Tulsa County deputies looking for 'person of interest' in missing trio case

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is looking for three people in what they're calling a "bizarre" missing persons case.

The sheriff's office issued a Silver Alert on Tuesday for 76-year-old Jack Grimes. They're also looking for his friend 59-year-old Dwayne Selby.

The two friends were last seen Friday heading to a horse show in Texas but were supposed to be back in Turley on Monday.

Family members say the two men were seen eating at a cafe in Purcell around 6:30 Friday night, but the friend who had their tickets to the horse show in Fort Worth says they never showed up.

They were driving Grimes's 2001 maroon 4-door Ford Taurus with Oklahoma tag ETW-614.

Family members say Selby's mother, 80-year-old Glenda Parton went to search for her son in Turley on Monday night and hasn't been seen since.

Deputies say her car, a red Kia Rio, was found on the side of Highway 75 near 56th Street North on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pryor Creek Police Department issued a Silver Alert for Parton.

The sheriff's office announced Wednesday afternoon that they were looking for a "person of interest" in the case.

They released a photo of a man Parton met with at a local business Monday evening before she went missing.

The man pictured has dark hair and was wearing a camo baseball cap, gray jacket, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.

Search Continues For 2 Missing People From Turley

Tulsa County detectives are still looking for two missing people from Turley. Dwayne Selby and his roommate, Jack Grimes, went missing on October 22nd. Just days later, Glenda Parton also disappeared. Grimes' body has since been found but there is still no sign of Glenda Parton and her son, Dwayne Selby.

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said they are not getting as many tips coming in about this case as they did just a few weeks ago and they're hoping someone will come forward with information, even if it's something small, that could give detectives answers about what happened.

As detectives wait for results from the state's forensic lab, the days continue to pass without answers about where Parton and Selby could be.

"We're still interviewing witnesses. We have a lot of evidence from the scene from when Jack's remains were found for forensic analysis that we're hoping might shed light on who did this to him," said Casey Roebuck.

TCSO set up a specific tip line for this case 918-596-8836 or you can email them at tips@tcso.org

If they have searched pretty thoroughly for a ways where Grimes body was found (if they have, I have no idea) then this seems planned or orchestrated imo. In no way am I sure but am tipped past that 50 percent mark of leaning in that direction.

Three people don't go missing separately due to basically the same incident, two of which were together but only one man's body found. Imo.

This is interesting. Not sure if y'all saw it before and I missed the post?

Lee and Ashley Deacon both said Grimes was the kind of person who was willing to give people a shot, or to lend a hand to people who were down and out, needed work or could use some kind of help.

“A lot of the people that he had work for him at his ranch were down and out, homeless, recovering alcoholics, drug addicts … you know, he’d take in people that no one else has given a shot and take care of them,” said Deacon. “He’s just that kind of guy.”

Another friend from the horse industry, Sharon McLeod, saw the same thing. However, she said, her friend wasn’t into doling out charity.

“He did not give anybody a handout, but he would help anybody with a hand up,” she said. “If you were down and out, and you wanted to work, he had [manure] for you to shovel, and he’d pay you.”

Deputies searching for new evidence in Turley man's homicide
The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at Jack Grime's home on Wednesday in a search for additional evidence in his homicide.

The department is not releasing any information on additional evidence they may or may not have found. According to the sheriff's office, no bodies have been found.

Selby or Parton have not been found.

I just want to take a quick moment to say I'm really appreciative for updates and links on all cases. Normally I follow my "pet" cases pretty well and try to share info but I have had no time at all to do so for awhile now.

I had forgotten about this case until seeing new activity on this thread. It bothered me right from the start as it is an odd one.

As for the case, I don't know who did it and don't know if the other two missing are suspects or victims but I think whoever did it, I feel the why imo is assets or taking out one or all that maybe knew someone else was stealing assets or not kosher handling money or something... The two missing could have taken the one found out but they also could be victims that someone else took out all of them.... I find it very odd though that there were, it seems, separate times and incidents... The first two go missing and mom goes looking for them... And then mom disappears... I would have to go back and refresh my memory but were they just told by someone mom went looking and then finding the car seemed to confirm it or do they know for a fact she left and went looking... I remember enough just not the fine details....

