SPENCER & MONIQUE TEPE: Columbus, Ohio dentist and wife murdered - 30 Dec 2025 *ARREST*

I've hardly started this and already there is new info in it. New to me anyhow and not linked here I don't think.

I knew he had held licenses in Nevada and California too at some point but never looked into it further. I found that on my own google search with his name and doctor a week ago but never really looked into it. I had also heard he had at least one current malpractice suit against him.

Well just into this Entin is saying (and I think it was per Fox digital) that he had several surgical mishaps in Nevada, some source told Fox. Supposedly he'd had basically no surgical experience and not only were they letting him operate but also giving him difficult cases to operate on, and so on.

That's just a few minutes in. Since there is already new info in it, I'm linking it well before I even finish it.

I thought it was odd myself that he'd have practiced in how many different states before not that old of an age for a surgeon and states that are far apart when he hails from OH and now was in IL. I've heard some other things like that he wasn't even board certified BUT I have held off on those including that one as they are not confirmed imo.

However, I am linking this one as it comes from news and a source. NOT that that is always reliable either but that's what we/all generally go by.

It seems, generally speaking, that medical professionals moving from state to state is a red flag.

The rest of it is Entin talking with a friend who is a divorce atty and looking at the divorce docket and talking of the case. That part is all right too but there is no more new info in that part, just their observations and thoughts, etc.

Okay, true to form and this particular investigation not much at all was shared but there were a few tidbits. Not many.

The main one was that they took several weapons from his home and one weapon came back in a NIBIM report with a preliminary link tying the weapon to the homicides. NIBIN stands for National Integrated Ballistic Information Network. I'd assume that means they had the casings entered and that the weapon came back as a match? I'm asking. Not that it was tied to any other crimes I don't think. But several or multiple weapons were taken.

She said it was a targeted Domestic Violence attack.

The video shared is of him. Tips were instrumental as was the sharing of video.

It was ATF who took him into custody near his place of employment. [I've heard it was at a Chick-Fil-A but this is not verified] ATF, that's interesting imo... Due to firearms I imagine...? I'm sure all know it stands for Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms...

Car and video were instrumental. Tracing to car, then tracing car from neighborhood.

Not a big thing in the case, but never knew this, they use quite often private contracted companies to see to extradition. Kind of interesting. So a private firm transports what could be dangerous criminals and in this case double murderers?? I have NEVER heard that before nor knew of such a thing so kind of interesting. I hope they have full rights if an escape attempt to catch, restrain, shoot if necessary, etc...? I wouldn't think they are law enforcement...

Also said as that there were no reports whatsoever regarding this ex husband and that location and Monique Tepe.

I took notes, that is pretty much the key points of anything said. Nothing really shared OTHER than the weapon info. That alone will have a kazillion news, YT, FB, etc. creators running with it and milking it to death.

That's what they do here. The company has to have certain certificates and licenses to be able to do so, so it's not just Joe Blow off the streets doing the transporting.

Yes, i did sound like the companies are professionals, I just wonder if they can do as LE would do if they had any issues. I would hope so. I would guess USUALLY the prisoners are well restrained when it is extradition and much care is taken.

I'm not surprised so much as I just never knew that before. It makes sense actually but usually in high profile cases the pictures we get are of LE doing such, etc.

They often can do more than LE just like how PIs can do more than them with a lot of things

I should add to this thread and maybe it is somewhere but I don't think so that he did not want to sign the divorce agreement and delayed in doing so. Also he told her when he got his first sign on bonus that he was going to buy a house right next door to her. These things come from friends and family allegedly and texts with a friend and so on. Allegedly he did not want the divorce. Back some ago of course.

This case remains unusual in that they had no kids and apparently no divorce issues, it had been a long time since they'd been married with no apparent contact. So much time had passed with different paths of each in different areas and different lives and again no apparent contact.

Just watched Banfield, she had a few guests on including Gigi from Pretty Lies. I think in first grade he got honorable mention in a poster contest, then in a later grade, maybe 5th (can't recall) he wowed everyone at a science fair, then he won a spelling bee, in high school he was a varsity football players, was 5th in his class and a merit scholar, etc., etc. Just a bit on him.

BIl said a bit more now. He threatened to kill her more than once while they were married. Monique was not shy about talking about the marriage and the problems. He said that marriage still had effects on her now (in current times).

I might link the Banfield one, there were those tidbits in it and more and several guests who were on, each for just a bit.

So they were married in August 2015. Only lived together for 8 months (March 2016) before they separated. Filed for divorce after less than two years total (June 2017).
No children together.
She didn't remarry for 3.5 years after that (December 2020).

This is just...I don't even know what to think. Has he been obsessed with her for that long?

That's why I think even though now solved, it remains so different. That and there are some real questions yet like how he got in.

Everyone is theorizing of course. Maybe he somewhat moved on but not totally and when life started going to he77 or his job and all of it, and he saw her happy he blamed all on her?

