Not on my screen it's not. That is Pepto Pink.![]()
That's exactly right! And in some states they will never be executed. I'm thinking about California.it costs far more to keep them in death row than not, so that kind of $$ isn't the case.
I did not put that up there, but just since we're talking about it I'll let you know that we will be adding pictures at the tops of the first post because we need that for our new format.I'm guessing Kimster posted the pictures of Serial Killers at the top of the post. Challenge. Can you name them?.
I'm not sure about if I saw that movie or not? I've only seen one movie about Ted Bundy.I'm fascinated by the Zodiac Killer. Probably because he's still unknown. And we do have a separate thread about him here: The Zodiac Killer in SF.
Also the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, as he operated where I live now. And several of his victims are still missing or unidentified.
And Ted Bundy, for the same reasons. Obviously before my time. He was executed before I turned 3. But he grew up in the city that I live in now! Did anyone watch the movie with Zac Effron? I lot of people had some issues with it but I thought it was really well done.
I had no idea he had that much history behind him.A less "prolific" serial killer with "only" 7 known victims - Joseph Duncan.
He killed the Groene family and kidnapped Shasta and Dylan less than 30 minutes from where I grew up. I drove by their house the night he attacked, but it was several hours prior, and I didn't even realize until months later.
If you really want to dig into the mind of a psychopath, though... wow. Not for the faint hearted. It will make you angry. It will make you disgusted. He tries to make himself appear the "victim" because of the "system". But it's not often we actually get to see what a serial killer puts out there...
He had a blog. His last entry just days prior to killing the Groene family and taking the kids. Blogging The Fifth Nail
He also has a "friend" outside of prison who gets letters from him to post a blog from death row.... Most recent entry is July of this year. The Fifth Nail Exposed: Chronicles
That was a terrible case. He is evil. And I can't believe they can't stop him from posting even through someone else. Such should not be legal nor allowed imo.A less "prolific" serial killer with "only" 7 known victims - Joseph Duncan.

Agreed! The world has been dark enough without this kind of nonsense from a killer..That was a terrible case. He is evil. And I can't believe they can't stop him from posting even through someone else. Such should not be legal nor allowed imo.
There are 4 I cannot.I did not put that up there, but just since we're talking about it I'll let you know that we will be adding pictures at the tops of the first post because we need that for our new format.
Back to your question, I cannot name all of them!
Which one?.I'm not sure about if I saw that movie or not? I've only seen one movie about Ted Bundy.
I believe it was a Netflix original. So if you don't have Netflix, probably not.I'm not sure about if I saw that movie or not? I've only seen one movie about Ted Bundy.
It was an old one a long long time ago. It might have even been a network TV series.Which one?.
"The Deliberate Stranger"? With "Mark Harmon". That was good. But you can't find it anywhere now. It was in the 80's. We saw it in School. It was a T.V. Miniseries. The Movie "Ted Bundy" from the 2000's is absolute trash. It was an old one a long long time ago. It might have even been a network TV series.
Yes it seems like Mark Harmon could have been the actor. I do believe it was before I moved to Oregon so that timeline is perfect."The Deliberate Stranger"? With "Mark Harmon". That was good. A lot of people were upset. "They're glorifying a killer! Making him seem so charming and attractive." Uhhhh, yeah. That was kind of the point. Serial killers aren't typically ugly monsters with no charisma. That's how he got away with it.

Interesting. I am positive I have seen that one as I can picture Mark Harmon in the role. I as others have seen so many things on Bundy I can't keep them all straight. Add in books and even more so.![]()

Yah. He was on death row and convicted though per the article. And so many of them actually seem to "enjoy" seeing their fame. BTK comes to mind, he likely would enjoy it.Well at that time he was still proclaiming he was innocent. It wasn't until closer to his execution did he admit to it and that was to lead them to bodies in exchange for time. He didn't want to die. Either did your victims Ted.
Oh, another serial killer that always gets to me is Michael Swango:
The main thing that gets to me about Swango is that he was a doctor, and time and time again, patients & hospital staff reported him to doctors and university higher-ups; they ALL ignored the reports because, IMO, they didn't want their precious university to look bad, and they thought they were smarter than lowly nurses & patients. A medical thriller from Pulitzer Prize–winning author James B. Stewart about serial killer doctor Michael Swango and the medical community that chose to turn a blind eye on his criminal activities.
No one could believe that the handsome young doctor might be a serial killer. Wherever he was hired—in Ohio, Illinois, New York, South Dakota—Michael Swango at first seemed the model physician. Then his patients began dying under suspicious circumstances.
At once a gripping read and a hard-hitting look at the inner workings of the American medical system, Blind Eye describes a professional hierarchy where doctors repeatedly accept the word of fellow physicians over that of nurses, hospital employees, and patients—even as horrible truths begin to emerge. With the prodigious investigative reporting that has defined his Pulitzer Prize–winning career, James B. Stewart has tracked down survivors, relatives of victims, and shaken coworkers to unearth the evidence that may finally lead to Swango’s conviction.
Combining meticulous research with spellbinding prose, Stewart has written a shocking chronicle of a psychopathic doctor and of the medical establishment that chose to turn a blind eye on his criminal activities. <snip>
