His disappearance and death tha gripped an entire community. Robert Bee Junior ran from a truancy officer last November. The search for the teenage boy coming to a screeching halt on a hot July day when his skeletal remains were found. But what happened to him remains a mystery.

I made this comment on the Ashes to Ash YouTube channel.. but I also what to share it here as well..

I hate being critical of someone who is grieving the loss of a loved one.. but it really bothered me that the only time we see Lisa cry was when she spoke of how much she missed Savannah and the other girl. She never even mentioned missing Bonzai in that statement nor did she shed any other tears throughout her interviews. God forgive me for judging but that bothered me.. a lot.

Quoting myself for reference. I gotta say through the investigation my opinion of Lisa has changed. It became more clear to me that her lack of emotion could explained in other ways. Now, I lean more toward thinking she has emotionally distanced herself as a defense mechanism. I dont think she has confronted herself yet.

Yeah... I still don't like her. But I don't think she actually knows what happened. But did her negligence as a parent contribute to his death? Absolutely. And I think that's where a lot of her issues and the things she says come from.

From "He's a momma's boy he would never run" to "He had run several times and he was violent towards me".
The truth is probably the latter. But her mind won't let her accept that. So she tries to create these false memories of things she wishes were true.
JMO.

My feelings exactly! Once that dose of denial wears off and her mission (distraction) to find answers is complete, it's going to hit her like a freight train (imo). I just hope that she gets proper help because that's a heavy burden to carry.

OMG - I followed this case from the day he went missing and just fell in love with this little boy! I had no idea this video series was available but I know what I'll be binge-watching on Sunday. Bless these little babies - i feel like some of them never had a chance from day one! I have a list of cases I try to stay on top of but sometimes I have to step away for a little bit because it just makes my heart hurt sometimes. There's not any of them that I wouldn't have taken in a minute and provided a loving home for. And then some make me so mad I want to slap someone! And there's others - Thomas Brown in Canadian, TX - that I want to live long enough to see justice done. I can be patient!

On a totally separate note - thanks so much for having me and letting me be part of the site! I belonged to another site for a couple of years but people got so mean and snarky with each other, I had to go. Thanks again!!

Let us know what you think when you're done! Or even as you watch. Ash does a very, very good job digging into this one. And there's a pretty big turning point these past few episodes.
Also, I don't know if I've officially said it yet, but WELCOME!!! We may not be as big and "popular" as some other sites, but I'd put money on us being more friendly! And we LOVE new members. Always trying to grow and have more conversation.

Thanks so much - glad to be here and love conversation! I'll be watching this weekend and will - I'm sure - have a question or comment. My daughter and I are true crime junkies and I'm always telling her the latest updates - she'll want to know about Bonzai!

Lord help me if anything ever happens even remotely odd to my husband - police will take one look at my bookshelves, computer history and saved TV shows and I'll be in jail before i can blink!! :p

OK - so watching this weekend - made it thru episode 9 and the timeline. First, I really like Ash Patino - her style, and her attitude in interviews is awesome!! I subscribed because I want to finish Bonzai's episodes and the one she's doing on the lady from Florida.

I will admit my thoughts about Lisa's direct involvement in Bonzai's death have changed. I might change my mind in later episodes but at this point I don't think she actively put her hands on him and caused his death - which is what I used to think. I thought she may have lost her temper because the cops and truant officers were showing up at the door and harmed him if even accidentally.

I got a lot of info out of the videos that I had missed after leaving the other website and had never heard about Keith Brackett until the video series. I want to work my way thru the rest before saying anything about an idea I had over the weekend - could be way off base pending more info!

But God what a sad situation!! If the powers that be had let his sister have him, he may still be with us!

I started a thread in the Crimes area for the Florida case. Please stop on by when you get to it! (I think she’s only one episode in on that one.)

Agree! I don’t think I ever felt she directly harmed him, but I was sure she knew who did. Now, I’m not even sure of that.

Well, the trajectory of Ash’s investigation definitely changed in the next few episodes. But I’m still interested in hearing your idea!

Hi She! Prior to watching the videos, I didn't realize that Bonzai had such easy access to drugs and alcohol - I guess I was just looking at his little face and thinking he was such a kid. My daughter and I were watching this weekend and talking about possible scenarios. We know he had a seizure disorder and one interview with an anonymous friend talked about huffing air-duster. Is it possible Bonzai overdosed or had a massive seizure and died either at the home of the guy that was "the place to go for drugs and alcohol" or nearby and someone freaked out and hid his body, then disposed of it months later thinking the searches were basically over? Right now, I'm having a hard time putting any faith on anything Lisa is saying - she is choosing to remember things a certain way because I think in her lucid moments she feels a lot of guilt over not taking better care of Bonzai. I think her drug use has fried the memories of that time and who said or did what. Not trying to be mean but stating how she comes across to me.

We also discussed a possible hunting accident but I don't believe Bonzai died where his remains were found - again, maybe someone covered up an accident. I could write a whole dissertation about what I got out of the family dynamic and how the deck was stacked against him, but that would take up too much of everyone's time and doesn't bring him back.

I feel like he was alive until at least Friday night. I don't know if the hunter really saw Bonzai specifically on that Weds or someone else that was out roaming around. Based on the aerial photos of the area, there were numerous places he could have hid out for a few days, but I'm thinking November in Illinois is pretty cold, so don't know how long he would have or could have done that. To our knowledge he didn't have any money to speak of so he had to find food somehow. My daughter and I discussed why didn't he go back to Stephanie's? Maybe he thought the cops would show up there and he didn't want to go to juvenile detention. Did he try to go to his dad in Morton? Did something happen to him when he was trying to get there? If so, how did his remains end up back in Pekin?

I still have lots of questions and haven't finished the video series - so maybe some of them will be answered there - sorry, thinking out loud.

She was too busy "using" to care for her son, IMO. Sadly, there's thousands of kids out there right now living the same life. It's no wonder they get hooked so young!

I saw last night that Ash is digging into another case. I'm looking forward to watching it, too. If we don't have a thread, I'll have to start one.

Well, based on this latest information, you're train of thought is definitely in the right direction. I don't want to say too much and have any spoilers for those trying to catch up on the videos. But the drugs definitely play a factor here.

I can't remember which days they specified in the latest videos, I'll have to rewatch and clarify that.
