The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert for a missing 5-year-old girl from Rogersville in Hawkins County Wednesday morning.

Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WVLT News that Summer Moon-Utah Wells went missing Tuesday night. Sheriff’s Office officials are asking for the public’s help locating the child.

I don’t follow this case closely and had no idea that they had signed their kids over to be in custody of the state. I hope they’re doing well!
In some ways you should be glad you didn't. It was nasty out there and one of those that went off the rails.

Just shows one that now that she's not the hot news, one of the ones that supposedly cared or caused trouble bother or are even around.

These parents have a lot of issues. Alcohol for sure, drugs probably at least at some times. Separations. Fights. A history.

I followed it closely but had to get to where I avoided channels that were getting so unfair and out there. It was crazy pan.

The parents have been like drunk and called into YT channels in the middle of the night.

He ended up arrested on another DUI.

I can be harsh but it's hard to explain but in this one I did feel there was a lot of unfairness.

They have property not much of a house on it but there is one, and it was a mess like we have seen with some others, outside anyhow. But I also saw signs of kids having fun. A dirt bike, swing, etc., I think there was a video of them on dirt bike.

Mom had a lot on social media and that got taken by people and attacked. It was just a very weird case.

I know it pretty well. Grandma also lived on the property (her mom) in an RV. Some "friends"came into the case who just added to the hype. And themselves maybe shouldl not have their kids.

Personally I think mom did something or something happened at home that was covered up. It still doesn't excuse to me how people were. And I've seen little sign out of this LE agency that they are doing ANYthing and it's already been four years.

Dad talked more than mom and risked it and was picked apart every single time over something.

I don't necessarily feel sorry for them as Iean to her at least as knowing what happened, if not both, but there is a limit to the harassment I also think should go on even then or be allowed, it doesn't help anything and likely hinders cases. I see less of it these days and I hope it stays that way, well mostly less unless some side in a case tries to drum some up.

Amidst all of it a little girl is missing.

Thank you. That means a lot.
I meant it too. I think we are a lot alike that way. I try to say if I am not sure or can't recall or ask and so do you. If you say something as fact I take your word and memory on it, I don't do that with all. I don't feel a need to go confirm it if you say you know it. I don't think we agree on what likely happened in this case but that is always okay too. We don't have too and that happens case to case and in life. At least that's how I feel or see things. Some accept such and some don't, it isn't the end of the world. We probably are never going to change the other's opinion and that's okay too. You're solid though. If you say you know something to be fact and don't question your memory, I DO take your word for it.

'This case has not been forgotten' | Hawkins Co. Sheriff says they're still actively working Summer Wells case

The search for young girl out of Hawkins County continues four years after her disappearance.

The Hawkins County Sheriff issued a statement Friday saying they are still actively working the case each day and they are still getting tips that need to be vetted and validated.

"Additionally, we continue to monitor and address the spread of misinformation on social media platforms, including content shared by YouTubers and other sources," Sheriff Ronnit Lawson said in the statement. "...As we approach the four-year mark, we want to reassure the public that this case has not been forgotten—and it never will be, until some form of closure is found."

TBI told 10News Sunday agents continue to work alongside the FBI and the sheriff's office to determine what happened to Wells.

"We’ve not stopped searching for answers since June 15, 2021, and we won’t," TBI said in a statement.

Father of missing Summer Wells tells of 'living nightmare' and reveals their home has been searched 11 times

The father of missing Tennessee girl Summer Wells says the past four years have been a 'living nightmare' - with 11 police searches on his home, his other children taken by the state, and his eldest son now listed online 'like a shopping product'.

Speaking ahead of the anniversary of his daughter's disappearance, Don Wells told Daily Mail that he still believes his daughter was kidnapped and addressed her abductors saying: 'Be glad I'm a Christian. I just hope law enforcement finds you first.'

Her disappearance devastated the family - but Don says what followed nearly broke them.

'We were a two parent family. They kept trying to get us to divorce. We suffered together. We suffered separate. We are now more solid together than ever before,' he said. 'We are still a two parent family with no children to parent.'

He and wife Candus Bly lost custody of their three sons in the wake of Summer's disappearance.

One of them, Josey, is now featured in a public adoption video.

'(He) is online being marketed like a shopping product. The pain never ends,' Don said.

'It was so good to finally see him. He is a great young man but has to be so hurt cause they took him and his brothers away from everything they knew. Then they took him from his brothers.

'This isn't about us now, it's about our boys. They took three of the five witnesses away. Together we could have worked together to try to solve what happened to their sister. Instead they lost everything. When we lost them, we lost everything. Hell times four.'

He says their hearts were so 'shredded' by the loss that it became nearly impossible to focus on the search for Summer.

'How could we concentrate on Summer when our hearts were shredded that our boys were gone so far away,' he said.

'We didn't know how the system worked... constantly being told how rotten we are by DCS, by social media, by people on the streets, on and on.'

Now, after years of legal battles, both Don and Candus have been cleared by the Department of Children's Services.

In spring 2025, DCS withdrew its findings of abuse or neglect, and a judge formally dismissed the allegations against them.

'Now DCS admits for the second time we are NOT abusers or neglectors of our children,' Don said. 'So bring Josey home. Bring them all home.'

Yes they were taken. The boys. They did not want such.

The public did go absolutely nuts against them.

Soooo many rumors, a lot of made up b.s. to get views. it was crazy.

They could not do anything right they were not jumped on. Accused if they didn't talk, every word jumped on if they did.

Personally I think the answer does lie with in the family but of course I can't know for sure, and it's really unusual for me to have sympathy when I feel that way, but all of what was done to them wasn't right either, but they also made bad choices even with that.

Is there anyone here who has mostly followed this case? There is one thing that has always really bothered me that I just don't want to put out publicly. I've never been able to let it go. Takes a bit of explaining but if someone knows it fairly well, it won't take as much. There used to be some, not sure these days. Just someone trustworthy otherwise to talk about something in it to. If no responses, I will figure it out.
