The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

Ahh, last witness for the prosecution is Kevin Clark, expert analyst. He was sitting behind the prosecution during the whole trial.
Haven't had a moment to look. Expert on what? Cell phones? DNA? Her mental health?

They are in recess now, Mr Clark kind of sums up everything she did through text messages, GPS, surveillance cameras etc, he shows very clearly through all this that T deliberately planned, lied and so on. That's really an excellent witness to drive the point home that she was not insane at the time of the murder. Gannon 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Never seen something so disrespectful. On the other hand, I am a trial novice, maybe that's some kind of a jury distraction strategy🤷‍♀️ . I was surprised the judge let them go on like that without saying something. Cheap move.
Were they doing it while someone was testifying or judge talking, etc.?

It fits with her finger giving and his rocking and more, very disrespectful.

I figured it was Mr. Rocking Boy.

Well that will help her with the jury, giggling with her attorney during a trial about a murdered little boy, her stepson. NOT. She has shown no interest throughout nor cared to ever show any concern for him and right here just another blatant example. He77 they are probably watching Sponge Bob or something. He has done little and sits there and rocks as if bored and she of course has hung her head, acted more like this here, given the finger, etc. It has been distraction throughout even when subtle. Isn't going to help her though, it will do the opposite imo.

They won't need long to find her sane and guilty. Gosh, I even have more sympathy for Jodi Arias, and that is also a cunning b#tch imo.
I will be glad when she is locked away and soon forgotten.
Yes, the part they hate the worst, forgotten, becoming a non-entity, an issue no longer, the family and the rest of us I believe all have long awaited this. It will be the first time the family probably gets to draw a real breath and just a bit of relief since this all happened. And to grieve which also takes a back seat I feel until this process is over. Another reason that it is very unfair to victims that it takes years.

She already has been forgotten at times when she finally (probably by no choice of her own) stopped causing trouble in jail. Not forgotten so much as isnt grabbing the attention over other headlines, etc. I think the last thing was maybe the Kosher food thing she complained of that the public heard. She has had her fun here with her middle finger, hanging her head, now giggling with her atty. She has had her "fun" days out and that is soon to end.

She will become irrelevant while Gannon and his loss will always be relevant.

She can only try to become a somebody in the big house. I don't think that will go that well. She has some weight on her but I doubt she has much for muscles. I didn't realize kosher food was so fattening but then I have little knowledge of it.

T likes to write letters (as in to the judge) so maybe she and Jodi could correspond and be pen pals...

I guess child killers are not very popular in jail. How could she think she had a chance to get away with this AND keep Al ?! She ruined her own life and many others by taking Gannon's. But not insane. Mr. Clark told the jury yesterday how, on the day after murdering Gannon, she drove her Tiguan with Gannon 's body in the suitcase to the airport's parking lot, from there to the s curve in Douglas county, from there to Florida. To pull that off under the eyes of so many agencies needs a sound mind.
