The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is looking for three people in what they're calling a "bizarre" missing persons case.

The sheriff's office issued a Silver Alert on Tuesday for 76-year-old Jack Grimes. They're also looking for his friend 59-year-old Dwayne Selby.

The two friends were last seen Friday heading to a horse show in Texas but were supposed to be back in Turley on Monday.

Family members say the two men were seen eating at a cafe in Purcell around 6:30 Friday night, but the friend who had their tickets to the horse show in Fort Worth says they never showed up.

They were driving Grimes's 2001 maroon 4-door Ford Taurus with Oklahoma tag ETW-614.

Family members say Selby's mother, 80-year-old Glenda Parton went to search for her son in Turley on Monday night and hasn't been seen since.

Deputies say her car, a red Kia Rio, was found on the side of Highway 75 near 56th Street North on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pryor Creek Police Department issued a Silver Alert for Parton.

The sheriff's office announced Wednesday afternoon that they were looking for a "person of interest" in the case.

They released a photo of a man Parton met with at a local business Monday evening before she went missing.

The man pictured has dark hair and was wearing a camo baseball cap, gray jacket, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.

These 3 disappeared in rapid succession and there has to be a reason both cars were found abandoned so close to each other. Jack Grimes certainly didn't drive his car to the park. Just my musings.

I just want to say your mapping and timeline skills are great. And such comes in very helpful.

I used to try to map on occasion and share and for myself I will often google at least distance between towns or something or even see if a town is near another state's border, etc., find an intersection or address in a case but I have no idea how to pin them (think I figured it out once just do not do it often enough at all to be familiar with it) and sometimes don't know how to link just what I want of it depending on what app I use, etc. I have managed on occasion way back but it takes me so long to figure out how to do it, I usually don't.

So... Very much appreciate the mapping and timeline skills and knowing how to link them/share them. Especially in a case like this with more than a few people missing and more than a few important locations and dates.

I'm not convinced I have the date on when Grimes car was found right. I've read 2 different ones.

That's the only article I've read with that date. It wouldn't make sense for the vehicle to have been found on Monday 10/25. It wasn't found until afterwards.
Pretty sure your original date of Thursday 10/28 is correct. That's the first day we have a post about it being found here.

All I recall is that they were supposed to be back on Monday and were not I thought. I know I never heard they found the car until a few days after that--I THINK anyhow. That would make the 28th correct like you think as well and the 25th quite unlikely.

I totally missed whether or not they confirmed if they ever made it to the horse show? I’m assuming not since Grimes’ body was found nearby.
 
This is looking like it is pretty close to home... It seems imo someone knew they were going to a horse show (if we assume the guy with the tickets was not involved, he says they never showed) and it just seems to me someone stopped it, knew it or went with... There is also the possibility the one guy killed the other which seems to fit better really and took off... I am also keeping in mind the man they were looking for seen on video with the mother who was a "ranch hand" although they never said he was a ranch hand for any of them as I recall... It sounded as if they questioned and released him...

I'm leaning towards the other missing man did something (just speculation) or this "ranch hand" did or perhaps they even know each other... I'm not sure how the mother plays in but the fact she is missing I don't feel is just an accident or coincidence...

One thing that crosses my mind and keeps doing so was did Grimes bring a load of cash to go to this horse show... We don't know enough whether they were purchasing, selling, purchasing animals or tack...

It was not relatives but I keep thinking of a couple of Wisconsin men, don't remember details, may have been brothers... They had arranged with I believe some stranger selling livestock allegedly a purchase of some cows I think, out of state. I am pretty sure the seller insisted on cash although they may have had a certified check but I think it was cash... A lot of it. They never came back and they traveled out of state to meet the guy. It took some time but it was finally solved. The perp claimed I think they had shown up all went well and they left or something like that... Or maybe he said they didn't show, I can't quite recall... I think they were last seen at a restaurant near their destination too and then leaving to go to the man's property but I can't swear to that...

Pretty sure it was solved and the man robbed them and then killed them.

The reason I touch on this/the point is is I keep thinking why would you kill someone and then take off IF Grimes had a home or assets, etc. but we really don't know any of that... And now the mother too... She could be alive or dead...

So my scenario at the moment/speculation is there was a relationship here and it was falling apart and I am looking at these three as sort of a family... Do we now if Grimes and the younger men were just friends or "partners"? Because it crosses my mind Grimes and the mother could have been bf and gf and that is how the son knew Grime and was friends with him... I don't know enough of the family make up here... In either case, maybe some relationship had been good or maybe one or more had been taking advantage all along financially or swindling the other or something... Or maybe they were just about to lose a relationship, a place to live or who knows... Perhaps the one gets Grimes to agree to a horse show and to buy or bid on horses, etc... Money comes out for purchase to go on this trip...

From there, well, the obvious answer is robbed and killed and then there is money to take off with to start over, hide or hope it is never figured out... The mother may or may not have been part of it...

