2-year-old boy from North Carolina who is believed to be with his mother, who is wanted for murder.

Dior Singleton is believed to be with Camille Singleton, who is wanted for the murder of Inita Gaither, according to the Clayton Police Department in North Carolina.

The mother was last known to be driving a white, 2021 Chevrolet Silverado U-Haul pickup truck with Arizona license plate AL-35574. The vehicle was found at a U-Haul dealership in Georgia.

The boy's father is currently deployed on a U.S. Navy ship out at sea.

On Thursday, police in Clayton, which is a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, found Inita Gaither, 68, deceased inside her home. Investigators identified Singleton, who is a relative, as the suspect. An arrest warrant charging Singleton with murder has been issued.

The Amber Alert says Singleton may have been headed to Arkansas, Virginia, or Georgia -- especially Macon.

AMBER Alert issued for 2-year-old taken by woman accused of killing grandmother​

A 31-year-old woman is on the run after police say she killed a relative. Family members identified the victim as the suspect's grandmother.

Clayton Police Department found Inita Gaither, 68, dead inside her home on Crawford Parkway during a welfare check around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. While investigating, officers identified Camille Nechelle Singleton as a suspect in the homicide.

Singleton is on the run and is believed to have her 2-year-old son, Dior Singleton with her. An AMBER Alert has been issued for the child.

Gaither's daughter, Willette Eley, said her mom had four children. She said Gaither was raising one of Singleton's sons. Police are still investigating whether Dior lived with Gaither.

The investigation started when police showed up at Gaither's home. They found her with a gunshot to the head.


Singleton now has active warrants out for her arrest. Police said she left the area, and their best clue was from a U-Haul dealership in Georgia where Singleton had dropped off a white U-Haul pickup.

Investigators said they believe Singleton could be headed to Arkansas, Virginia, or Macon, Georgia.

A few neighbors said they saw the U-Haul truck outside the home for a few days.

Police told ABC!! that the AMBER Alert was deployed for the child after they talked to Dior's father, who is deployed at sea with the Navy.

Camille Singleton, who was charged in connection with a Thursday murder in Clayton, North Carolina, was apprehended and arrested in Georgia today, Clayton spokesperson Nathanael Shelton confirmed.

The alert has been cancelled as Dior was found with his mother. He is also currently in police custody, safe.
