HCPD report sheds light on Forestbrook woman’s life before disappearance
Newly obtained documents are shining a light on Cyrena Anderson’s life and marriage before she went missing in May 2026.
Anderson, who lives in Forestbrook, was reported missing by her sister on May 19. Horry County Police previously announced that their efforts to locate Anderson had become a criminal investigation and named her husband, Danny Osborne, a person of interest.
Anderson’s sister, Nerisa Stancil, said learning Osborne is a person of interest was not a surprise to her.
“I was not surprised. He has made numerous threats to her; if she ever left him, you know he would get her fired from her job,” Stancil said. “He’s even made threats to kill her if she ever left him.”
WMBF obtained a report filed by HCPD officers on March 17 detailing an interaction officers had with Anderson.
A spokesperson for HCPD confirmed the people mentioned in the report are Anderson and Osborne.
The report says Anderson called the police asking for an officer to escort her to her home so she could get her things, and told officers that she and Osborne had been arguing recently, and she had told him she planned to leave him.
Officers noted Anderson believed Osborne was at the house and “was very distraught during this conversation, almost having a panic attack.”
The officers asked numerous times if something else was going on, but Anderson repeatedly claimed “it was verbal” and wouldn’t say anything further, except for one sentence the officers noted:
“She was also stating that if she said anything, she would go to jail.”
The officers noted being concerned for Anderson. “It appears there might be some domestic violence issues going on, but we have nothing to support that. I1 [Anderson] seemed like she wanted to tell me more details but was afraid to,” the report says.
The report was written, “due to the uncertainty of the situation.”
WMBF asked Stancil if she knew her sister had asked for a police escort to remove her things from the home.
“She was planning to leave him; she was just trying to find a safe way to do it,” Stancil said. “Ultimately, you know, he had made threats to kill her, to poison her.”
Stancil also said that since Anderson and Osborne married in October 2025, it appeared that Osborne was trying to isolate his wife from others. Stancil said her communication with Anderson had grown less frequent at times.
“He didn’t want her to talk about the things he was telling her, the threats he was making to her, the way he was treating her, and so he tried to isolate her from everybody who loves her,” Stancil said.
Stancil knows her sister was trying to get away from Osborne and wants people to know that, after what she’s seen and heard, she knows Anderson is not missing voluntarily.
“She wouldn’t walk away from her job of 25 years, have no contact with family or friends, so she’s not, she’s not voluntarily missing,” she said.