But I am only speculating and not accusing, it could totally be the other guy they were looking for and the younger man could well be a victim and dead as well and they just have not found him... Or his mom... Adding the mom in is actually what leans me this way... If she went looking for them AFTER she knew they were missing, what reason would any perp have to get rid of her, it wasn't like she found their car or bodies or was in the same location... And the two still missing are mother and son and have a relationship...

I can also make a case on the "ranch hand" guy though too.

In almost any scenario I lean towards, my instinct with the few facts we have is this has a financial motive... Or someone was covering up what they did to another financially...
 
I can see a scenario where he works too and it would make more sense of the mom and her car... Of course it is all speculation but the fact he was seen on video with mom and yet LE had to look for him, have him ID'd, find out his name, etc. makes me think extended family nor LE knew him well and I am thinking the missing people and/or mom may not have either or for very long anyhow...
 
Well there are some answers to what was wondered.... So Grimes was in the horse business so to speak and probably of the three it sounds the one most financially in but perhaps all were. I thought of him taking in drifting ranch hands or even any of them doing so which would fit with the man seen with the mother, it did say he was known to be a "ranch hand" although never specified if he worked for them ever...

I keep feeling instinctually the motive is financial and was leaning towards one or both of the other two missing. Of course, it is difficult though to take assets when you can't go "home" to get them, sell them, etc., however, if he was transferring things into other names, etc... Or if he found someone he put in charge of something was stealing, siphoning, etc... well there would be a motive... This stands out to me from the article above:

"despite the transfers, which she said were among a number of moves Grimes made to put things in order after a cancer scare last spring."

Just speculation but I am leaning towards the ones missing but it wouldn't even be far fetched that the "ranch hand" guy could be part of it/the group...

Does the article confirm the three lived together? I still wonder that and don't think it did...

Since they appear to have not traveled very far at all nor left the area, it probably doesn't matter but I am wondering where they planned to stay when they got to the horse show... Did they have and pay for hotel reservations? Staying with a friend? Some stay in horse trailers or campers at such events to my knowledge but they were driving a car so they were not towing something like that...

Carol Selby, Dwayne’s sister-in-law and Cookie’s daughter-in-law, spoke to Oxygen.com about the case.

“It’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever known of,” said Selby, who married into the family when Dwayne was still a teenager. “My husband can’t even speak of it.”

According to Selby, Dwayne and Jack had lived together for nearly two decades.

“Jack Grimes is Dwayne’s friend,” Selby told Oxygen.com. “Their relationship, we don’t exactly know. But we know they’ve been companions for 18 years.”

Last Wednesday, the sheriff’s office appealed for information and released surveillance photos of Parton with an unknown man at a local business. Authorities later stated, “The person of interest has been identified, located, and interviewed.”

“He was the ranch hand,” Selby told Oxygen.com. “He lived in the barn and took care of the horses at Jack and Dwayne’s place in Turley.”
 
A few more questions answered in that article. So the guy was the ranch hand and lived in the barn. I do wish they'd have said how long he had been there/known them.

The two men lived together and they mention the three are familial, etc. so I would guess all three (mom too) lived there although like many farms/ranches/properties, there could have been two homes or a home and a mobile home next door or something.

I wonder if the ranch hand would maybe go with on the trip... I imagine he for sure would know they were going and maybe help load up, etc. Could he have even been taking anything down separately...? Just thoughts, probably not, they only ever mention the two men making the trip.

I don't want to accuse anyone or go too far down a road accusing because someone could be innocent, but for me, the fly in the ointment here is the mother... It doesn't make sense. Anyone who was mad at or had a motive against the two men or even who opportunistically robbed and killed them or something would never be around to kill the mother on a different day (probably) nor would they likely know she was looking for her son, where she would be, nor would they have a motive to do so... Any perp has to be part of the group or someone in the know around them and close to them who either was with the mother, had contact with the mother or met up with the mother... Or she met up with her son or found him... Cell phone records I think could be big in this case, that is if there are any...

I have wondered throughout if the men were partners of any kind, whether business or life partners and now we know a bit more about that. I wondered because it's a long time to live together and work together and attain assets, etc. but are both or one or the other protected and gets the assets or a fair split if one dies or the relationship ends...?

We now have the mention Jack had a cancer scare and was transferring things and such... I wonder if he transferred anything to his partner or put him in control of finances or anything else... Or could he have transferred to family and it bothered the partner and mother if they put years in helping and working with him to take care of the place, the animals, etc. and they are to start over, not really fair either. BUT I guess I don't know that all parties did not have their own income, assets, etc. and that all was fine. Maybe all was fine, the men were going somewhere together...

To me each new article adds to the thought it is financial/maybe someone skimming or stealing and the fact mom is missing now along with son is hard to make work for me anyhow but only with one or maybe two plausible scenarios. One scenario seems far more likely than others to me.

The trainers, the friend, I guess anyone could be responsible or involved. The ranch hand can't quite be eliminated but I see less likely much motive for him but they were looking for him... Why? Was he missing? I mean they did put the picture out... Whatever the scenario is, I think it involves two if not three people.

All could be innocent too and it be some stranger but it is pretty tough making that one work (again because of two vehicles, two separate incidents with people missing and yet related...
