The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

So if anyone remembers what the monster posted some time after Gannon died of a picture of him on a family trip in Hawaii waving good bye before he jumped into the water Al was just asked about that by the prosecution and if it is from then etc. and accurate of that trip and video, etc. Defense objected and rather than us hear why, they had to do a bench with the judge that can't be heard...

I'm not giving every moment but I do recommend watching this if you followed this case. I have no idea how long his testimony will go. As to Daybell they haven't even seated a jury yet and as to West they have a break and this one is GOING on and is being aired.

Another thing I would add is jurors can judge someone's truthfulness and as we know are told they can choose to believe part or all of any witness testimony based on many things, whether it makes sense, whether they know they lied with one thing and not another, etc.

I think most of us do the same in watching testimony. You can't even see Al here, only hear him and I judge him truthful. He doesn't try to fake emotion but it comes and goes, if he can't recall he says so and when he can recall he is clear on it. NORMAL HUMAN on the stand. So different than like Alex Murdaugh and others who clearly are faking it. One can tell a bit, which is okay, that they probably prepped him some and that's allowed but not feel that they put words in his mouth which isn't as okay. He is CREDIBLE. Very much so.

I do think he was a cheating husband and I do think that part of the story may be glossed over but I think he is being totally honest on everything else AND even when it could hurt Letecia if he can't recall he doesn't claim to.

Some of the testimony so far relates to other things long before Gannon died where Al found out Letecia lied or was manipulating or that he believes now that she was... Lots of things... Claimed pregnancy, claimed robbery, etc. Does fit right in with her rape and Eguardo claim etc. which they haven't even touched on yet doesn't it...

Did she ever accuse you of infidelity or cheating? Yes. i do think this will come up on cross.

I am also going to guess despite her wanting a lifestyle like KK that Al was clueless as to how much his costs were (if cheating and more) but that's just a guess...

Regardless Tee and what she wanted are coming across....

Played the recording where Gannon says and I am so sure that is what he says that he is just worried about his burns. T shushes him. I honestly think it was all faked, the couch scenario and all. He was under her total control and she was laying her story. She thought even posting it would prove her innocent...

Another day will be started before I even see Al's testimony finish. I suspect he is up for a very long time.

A minor but interesting thing, judge releases jury for lunch with warnings of not to discuss case, etc. Tells jury nice day and to take walk around courthouse if feel like (outside) and that they know where all the nearby eating joints are in Colorado Springs. So they don't provide the jurors' lunch? And a juror is on their own getting food and feeding oneself? So as all were talking recently about juror pay (low), parking costs in some places (high), they also have to pay for their food here I am guessing...

At 3:40 or so in I am noticing T has her head as high as we have seen it and seems to be glaring at Al continually on the stand. Non blinking glare basically... And it continues.

They also have an attorney sitting near her now probably based on chats and remarks of how they weren't... Imo.

Talking of how at first he was believing Gannon was just missing and was vague with cops, etc. not thinking she did anything but it was in searching for the car that he changed his mind. and started thinking something else was going on...

He went looking for her car where she said she parked it at the elementary school and he couldn't find it and this is what started him freaking out and he realized this was a lie, big one. He said he started putting that together with some other things people had told him, etc. He called detectives freaking out and they told him to come back down to station to talk to them.

Talking the turning point of Al realizing what she was telling him wasn't true...

They were in house after on whatever day and she was in bed and he sleeping on couch and she texted him wanting him to come to bedroom to talk, etc. all involving a rape story. He finally goes in and gives in and she tells him this story of how she was raped and beat up and how Gannon was too and his burns, etc. and then that Gannon was taking by this rapist... And that this happened in Gannon's bedroom... And that she cleaned up the mess... This was her first version of that one to him...

May seem like a lot but if following this case or have, Al's testimony is going to be I think one of the more important. Harley likely as well.

So when he found that her car wasn't at the school, he called detectives freaking out and he thought I gather the only reason it would be missing was that Gannon was in that car... To touch back on that part. This was his turning point, up til then sounds more like he was being loyal to his wife and was buying what she was saying... He felt if they found the car, they'd find Gannon...

Now back to the rape. I'm unclear if this was before he realized about the car or after. I am guessing after. They gave dates but not going to go back to get clear on that. I guess after as he was sleeping on couch and was resisting talking to her... So after he gives in and goes in and hears her rape story and how Gannon got burned and taken by rapist, etc.,

His mother and sister were there (to help look for Gannon and support I'm sure) sleeping in Gannon's room. So after hearing T's rape story at something like 2 in the morning, he runs to Gannon's room and tells them they need to get all their stuff and get out as it was a crime scene. They had also slept in the room the night before. He told them limited info, just that was a crime scene now. Thinks he notified authorities... Got all weapons from his house put in his truck and locked it and made sure he had key. His one Smith and Wesson 9 mm compact he handed to Landen's brother to keep at his side, he trusted him as he is a jailer or officer or something,

He got all guns registered to himself. He then went back and asked her and said he needed the ones in her name, a 12 gauge shotgun and one of the pistols. Told her she didn't have to as they were hers but he wanted to put them away he told her for safekeeping right now and she complied and he put those in the truck as well...

This is a bit odd to me. So atty asks why he felt he needed to do this, what was his thought process. Al says his first impression was this was a b.s. story and that if something was going on or something happened in G's bedroom, he just wasn't sure but thought his military training, safety is first priority for everyone and that's what he did... Get all weapons out and put them somewhere safe... Still odd to me.

Then he goes back and talks to her again...

After securing all weapons he goes back to bedroom to talk to her again and asks her to retell story. At this point Landen (G's mom) is also in there.

There was blood everywhere she tells him from the rape and the beatings her and Gannon took, etc. His blood and hers. She tells him (or them? I doubt Landen was buying this...) she cleaned the blood up.

Clear what she was doing here, clear as can be. Covering up all she had to explain with a b.s. story. Throughout the investigation she changed things to fit the facts.

Side note: She had been glaring at him throughout until the rape story and since then her head has been back down...

They jump ahead now to T coming back after moving out to get her belongings. Scheduled a time for her to come, she didn't come the first time. He wanted a time scheduled so he could have a deputy present as things had become pretty volatile by then. Defendant came with her brother, mother and Harley (daughter).

How was Harley acting he is asked? Very reserved he said is way he would put it.

Who was at house with Al when she came? His brother, he thinks Landen would have been there, Landen's aunt, the deputy, Al's sister he thinks and Layna.

Did he watch what was taken? He says he stayed in two areas, kitchen where he could see things being brought up from Harley's room and at one point went into bedroom (theirs I take it) and deputy followed him in...

This may all seem like too much but I don't know what is relevant, I think all is. I think here they are leading up to the missing suitcase Gannon was found in...
