SPENCER & MONIQUE TEPE: Columbus, Ohio dentist and wife murdered - 30 Dec 2025 *ARREST* (8 Viewers)

I don't do a lot of news in print so had to look for an article to start this with. There are tons of news videos and chats about it though, both MSM and like Brian Entin, News Nation and more.

They have now narrowed the timeline to 2 to 5. I don't take that to mean though for sure that is when it happened, I think it possible they have video though now that has closed it in and that this is the time they still need, could be arrival or departure, etc. They have released little.

The children and dog were found unharmed.

I have watched a ton on this in the last few days, much of it of course speculation, so people can find such if interested.

Some info is known due to dispatch calls that can be heard. The age of the children are 4 and 1. Also out there are family statements, things like that. Family provided a wedding video or parts of it of the couple.

Seems to be the "perfect couple and family" and wedding but I don't put much store in those kinds of things.

I guess the only other thing I'd add is I've heard it said many a time that this is a bad neighborhood other than the small section they lived in. And that apparently it is not a murder suicide as no weapon was found.

I did do some posts in the Current Crimes 2 thread on this case.

I've watched so much and it keeps getting more interest and so I thought it time for a thread.

I suspect LE knows who it is or have a good idea but don't want the person to know they are closing in.

Oh and no forced entry and the home was apparently locked because friends couldn't get in when they heard the children crying and saw his dead body through a window.

Finally, there are cameras in the area. I keep thinking of things and probably will a few more too but that's enough for now.

Oh and people are calling the dispatchers horrible. That they should be fired. I'd agree that one for sure was not the best she could have been.

It should also be known though that adults aren't usually called on when just late by a short time and it has been discussed that LE can do little more than knock or ring the bell unless they see signs of some emergency. The children weren't heard nor the body seen until after the first response, then subsequent calls were made to 91`.

Wanting to follow. I need to catch up here.
Yeah, it caught me up, that's for sure. I guess as it is a total mystery yet now with some oddities yet the consensus of most is it will be someone they knew, at least to some extent, and not some random stranger.

There's a ton out there but most know the same things but of course some things are speculative and all are speculating. Me too lol.

If you want to know anything, just ask, I think I have most facts down.

Surviving the Survivor is playing a video I gather may have just been released? Not sure. They talk about it as if it is someone going by their house. They say it is "breaking news". I did a quick search for other shows with the news though and saw nothing... So til it can be confirmed, not sure what they are showing or who it came from...

Okay, I have been checking. News station here confirms police released one video. So confirmed to be a person of interest per the news.

They are being really measured here, nothing much is coming out, and they seem to really be considering what they release and when.

Authorities investigating the apparent shooting deaths of a dentist and his wife in Ohio released security video Monday of a person of interest in the case.
Columbus police said the video was recorded between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Dec. 30 in an alley next to the Columbus home of Dr. Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39.
In a statement, the police department said investigators believe the couple were killed on the top floor of their home during that three-hour window.
The brief video shows a person walking in the alley wearing light-colored pants and a hooded dark jacket.

The department asked the public for information about the identity of the person and said detectives are following up on numerous tips.

Authorities discovered the Tepes’ bodies after several 911 calls from colleagues and loved ones on the morning of Dec. 30. Among the callers was a friend who reported having found Spencer Tepe's body next to his bed.

The couple appeared to have been shot, according to an incident report.
The Franklin County coroner's office told NBC Chicago on Monday that the pair died in an apparent homicide by gunshot wounds, adding that the case is not finalized and that additional reports are pending.
Three 9 mm shell casings were found in the family's home, a preliminary investigative report shows. The couple’s two young children were in the house unharmed.
Authorities have not identified a possible motive. The police department previously said it does not believe the killings were a murder-suicide.
Spencer Tepe worked at a dental practice in Athens, Ohio, where he focused on comprehensive dentistry and implant therapy, according to a company biography.
The Tepe family has described the pair as "extraordinary people whose lives were filled with love, joy, and deep connection to others."
"Our family is devastated by the tragic and senseless loss of Spencer and Monique," the family said in a statement.

Found on the top floor yet a friend saw the body through the window. They must have found a way to climb up.

The guy could have just been casing in this video and came back shortly thereafter but I think he's likely leaving. Maybe. Just based on the time. Yeah, they did find casings and hopefully those help.

I've considered too that the person may have already been in their home, possibly visiting... One relative said they stayed over with them at least once a month so itis something they did, and they said they hosted a lot too.

He worked in Athens which apparently is about 1.5 hours away (75 miles about). I don't really understand why he'd want to commute that far when he lives right in a city where one would think he could work, easily find work or open his own practice even. Two young kids, a wife and you want to add that many hours to your workday? It would be different if he was commuting from some small rural community where there weren't jobs but it shouldn't be an issue in Columbus and with his education and specialized education.

In one video I saw this guy looks like he has very long legs, almost toothpick thin legs. In most others though, he looks like an average to husky build. It's the same video so I think it had to be how tight they played it on screen or something. Or maybe some did it closer up. Don't know.

So he was in the alley is the other thing.

Now there IS the possibility this isn't the guy they are looking for but it likely is...

The other thing that crosses my mind is that perhaps the husband was up. I mean he has a long commute. And if this was towards 5 a.m. he well could have been up, he77 even earlier he could have been. I've heard he opened the office at 7 but then I've heard he had patients at 9 but I think both might be true or people are basing that on when staff got worried about him when he hadn't shown up. He allegedly ran the office so he well could have been the one to open up.

Here is the full wedding video. Most videos have had clips but not the full one.

