The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

That b**** is competent. The crime shows planning from his murder to her disposing of him. And that's not insanity or temporary. They always try this bulls**t!
Our system is beyond destroyed imo. They seriously need to get it together and quit with this pussy footing with defendants AND give real sentences. A fair trial and rights are one thing but it is far beyond that. And get the bleeding hearts out of the roles of justices as to appeals too AND the making of laws.

Did Gannon get a chance to say don't kill me yet I want to live for another year or two or three? NO.

Right around 6 minutes in, maybe just before or thereabouts, he talks for two minutes of the 'Stauch case. Short and sweet. Covers a smart move and I guess I'd call it strategy by the prosecution... I think all will like it. Worth two minutes of listening. Prior to that is the Vallow case if interested. A Netflix series, a recorded call with Colby and more. I posted the video on that thread as well.

Well they were supposed to set a trial date but nooooo, here we go again. The defense wants a third eval.

It says this is different as it is an insanity determination versus one for competence. If she passed for competence she is hardly insane is she...? Smh.

This is such bs. Our system is BROKEN. She KILLED a LITTLE BOY. Allegedly.

I couldn't agree more.

I don't think there is any allegedly about it. I'm not saying anything against your comment.

Judge orders ‘necessary and reasonable force’ to ensure accused child killer appears in court

Thursday, accused child killer Letecia Stauch appeared in court to discuss the defense's request for a second sanity evaluation.

Her competency was evaluated twice and her sanity was evaluated once. The first sanity evaluation conducted by the state found that she was sane.

Still, the defense has requested an MRI scan and a 72-hour EEG test for Stauch.

In addition to discussing her second sanity evaluation, the judge told Stauch moving forward she no longer has a choice to not appear in court when her presence is required.

"You can choose not to appear, but you will appear," Judge Gregory Werner said during Thursday's hearing directly to Stauch.

Judge Werner ordered El Paso County Sheriff's Office personnel at the jail to use "necessary and reasonable force" to secure her presence in the courtroom.

An EEG, short for electroencephalogram, records the brain’s electrical signals using small electrodes attached to the scalp. EEGs record patients’ brainwaves so neurologists can diagnose a range of concerns, including concussions, dizziness, headaches and sleep disorders.

Many NeuLine patients undergo EEGs as part of an epilepsy diagnosis – either for a new diagnosis or to reevaluate medication if they have already been diagnosed.

Am I missing something? Pretty tired so maybe I am. The following does not make any sense does it?

"You can choose not to appear, but you will appear,"

Yes. Judge. Your honor. And my privilege to be in your presence. Could I please 🙏 be in charge of the "necessary force"?. Someone else can take the "reasonable" part. And thank you.

Ahhh, yes, okay, that makes sense. So IF she chooses NOT to appear, they will get her there one way or another.

Letecia Stauch sues over alleged kosher violations & medical neglect at El Paso County Jail

Letecia Stauch, who is currently incarcerated at the El Paso County Jail on charges of killing her stepson Gannon Stauch, is now suing El Paso County over alleged violations of her kosher diet and medical neglect at the jail, according to the lawsuit which was filed on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Stauch alleges her Freedom of Religion rights were violated while in jail, due to her kosher diet and the alleged neglect of medical treatment. Stauch alleges that she was served non-kosher meals, even after she said she filed complaints within the jail.

In addition to the County, Stauch also named two deputies in the suit, along with a food service and medical provider at the jail.

On Sept. 15 Stauch was in court after her lawyers filed for a second mental health evaluation. The hearing was delayed an hour due to a disturbance, and Stauch’s next court date was set for Oct. 13.

FOX21 did reach out to El Paso County and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for comment. Both declined as they do “not comment on pending litigation.”

She never quits.

I wonder what the disturbance was delaying things for an hour?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was an upset family member honestly as they heard of an attempt for another delay/another mental health eval.
