I've seen where on many ride a longs even they get a dv call, many times the ride a long is terminated because of the risk for the civilian rider.
She must not have been too concerned. When we went in, all appeared fine. On another call, she was arresting someone on a warrant and had me locked up in the patrol car for safety.
Arrest made in missing Illinois girl’s 1996 disappearance, death
An arrest has been made in the disappearance of Trudy Appleby in 1996.Several law enforcement agencies, including the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s Office, held a press conference Thursday at the Henry County Courthouse in Cambridge. Moline Chief of Police Darren Gault announced that Jamison Fisher, 50, has been charged in Trudy’s disappearance.
Fisher is being charged with Trudy’s death and concealment of a body in connection with her disappearance. Her body still has not been located but authorities mentioned hundreds of cases nationwide that have been prosecuted without a body.
Fisher is being held without bond in the Scott County Jail for parole violation and controlled substance violations. He will be extradited to Henry County at a later date.
“The arrest of Fisher marks a turning point in this mystery that has spanned nearly three decades,” said Moline Police Chief Darren Gault at the press conference. “While nothing can bring back young Trudy to her family, the relentless pursuit of justice honors her memory and the unwavering support of her loved ones and our community.”

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) - Authorities say a man wanted in an Orangeburg County murder case turned himself in and was arrested in North Charleston.
Zaquan Shaquez Jamison, 20, was arrested on warrants for murder, several counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon while committing a violent crime.
Police said Jamison called into Charleston County dispatch Friday morning and identified himself, saying he wanted to turn himself in for his outstanding warrants.
The department ran a background check and said it discovered his charges, along with him being flagged as being armed and dangerous.
Officers detained him when he left a home on Evanston Boulevard. Jamison is said to have complied with officers’ commands.
Jamison was held at the Al Cannon Detention Center and has since been transferred into the custody of the Santee Police Department.

Kansas has also had some very horrific cases where reports were ignored and the child ended up dead.

"The court notes there were 89 days from the date the defendant was declared missing on Aug. 12 until the email from the sheriff's department to the defendant on Nov. 8. It was during these 89 days that the defendant faked his death," said Judge Mark Slate.
Borgwardt has already paid the required $30,000 in restitution, which will be split between the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to cover a portion of their costs for the investigation into his disappearance.
While a misdemeanor conviction, along with [89] days in jail and payment of a portion of the costs expended by our law enforcement to discover his devastating act, cannot begin to fix the damage he has done, it tells our community that we will hold individuals accountable and it may also act as a deterrent to future destructive plans such as this. Those that may wish to disappear are on notice that our community will not give up after a few days. We will continue to dig and, if we find that a crime has occurred, we will work to hold you accountable.