I'm not sure what the point is, I guess the family is trying to show how special and in love they were, but the wedding took place five years ago. And it is sweet and well done and it was held at their home so not the most overdone one I've ever seen or largest crowd, very nice, as all want their wedding to be of course.

It is at THE house. I just look at it as in looing at the house (the parts that are shown), the area, the guests.

I'm not impressed nor does it mean to me they had the perfect love. How many times have we seen picture perfect and it wasn't what it was? And they may well have been great and a loyal and loving couple, I am not saying they weren't but it doesn't prove that to me.

I guess a five year old video is meant to try to show that their family was picture perfect, I'm not sure. I do get it I guess in that they maybe feel this is the best way to show how special they were and important to their friends and family.

Anyhow, here's the full, I think 11 minute video. Today was the first day I saw the full one pop up.

In the wedding video, it sounded like her dad only met her husband to be a few weeks prior but I may have heard him wrong. Not that that means anything.

The only other thing I found of interest is one guy did a bit of a speech and he thanked them, said they had housed him, fed him, helped him or something like that.

I'm not saying he did it but things being said seem to show he for sure was doing Big Sisters and Big Brothers, liked to help people, they welcomed all, he was friendly to any and all. My paraphrasing. I'm just wondering if they let the wrong person into their home for one...

The other thought I have is possibly like we wonder in many, was there life insurance? It would seem if they were the good parents they said, they would probably have life insurance and he was a dentist. Did they have someone that would be given the children if they died and the money? Not accusing anyone in particular, could be anyone if they had such set up.

It could be random but seems kind of doubtful it was not revenge or something. No robbery known of. There is likely some connection to the perp.

$142k GFM raised already of $200k. In only 3 days.

Did any neighbours here any of the gunshots? Am wondering if a silencer was used. Also, no break in to the house?
Not that anyone seems to know of. Saw one neighbor and he didn't hear or notice anything and he said he was outside about 8:30 p.m. but that isn't the window they are looking at now... They are on 2 to 5 a.m.

Someone digging did find there is a report of a burglary in progress the night before BUT they can't seem to get any more info on it and it seems it was in this neighborhood if I recall.

It's hard to say what cops know though, from neighbors or from anything...

Yeah I heard it was going up fast. I'm not the biggest fan of people who rush to do those but I understand it to a point or in some circumstances.

I also haven't heard of a reward in this case, there should be one I think BUT then so far, LE has been gathering info and may not need one.

Most expect an arrest before too long. Hopefully.

I watched a live with STS earlier and he had 3 guests on. All professionals, retired this or that, one was Jennifer Koffendoffer who I really don't think much of BUT the 3, and more the other 2, talked of how urgent his being late for work was so elevated for them, and serious. Now it's been put down to that he was a dentist, he opened the office, he would always call in if not, and some other things. They also remarked on how when he was not missing for long over the course of no time at all so many people headed to the house, made more calls, etc.

Their point was that his coworkers and boss/owner , friends, whoever, maybe knew of something that made them far more worried pretty quickly. Had something happened in recent days, etc. It's a good point actually that maybe something was going on or had been recently that they knew to be overworried...

They thought it odd the dental office called the owner in FL and that he called 911. Good point too really.

However, I can also see it another way. I won't go into that now, but the way it has mostly been explained by others.

Something to certainly think about though.

Another post to follow.

So that was some hours ago and nothing new but talking heads were talking of things they found odd and so on.

Now just NOW I ran into this one from Banfield. I hate when they do things like this. It clearly is probably a clip of more, a tease I guess I'd say to look for more. It starts out like there has been discussion prior and one has to figure out what is going on.

APPARENTLY the wife or someone at the house had called for help about a domestic in April..

I have said before that I don't put a lot of store in claims of a picture perfect marriage, a wedding video of perfection, family photos of such. We've all seen where it is not the case too often.

The guest on this 5+ minute video says the very same thing. And soooo, if true and it was her that called for help, it was not a picture perfect marriage...

I'm not trusting it until more comes of it and is said about it...

I felt it odd too, sorry but I did and I think said above that the family is making them sound like the IDEAL couple, friends, parents, etc. and that the wedding video is their big deal from five years ago. They push the narrative of how good they were together and for the kids and the world. My words. And yet it is understandable.

So I'm not saying anything or convinced but I hadn't heard this anywhere else and it just popped up just minutes ago... Well now about an hour actually. I was watching something else and then refreshed YT when I was done and there it was.

They never do explain it. About the April call. You can tell imo this was clipped from a longer show that will probably come out after this tease.

Well here is more on that 911 call, the transcript. Sounds like Fox News originally found it. From back in April so some months before these murders. Banfield said the woman was crying so I'm wondering if there is a recording somewhere.

It must have been a 911 hangup call and the dispatacher called back to see if all was okay and why she had called in the first place when she said all was okay. She said she and him had been arguing. Denies it getting physical but is crying and I find her answers very short for the most part which would lead me to believe the partner was right there. She never gave her name but arguably it was Monique, came from their home. I think instead of calling off officers headed there, they should have went and made sure all was okay myself... But I guess that could exacerbate things too and if she was just going to deny things... IF it got physical.

All was not perfect apparently. There is the possibility friends or family may have never known about this. To be fair, it could have been just one isolated incident and maybe he was just extremely angry and she was scared... But one has to wonder.

Usually a hangup like that means the "abuser" has come in the room or ended the call for her angrily...

Food for thought anyhow, and documented.

It brought my thoughts back to murder/suicide maybe but there is allegedly no gun... So it doesn't work. It does lead me to wonder about the husband though and his life perhaps...
