The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

Hooray! The wicked witch isn't dead but she is going away for life.

I had little doubt in this one and don't think any of us did. I also am pretty confident appeals are going to be useless, this was pretty well presided over with few issues or controversial decisions as far as I know.

Gannon's family will be buoyant and then a deep sadness and emptiness will likely come in once the noise and interviews and all stop, if not even sooner and probably a huge wave of grief. Having the perp to center on and lacking justice can keep the grieving at bay, it also gives something one can center their purpose on and anger at. Even so, the verdict and the fact it is over is I am sure a huge relief and reason for celebration.

I am going to give myself some credit like it or not as I called the verdict time just about dead on. What do I win???

I actually on breaks kept checking and saw pretty quickly that the verdict had come in and what it was so I did know before I got home tonight. I'd like to watch it but not sure I can take the victim statements right now. So Colorado sentences right away and it went right to statements it sounds like? I couldn't recall. Haven't watched one that went to trial there in awhile.

What great news!! Long time coming. One down and four more to put away in these current trials.

Oh and did T react? Try to escape? Give both fingers??? Yell and threaten?

Thank you to everyone for providing updates and insights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have a link for this? TIA!
I tried to watch it when I got home after. I first went to the link for Linda's/It's a Crime and waited throughout the waiting time until the jury came in but she had the screen of it so small, one couldn't see much detail so I quit watching her and then hit the Court TV link posted here. Watched it throughout only to find at the end they didn't finish it out. Grrrr. So then I forget where I went, maybe the actual COURT one and watched it all again and found Court TV even cut out parts of it DURING with their constant commercials etc. So I'd recommend the actual court one. I will see if I can find it but otherwise that's the one I'd look for if I don't get back here with it.

T behaved herself basically but I found she seemed to pay more attention (slightly obvious) to Albert's statement than any other... I have a feeling she was also looking at his new wife and probably seething and thinking oh you'll find out he is no gem...

I just went and tried to find the actual court recording which I am pretty sure is what I finally settled on the other day but of course they don't come up on a search, all the other news and stations on it do first as they likely have and pay for "hits" on their sites. I imagine if you go into the Colorado court site you can find it. I don't have that handy or way to do it.

I on rare occasion used to watch her but then she pushed something too far and I forget what. It was one of those cases that many wouldn't stop on or let go on like the girl whose car went into the water after a party or Petito, or another "hot" one, I can't recall sadly. It was so bad she disappeared for some time, months I believe, either banned or hiding (I'm she sure had some major fall out) and just recently I noted she had reappeared and reared her head again on YT. I haven't watched a thing of hers since her over the top deal on whatever case. It seems to me whatever it was she kept at it long after others knew it was time to stop. It wasn't Stauch, I know that much.

She's on the younger side, 30 maybe?, and I believe lives with her mother. Enough said right? She often had late night lives, pushes the envelope, and those late night lives would go on for hours or end, too long, imo. It's the main reason I know of her because if nothing on at a late hour, even though by far not my first choice, she would be the only one on on a case when I got a moment.

I haven't watched the above, to be clear, if I get a minute I will. I never knew of her to "charge" someone for anything like that although her hours long lives I am sure were to continue the "donations" or "tip money" coming in.

I have never "tipped" a channel etc. I don't have it first of all but even if I did, I'd hesitate and probably not do so. A very few I would. One is Lori Hellis who gives all of her donations to her moderators. Another I would feel safe in doing so would be Grizzly True Crime, she puts a LOT OF WORK and effort in and does a very thorough show. I'd not hesitate here either. Those are the only ones off the top of my early morning head I would do so perhaps if I had it.

So since right now I don't have time to watch the links but may start to after this a bit, just asking, she "charged" to see autopsy photos?? Meaning pay me and you can see them??

I'd have no desire to, I mean why? The guilt is clear in this case, Gannon was dead for some time and I'm sure they would be far from pleasant nor show much to the public who is not educated in looking at decomposed remains-- I'm not sure why anyone would want to PLUS if they did want to, I believe they are already accessible to anyone who wants to without paying "Zav Girl".

I'll finish with that she isn't unlikable and isn't the worst I've ever seen, she more allowed for talk and speculation and walked the line right to the edge, I wouldn't have watched any if she was too blatantly bad so this surprises me but then doesn't. She is one of them that would make ya think or want to make ya think it isn't for money but yeah, it is. Imo.

She has a dog though. Many this age do while living at home if I have it right...

Seriously though, I guess I need to watch the above and this is absolutely outrageous and nothing that should be done re Gannon or his family have o hear about or deal with. I don't even know what the deal was or how she charged so I need to take a look (not at the photos but her spiel).

She should be banned if true but if not the negative publicity will make a certain type go to her channel just to see what is going on. Not me, I quit her some time ago and never was one who watched her much. I would pop in for 20 minutes on a six hour live late at night as nothing else on though. Until I thought she went too far for too long on one case or another. I think it was the same one Jared was involved in... The girl with the car in the lake. As best I can recall.