My opinion/speculation is it is close to "home" as in someone he or they (if all victims and not perps) knew. It is someone that stood to gain (or thought they did) or had to cover up wrongdoing that had been found out or was going to be by the one or the three...

On Thursday, deputies used cadaver dogs to search three areas:
  • Highway 75 and 56th Street North, where Parton’s car was found.
  • Mohawk Park, where Grimes’ car was found.
  • 59th Place North and N. Xanthus, where Grimes’ remains were found.
No evidence was uncovered during Thursday’s search. Grimes’ home was searched again in March for any evidence leading to a break in the case.

This one is so odd.

For me, the fact Grimes was found but the mother and son were not is just a bit too hard to believe or at least is something that I can't ignore.

Mother and son would have went missing separately and in all likelihood in two different places at two different times but neither can be found. And most likely the son and Grimes went missing at the same time and together and yet only Grimes was found.

These two things together seem about impossible... So the thoughts these things bring would be my main suspicion... I could believe just possibly one of these remaining two is dead but hard to believe both are... And I'm not sure I think either is... Just speculation but based on these odd facts...

I can't recall, have they ever issued a cause of death for Grimes?

Two cadaver dogs from Oklahoma Task Force 1 searched these areas:
  • Highway 75 near 56th Street North, where Parton’s car was found abandoned on Oct. 26, 2021.
  • The area of Mohawk Park where Grimes’s car was found abandoned on Oct. 28, 2021.
  • The wooded area near 59th Place North and N. Xanthus where Grimes’ remains were found on Nov. 1, 2021.
The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office reported the search Thursday yielded no significant leads, and they're asking anyone who may have seen anyone leaving the areas where the cars were found of where Grimes's remains were found to come forward. They'd also like to talk to anyone who might have surveillance or trail cams in those areas.

Kind of late to be asking now for that since most re-record after a certain amount of time.

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office continues search for clues in 2021 Turley disappearances
A year after three people disappeared in Turley last October, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office continues looking for clues.

"We know that Jack was met with foul play," said Roebuck. "But we have found no sign of Glenda or her son, Dwayne."

Since their disappearance, TCSO searched the county several times for clues.

"It has resulted in some evidence that is pointing us toward a person of interest," said Roebuck. "We are working with the Tulsa County DA's office to try and build a case, but we're not there quite yet."

TCSO is not quite ready to name a possible person of interest yet, but additional evidence could help.

"We have reason to believe the same person is most likely responsible for all three of their deaths," said Roebuck. "It would help us exponentially if we could locate Dwayne and Cookie but at this point, we haven't."

Roebuck said it's important to TCSO to help the families of the victims get justice.

"We're not giving up and we don't want them to give up," she said.

Hmm. Leave one where he can be found and not the others? Odd still. How did someone get mom or know she'd be out searching for her son... And no sign of either...?

They have searched the county several times. Who says they are in the county? Criminals aren't barred from crossing county lines. I know it is their jurisdiction just saying...

Such an odd case. Mom and son would have went missing at different times and both haven't been found, seems hard to believe. Maybe however someone got son to call mom or something... We have no hint of that but that would put them together...

One of my thoughts of course was these two did something to Grimes. If that isn't the case, I suspect it is someone close who would benefit financially or THOUGHT they would... Maybe.

Search carried out for two who disappeared in Turley one year ago

A search was carried out Saturday by the family of three people who disappeared last year in Tulsa County.

The family said they won’t give up looking for them and organized a search party Saturday afternoon at Mohawk Park to look for clues.

Carol Selby is Cookie’s daughter-in-law and Dwayne’s sister-in-law. She said she and her family are desperate to find out what happened to their loved ones.

“Anything that anybody could find could lead us to find Dwayne and Cookie,” she said.
