Missing Horry Co. woman: Police say new evidence contradicts husband's account
The Horry County Police Department is seeking more information into a missing person's case.

Cyrena Anderson was reported missing on May 19 by her sister, who police said last spoke with her on May 12.

Police said Anderson was reportedly last seen with her husband, Danny L. Osborne, at their home in the Forestbrook area of Horry County.

Osborne told investigators that Anderson gathered her belongings and left their home during the early morning hours of May 13.

However, police said investigators have "since discovered evidence that contradicts his account."

Husband jailed on unrelated charges as police investigate wife’s disappearance

A woman’s disappearance is under investigation while her husband sits in the New Hanover County jail on unrelated charges.

Danny Osborne is being held in jail on cyberstalking charges and for violating a protective order, according to court documents.

His wife, Cyrena Anderson, was reported missing on May 19 after last speaking with her sister on May 12. Police say Anderson was last seen with her husband.

Horry County police say they found evidence in the disappearance of Anderson that contradicts statements made by Osborne.

“So we have to follow every avenue of evidence. We follow through on them all the way, and then if we find those inconsistencies, we continue to dig and find more information,” Chief Kris Leonhardt with the Horry County Police Department said.

Authorities believe Osborne drove through Brunswick and Columbus counties on May 15. He drives a red Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Husband of missing SC woman named person of interest as investigation turns criminal

The husband of a missing South Carolina woman is a person of interest in her disappearance, WMBF reports.

Horry County police announced an update Thursday, identifying Danny Osborne as a person of interest in the disappearance of his wife, Cyrena Anderson.

Detectives said Osborne spent time in Brunswick and Columbus counties in North Carolina, both before and after Anderson was reported missing.

“Detectives are actively working with law enforcement partners in those jurisdictions,” police said. “At this time, no possibilities have been ruled out.”

Anderson’s sister reported her missing on May 19. The sister last spoke to Anderson on May 12, and Anderson failed to report to work on May 14.

Police said Anderson was last seen with Osborne at their home in the Forestbrook area.

Osborne is currently in custody in North Carolina. New Hanover County Detention Center records show he was arrested May 25 on two counts of failure to appear on misdemeanor charges and six counts of domestic violence protective order violation.

A judge set his bond at $245,000. His next court date is June 29.

Horry County police said the Wilmington Police Department arrested Osborne on “unrelated charges.”

Investigators believe Osborne traveled through the Supply and Bolton communities along Highway 211 on May 15. He drives a red Ford F-150 and is known to frequent Brunswick and New Hanover counties in North Carolina.

‘Something wasn’t right’: Friend of missing Horry County woman reacts to husband being named person of interest

Nearly a month since Horry County resident Cyrena Anderson was last seen, her friends and family continue to ask for the public’s help to find her.

Anderson was reported missing on May 19 by her sister, who said she hadn’t heard from her since May 12.

Anderson’s friend, Layla Rule, described her as bubbly and outgoing, but said that description changed once Osborne entered the picture.

“It would make sense to me that he would be a person of interest, because of what I saw since she got married and even since she started dating Danny, that something wasn’t right,” Rule said.

Rule said she wasn’t surprised that Osborne’s status in the investigation changed.

“In the past, there were things that weren’t making sense,” she said. “Where she seemed like she was fine, and then he would make her burn her clothing and eliminate her phone number, things like that.”

Rule said her concern for Anderson only grew following her last interaction with the couple.

“Cyrena looked like she couldn’t move from where she was,” she said. “So it was a little disconcerting. Almost as if she wasn’t allowed to get within a couple feet from where Danny was.”

Despite her concern, Rule said she couldn’t approach Anderson after losing contact with her friend.

“He made her cut off her phone and cut contact with people like us,” Rule said. “Friends from church who, to me, aren’t really threatening. We’re just friends.”

June 12 will mark one month since Anderson was last heard from, a milestone that Rule doesn’t feel ready to accept.

“I hate that we’re inching up on the one-month mark,” Rule said. “[I’m] trying to hold on to hope that with people’s help and with God’s help, we’ll be able to find Cyrena.”

Rule hopes that this update will bring up a sense of urgency and encourage potential witnesses to come forward.

“We just want to keep going back to May 13, 14, 15,” Rule said. “Did I see anything? Did I think something was off? Did somebody look like they’re in trouble?”

All the classic signs! Oh my goodness that poor woman. I wonder about his relationship relationships before her.
