Stepfather of Chickasha boy pronounced brain dead, judge modifies bond

A judge has filed a motion to modify bond for a man charged with multiple felonies, including child abuse, child sexual abuse and child neglect, due to him being pronounced brain dead by doctors.

Authorities said George Cole Jr. tried to commit suicide while in custody, leaving him in critical condition. The motion filed said that since this attempt, Cole Jr. has been on life support.

The judge said the state is likely to take Cole Jr. off life support in the coming hours, and he will be pronounced dead.
Well...

Not even sure what to say other than justice was denied this child with regard to him. However, he can never hurt him again.

He was not tried or convicted yet but it would seem since some charges came from what was shared by them with authorities that he was likely guilty of all. They don't generally charge for no reason.

It would seem he was mortified people would know these things he did and maybe was ashamed. It's a pity shame never stopped him from engaging in what he did.

This is a case that I don't want to know the details on now or as they come. The charges say plenty enough.

In some ways maybe it is good, these days too many get out and since there was no murder here, he likely might not have gone away for life and sometimes life doesn't even mean life. One less evil monster this child has to worry about.

Can't say I feel sorry for him with what he put those children through.

Well, succeeded I guess.

IMO. He didn't want to face what he did for doing prison. It doesn't seem like he had any shame. I am not disagreeing with you. Certainly not insulting you. I would hope someone would too.

Exactly. The Sex Offender Registry has done nothing. More victims. Life doesn't mean life anymore.

Maybe. Most of them don't seem to have shame. However, once in awhile they might abhor the thought their mom or someone else will find out the depraved acts they indulged in. Or the public in general even.

I'm not disagreeing. Certainly could be. Just would not face prison.

What it has done is not allow the offender lie about they are charged for.
A lady I worked for said her neighbor was on the list and he claimed it was him being 18 and her being 16 and her parents caused the drama over that. No biggie. I showed her that the registry showed that he was in his 30s and she was 14 and he caused physical, violent harm to her. She no longer thought of him the same way after that and never excused him.

I also know from it that my neighborhood offender is at least the kind that isn't as scary as most. The "kid" at 18 was technically legal, but she was an educator, so it counted to put her on the list. She just evidently doesn't make very good decisions but not a "scary "neighbor.

Wow. Another victim. They kust don't get it. Let them out. Then warrant issued for not registering.

The list is a good thing in that the public should be aware and protected first. They could do a far better job though at making sure these offenders are living where they say, etc. Not that that's easy but there have been some real failures there.

Welp, saved the taxpayers a load of dough, all by himself.
