To start. I have always found Serial Killers fascinating. What makes them do what they do?. I know I am not the only one. This is the place to talk about it. I'll start. Who do you find the most fascinating and why?.

I would be too. He preyed on older people. Couples. Men. Women. Would abduct kids as a solitary crime. Molest them and release them. He didn't kill any of the children. Didn't matter their race, Age. He was all over L.A. He would steal cars. So always on the move. Used guns, Knives, ligature, Manual strangulation, Objects to beat, His shoe. No one else had that kind of MO.
He sounds more like he had no real MO--or at least not a routine one...

That was the problem. But his shoe print was important. They could link it to the crime scenes. But not to him. The guns used were linked to crime scenes. But not to who. 2 different guns. Survivors gave composites of him. Always the same. He was killing every few days in 1985. Especially that summer. Sometimes twice in a night.

You are very well read on this subject. I used to be pretty up on the more well known ones but as time goes on I forget some details about those as well.

If I read this one before, I don't recall. Terrible. It looked old at first based on the black and white pictures but it is in more recent times. They can take the "angel" part of the headline down as far as I am concerned.

I saw a documentary about this one. Talk about creepy!

Back in the old days of the dating game, they always had a chaperone.

The prize was a trip with each other or cash. Chuck Barris claims to have been an agent for the CIA. I don't know if he was, but doubt it. However, I distinctly remember this. The trips were always to somewhere really nice. The Bahamas, Hawaii, Paris etc.. There was one show where the trip was to a city in Czechoslovakia. I was just stunned that they would consider that a romantic trip. As I understand it, Barris often accompanied them as the chaperon. So maybe he was a CIA assassin.

I saw the movie that was made about that. He spoke a little at the end. He also had a huge cocaine problem.

I hope I catch that at some point or maybe I don't. It sounds creepy. The article states no clear motive that they found... Certainly not an angel of mercy, maybe joy in power or control of someone's fate... Definitely disturbing... Hard to understand what is in the head of someone who does these things, I guess we should be happy we can't understand it...