I don't know. It is unusual. We do see it years later if someone is in a custody fight or something but not like this. Short term marriage. No kids. Little joint property. They did date for awhile before marrying though. She and the perp. I've seen people who never get over their FIRST real gf or bf or relationship but not in a way that would drive them to kill. They do dwell on such though...

I bet he's been menacing her for years and why his office called 911 so fast when they couldn't get a hold of either one of them. They were super concerned with they couldn't reach her also. Makes that part make sense because they probably had heard the stories about his behavior. Also makes me wonder if either of them had spotted him lately.

Apparently he was the only person at all anyone could think of who may have done this per the BIL. However, he knew of no recent contact or concerns, it seemed more based on the past with him that they did come up with him. Work may have known something of course that perhaps family didn't, hard to say. It still could be simply that it was soooo unlike Spencer to be late. The remark though that Monique not answering was almost more concerning well it seems someone may have known of something...

In the presser, the Chief said there were no calls from them about him or anything like that.

I guess we will find out as things come out which maybe things will in filings up to trial. IF they even know. He may well have stalked somewhat or something BUT he lived five to six hours away and worked and so not sure how likely that is.

Most of what is known or seems to be by family at least is from back when and what she talked of him being like back when.

Right now I think it's hard to say with a lot of it...

So he never moved on or got another girlfriend or wife? In 8 years?

And they couldn't find him, not even for that malpractice suit.

Any social media history in that 8 years?

Seems like they even have the murder weapon.

Chicago doctor Michael McKee was arrested at a Rockford hospital where he was working as a vascular surgeon, accused of murdering his ex-wife and her husband.
Wednesday, we're learning new details about the case, as NBC 5 Investigates has learned that McKee was considered a “disappearing doc" by attorneys who had filed a malpractice lawsuit against him while he was working at a Las Vegas clinic.

When process servers repeatedly tried to hand him the official legal papers in 2023, they said McKee had vanished.
Whatever allegedly happened in Vegas didn't stay there.
McKee then came to Chicago and moved into a Lincoln Park condo, even though he was working an hour and a half away at a Catholic network hospital in Rockford.
Hospital officials are now declining to answer questions from the NBC 5 Investigates team on Wednesday about how McKee could have been hired on when Nevada attorneys had accused him of walking out on a malpractice suit.
A ten-year surgical career for McKee began with his residency in Roanoke, West Virginia. His marriage to Monique, whom he met at Ohio State University, ended after allegations of emotional abuse by McKee brought an end to the marriage after just 8 months. The divorce between the couple was finalized a year and a half later, according to court documents.

Monique remarried Spencer Tepe and they had two children.

The couple was killed on December 30, according to prosecutors. Detectives found three 9mm casings at the scene, and a trail of evidence from surveillance video to vehicle tracking led straight to McKee in Rockford.
Wednesday, for the first time, Columbus police say they also found a murder weapon that they say McKee held onto after returning to Chicago.
“This was a targeted attack. This was a domestic violence related attack,” said Columbus police chief Elaine Bryant . "We can also say that multiple weapons were taken from the property of McKee."
McKee remains locked up in the Winnebago County Jail until Columbus police arrive to bring him back to stand trial in Ohio. McKee has already agreed to be transferred to Columbus, where he plans to plead not guilty.
“Our hearts remain with Spencer and Monique, their loved ones and especially the children impacted by this unimaginable loss,” Bryant said.
The children from his ex-wife's second marriage, ages 4 and 1, were in the house at the time of the murders, but their lives were spared. The family dog was also left alive, according to prosecutors.
Now though he faces felony murder charges, and could face the death penalty in an Ohio courtroom.

From what I heard on a show, news show, probably News Nation or Law and Crime, he seems to have as far as anyone can find almost no computer presence or internet presence at all.

Rumor has it he remarried fairly quickly after that divorce but it did not last. I can't confirm this but have heard it many times.

As far as if he has had any relationship since then, have heard nothing and it would seem not.

I linked the one above because even though it likely does not relate to the murders, the fact they couldn't find him is very odd and it makes one wonder what else was going on/what he was up to.

Seems like they even have the murder weapon.

I thought I shared from the presser that they had the likely weapon. I heard he was arrested near his place of employment but this says at it and it really doesn't matter overall which it is.

Sounds as if his life and career were falling apart... They won't get any answers from the hospital, they go mum and present walls to avoid malpractice suits, etc. Maybe some coworker will talk... It is odd few are talking.

I see him as a likely loner. Could be wrong.

With so many shows rehashing what is already known, it is hard to find new news and there really hasn't been much but this one has new news.

He has now also been indicted by a Grand Jury. Man that was quick for a Grand Jury. Now he is charged with four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary.

So more charges now than there were.

Scandal is put out by Law and Crime for anyone who doesn't know.
