ROBERT BEE: 13-year-old missing and murdered in Pekin, IL in Nov 2016, found July 2017

His disappearance and death tha gripped an entire community. Robert Bee Junior ran from a truancy officer last November. The search for the teenage boy coming to a screeching halt on a hot July day when his skeletal remains were found. But what happened to him remains a mystery.

Yeah, I mean...even if you (or LE) believes 1,000% that Robert died that night in that house....how do you prove it? Apart from a confession, you have several versions of a similar story spread through the drug grapevine. Testimony would be torn to shreds in a courtroom. Because of the state of his remains, I doubt they have any forensic evidence (DNA).

If this is truly what happened, the best outcome I can see is a confession and a plea deal.

Oh! Thanks for the reminder! I meant to watch Episode 18 last week but it wasn't showing up on my YouTube app on Roku (it's old and the YouTube app is NOT user friendly). It was only in the Playlist and I wanted to pull it up on my TV. (I think @kdg411 hacked being able to view the "early release" instead of when it's posted for everyone...It was just added to the main channel two days ago.) ANNYYYWAYYYYY I'm gonna watch it now!

I just watched the last two episodes of Ashes to Ash. She is calling on everyone to have a peaceful protest in Pekin on Saturday November 21st. What they're trying to do is get the Pekin police department to send this case to the next level of law enforcement. What do you guys think of that? I have thoughts on it and I'm just curious to see what yours are.

I was a bit disheartened with the last episode. It just seemed like, "Well, we've done our investigation. We don't know what else to do at this point, soooo let's just do some rallies." But, I get where they're coming from. They aren't the police. As far as wanting Pekin PD to pass the case on, seems like they should have done that a long time ago. If Pekin PD isn't willing or able to act on the information they have, they should pass it on to someone who is. (But I really don't see it happening. State police taking on a cold case? Not likely IMO.)

Episode 19 was just uploaded today. Haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet.

That's pretty much how I looked at it, too. I haven't seen any evidence that the Pekin police hasn't been doing their job. Does Illinois have a State bureau of investigation? I know that at the Tennessee bureau of investigation they won't take on a case unless the local department asks for help, as an example. Here, they only will move a case forward to another entity if they don't have the resources to investigate it. For example, they do send DNA to a lab outside of our county.

With what rationale (evidence) should Pekin PD request assistance? While Ash has done quite a bit of legwork into Bonzai's disappearance there is still nothing further than hearsay by less than credible persons that a crime was committed.

Good to know y'all are seeing it the same way I am. What I don't get is why Ash doesn't.
I think she probably does. BUT, getting people worked up about something is a good way to draw attention to it. Whether that's attention toward the case, or attention toward her YouTube channel. (I love what she does but all YouTube content creators benefit from additional views and subscribers...)

Like I said upthread....even if Pekin PD believes 1,000% that Robert died that night in that house....how do you prove it? And like kdg said, witnesses are not credible and there is no proof. So, lacking a confession, I'm not sure what else any LE department could do.

Just disappointing.

Protesters want Robert Bee Jr. case turned over to Illinois State Police

A disappearance and death many in pekin are trying to find answers to; Robert Bee Jr. was last seen running from a truancy officer in 2016 and his skeleton remains were found just months later.

Four years after Robert Bee Jr.’s skeleton remains were found, Pekin community members gathered Saturday afternoon and said the police are failing to do their job. Ash Patino organized a protest Saturday and said Pekin’s police have had long enough.

“Things in the beginning were missed right off the bat; he went missing in November and searcehs didn’t start right away,” Patino said. “Why are we waiting a month and a half to search for a 13-year old boy who has seizures.”

The community and Robert’s family want a fresh set of eyes on the missing boy’s case; they’re demanding Pekin Police hand the case over to Illinois State Police. Stephanie Bee, Robert’s sister said she feels Pekin’s police have failed her.

“I feel along with a lot of us feel, Pekin Police have given up.” Bee said.

“Why are we waiting for a confession and why aren’t we looking at other avenues of what could’ve actually happened to Bonzai,” Patino said.

The Pekin community wants to know the person responsible is no longer a threat.

“There’s a dead boy and no one in jail for it. I don’t understand; how are we safe?” Patino said.

A Pekin Police spokesperson sent WMBD a statement on the protests that reads: “The Pekin Police Department Investigations Division contacted the Illinois State Police (ISP) Zone 4 Investigations Division within days of Robert Bee going missing in 2016 and requested assistance with the investigation. ISP Zone 4 Investigations Command and Special Agents have assisted with numerous facets of the investigation and have continued to assist throughout the investigation. Pekin Investigations Command and Zone 4 Command continue to collaborate on the investigation, which is still ongoing.”

Anyone with information about the death of Robert Bee is encouraged to contact the Pekin Police Department or CrimeStoppers.

I guess the Pekin PD could have let Ash know ahead of time that they already reached out to ISP. That just proves once again that there's a lot going on behind the scenes of these cases that we don't know about.

I watched the one from last month And apologize for not mentioning it. To me, it was just promoting her channel but maybe I looked at it wrong.
Just watched it. Mostly just about the protest.

I did find it interesting at the beginning where she said an unnamed source within Pekin PD says that they "know Keith Brackett did it". I don't know when he said that. If it was months ago or recently. But it seems more to me like they "think" he did it, because they apparently don't have the evidence for charges.

I don’t like that she even said that because if he is arrested and goes to trial, they can say that there was prejudice or some thing. I don’t know, I just don’t think she should’ve done that.

What is the group she was interviewing just made up all those stories just to play with her head? Just sounds like something that could be done.
