Tulsa County deputies looking for 'person of interest' in missing trio case

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is looking for three people in what they're calling a "bizarre" missing persons case.

The sheriff's office issued a Silver Alert on Tuesday for 76-year-old Jack Grimes. They're also looking for his friend 59-year-old Dwayne Selby.

The two friends were last seen Friday heading to a horse show in Texas but were supposed to be back in Turley on Monday.

Family members say the two men were seen eating at a cafe in Purcell around 6:30 Friday night, but the friend who had their tickets to the horse show in Fort Worth says they never showed up.

They were driving Grimes's 2001 maroon 4-door Ford Taurus with Oklahoma tag ETW-614.

Family members say Selby's mother, 80-year-old Glenda Parton went to search for her son in Turley on Monday night and hasn't been seen since.

Deputies say her car, a red Kia Rio, was found on the side of Highway 75 near 56th Street North on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pryor Creek Police Department issued a Silver Alert for Parton.

The sheriff's office announced Wednesday afternoon that they were looking for a "person of interest" in the case.

They released a photo of a man Parton met with at a local business Monday evening before she went missing.

The man pictured has dark hair and was wearing a camo baseball cap, gray jacket, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.

Jack Grimes was the one found though, right?
Yes. Which surprises me that his body was in that bad of condition after a week.

They say the body the condition of the body is so bad due to the apparent trauma and animals in the area.

“We can’t even tell if the person we have is a male or a female,” said Roebuck.

I wonder if any of the others are nearby. Hope they're found quickly...

I wonder where the 4th person went missing, Shannon Miller, comparatively on the map.

Odd. So family didn't think it was one of their three but it did end up being the older man and was one of those three. But the younger man with him is still missing along with his mother now... A new possibility is crossing my mind but I haven't really taken time to think it through...

I kind of wish we knew the relationships here. It is said the two men went to horse shows together, knew each other for years and are friends, etc. So did they all live the same place or on a ranch and then did the younger guy's mom live there too I wonder or did she know the Grimes as well as her son? Was this like a type of "family" unit I guess is what I am wondering...

They don't seem to have found any other bodies and I imagine they searched the general area at least is my thought... While the mother may not be nearby, one would think the younger man would be near where the Grimes was found... If he also died I mean his body one would think would be in the same vicinity.

And they are saying homicide. There really still is no clue what happened here to any of them... I'm curious. Sad though that we now know at least one was murdered.

video says Grimes & Selby lived at same residence

map of where mother's car located, residence & where body was found - straight line, not too far apart

It makes sense then that the mother, whether she lived there with them or not, knew Grimes well through her son then.

I mapped out where the cars were found the other night. Can you tell distance between the park and Grimes body?

Sunday’s remains near Turley identified as 76-year-old Jack Grimes

Tulsa County Sheriff’s Vic Regaldo confirmed Tuesday that remains found near Turley are those of Jack Grimes. TCSO is investigating this as a homicide.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office will held a news conference at 10:30 am Tuesday after identifying the remains found in Turley Sunday.

Sheriff Regalado asked that people keep their theories off social media saying it damages their case and impacts the families involved.

We told you four people disappeared close to the same area where the remains were found in Turley.

Here’s what we know:

Shannon Miller was last seen on Oct. 19th. His car was found abandoned on 106th Street North on the bridge over Bird Creek, which is near North Lewis.

Dwayne Selby and Jack Grimes were supposed to leave for a horse show in Fort Worth Oct. 22nd and never arrived. Their home is near 56th Street North and Lewis and their car was found abandoned at Mohawk Park.

Glenda (Cookie) Parton was last heard from Oct. 25th. She is Selby’s mom. She disappeared when she came to Turley to look for her son. Her car was found abandoned along Highway 75 near the 56th Street North exit.

Deer hunters found human remains in a field near 61st Street North and Lewis on Sunday. Deputies say animals had scattered the remains, so they weren’t able to identify who the remains belonged to. Deputies say they could belong to any of these 4 missing people, or someone else. Right now, we are waiting on the medical examiner to determine that.

Miller doesn’t appear to know the other three. Deputies say people should not panic or be afraid of the area, but they do want people to be aware of the situation.

Very close.

Could Selby have killed Grimes, even in the heat of an argument, and when his mom found him, he and she went into hiding? Just thinking out loud, is all.
That's one possibility I have in my mind that I have kind of danced around but not said outright... It makes as much sense as anything... It is also why I wondered if it was like a family unit of sorts? I don't mean she was in on it or knew something was going to happen but who knows... Or maybe when she heard both were missing, she knew there were problems between them or something and felt her son may have done something...

On the other hand, Selby could be dead too and they just haven't found him yet and there maybe is a third individual.

I have little doubt the cops know more which scenario is likely than we do right now...

Having trouble keeping this straight in my head, so simple timeline:

10/22 - Jack Grimes (76) and Dewayne Selby (59) leave for Texas
10/25 - Grimes and Selby are supposed to return home
10/25 - Glenda Patton (Selby's mother) is last seen
10/26 - silver alert issued for Grimes
10/26- Patton car found
10/28 - Grimes car found
10/31 - hunters find Grimes remains

Anyone disagree?

That timeline is helpful, I'm not sure I ever had the dates all straight.

I am not sure I realized an alert only ever issued for Grimes? I mean I guess it doesn't mean anything necessarily and maybe the younger man did not fit criteria but one would almost think the mother would fit for an alert at 80, isn't that her age? And maybe I'm wrong, maybe there were alerts for her, I know we heard it from the news for sure that all of them were missing eventually.

Looks good to me!

A Silver Alert was also issued for Glenda on 10/27.

Also MAY be important to note that 10/19 was the day the 4th missing person, Shannon Miller, vanished from the same area.

10/19 - Shannon Miller goes missing. May or may not be connected to the Grimes/Patton/Selby case.

I'm going to start searching around on MSM. Any idea who alerted the police regarding the generating of the silver alert on Jack Grimes? When was the contact made with LE? These 3 disappeared in rapid succession and there has to be a reason both cars were found abandoned so close to each other. Jack Grimes certainly didn't drive his car to the park. Just my musings.
