Clinton Brink, 43, and wife Cristen, 41, were found dead on a walking trail at Devil’s Den State Park in northwestern Arkansas.

Police are now searching for a White male with a medium build, who was seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark ballcap, sunglasses and fingerless gloves. He was also carrying a black backpack, police said.

The suspect was also seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan – possibly a Mazda with tape covering the license plate. The vehicle may have been traveling on State Route 170 or 220, police said.

James Andrew McGann

LOWELL, Ark. — Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) have arrested James Andrew McGann, 28, of Springdale, in connection to a double homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Devil’s Den State Park.

McGann was taken into custody at 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at a business in Springdale. He was charged with two counts of Capital Murder.

I sure can see how the one witness described him as "mean mugging" them. 😳

YES! They got him! I wonder if it was DNA? Seems like that’s just enough time to get DNA results back on a rush.

The presser was pretty informative. They will give us information on a motive as soon as they are sure what the motive might’ve been. It sounds like they caught him based on video. At least that’s what she alluded to, IMO. They mentioned that he was going to work for a school, but they didn’t verify that he was a teacher. That blew my mind when I saw the post up above me.

I think it’s odd that both the victims and the killer were new residences of Arkansas, but they were from different areas.

Evidently he was arrested mid-haircut - looking forward to that mugshot.

McGann was at Lupita's Beauty Salon and Barber Shop on Huntsville Avenue in Springdale when detectives walked in mid-haircut and made the arrest, according to posts shared by a woman who works at the shop.

She took videos that show what appears to be investigators photographing hair on the floor that was surrounded by evidence markers.

Another clip showed a black four-door sedan, taped off and labeled as evidence, being loaded onto a tow truck.

And just like bad cops, rather than take their licenses, they just boot them and allow them do the same evils elsewhere. 😡
I know it! Why didn’t they take his teaching license away? Did the new school know anything about it? Or were they protecting him because “innocent before guilty”?

They didn't charge him with anything. They just got rid of their problem and let him be somebody else's problem. I don't get it.

This is also the problem the teacher shortage causes. Places are so in need that they hire nearly any applicant without really checking into their history. It's like they don't want to know why they are available.

Welp, so much for my theory that he came from afar. He does look like he might not have been familiar with the heat though or hiking.

I think no plates would have been less memorable than taping them over. Taping them sure made it obvious that he was up to no good and planned on doing bad things. Premeditated.

Yuck! No evidence of inappropriate behavior?

Marcum told CBS News that, over the course of the school year, her son reported inappropriate behavior by McGann toward the girls in his class. It included being "very touchy with the girls and having them on his lap and making comments to them and keeping them back from recess."

In an email sent to parents in 2023 and shared with CBS News, a school administrator said McGann was placed on leave pending the results of an investigation into "complaints of poor classroom management and poor professional judgment."

"While our investigation did not find any evidence of inappropriate behavior with a student, we did find his classroom management and professional judgment to be below our district's expectations," the email said.

McGann resigned effective immediately, according to the email. Marcum recalls McGann departing his position about three quarters of the way through his first school year as a teacher.

ETA- Apologies, I don’t know how to make the picture smaller.

Prosecutors told 5NEWS that McGann, who will be housed at the Washington County Detention Center, will appear in court on Friday morning, after which a probable cause affidavit will be released.

McGann will eventually be expected to enter either a guilty or not guilty plea and could possibly head to trial. In Arkansas, capital murder can be punishable by the death penalty.

Ummm, having middle school age girls sitting on your lap is definitely inappropriate behavior. Duh i guess since he resigned, they figured he would gladly become somebody else's problem. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

So, inappropriate behavior with little girls isn't enough to file a complaint and have his license revoked?

SMH

I am very impressed how quickly they caught the guy. I now want to know the motive for the murders.

I am wondering if there was some inappropriate behaviour by him and the parents called him out so he attacked them. They probably told the girls to run for help and he murdered the parents so he could flee.

That's what i am thinking ATM.
