CATHY KRAUSENECK: New York vs. James Krauseneck Jr. for the 1982 murder of his wife *GUILTY*

I'm having a hard time remembering the dates, but I got a job at a little drug store here in Rochester around March or April 1982. In February 1982 there had been a murder in Brighton, which is the town where the drugstore was located. The wife was killed with an axe and the husband ended up moving away. My boss's attorney was a guy who was connected pretty well with Brighton police. He told my boss that they were positive the husband killed her, they just didn't have the evidence.

My boss, one of the best human beings I've ever met, knew both of them. His wife and that couple were friends. My boss said any time they went over there, she was very friendly, and he was just quiet and strange. He said he believed the husband did it too.

Well, it appears they finally got the guy. He's on trial in Brighton now, and they must have DNA or something they didn't have in 1982. If it's DNA, it seems like it would be hard to prove because his DNA would be all over the house.

We'll see what happens. I just found out about the trial today. I'll have to start following it.

Went to dinner with one of my best friends tonight. He said a guy he works with moved up from Arizona and while looking for houses was shown that one. They didn't tell him a murder had occurred there. In Arizona, by law they have to tell you if somebody died in the house. Not in NYS.

His wife and he went online to look up the houses they'd been shown and came across the grisly murder coverage.

That is horrific. I don't know what to think about the daughter's statements, The way she was dressed, And her being completely unharmed. Her backing him up. I'm sure she doesn't want to believe he could do that. But a random person going into a house and killing someone with one axe blow, Imbedded no less, Not likely. And he moved. Hmmmm.

No way. I thought it was everywhere. Apparently not. There's a site, diedinthehouse.com. But I'm not sure exactly what it is. In California it has to be disclosed if the property has had reports of paranormal activity.

I wouldn't even want to live where someone died. Nope.

OT .. my nephew & his family live in the home where Betsy Faria was murdered. To each their own.
As long as they were made aware of it prior to buying it so they could make the decision, fair enough. My cousin lives in a house where a baby died and the dad committed suicide afterwards (nobody is sure if he killed the baby or accident and couldn't live with himself after it happening). When people bring it up to him (constantly since it's in a little town of about 500 people) he just tells them "why should it bother me. I didn't have anything to do with anything". He got a heckofa deal on it because of it though.

Same with my nephew. The house went up for auction in a silent bid. Everyone in that town knows the history, can't avoid it really. After he gutted the house down to the studs and built a better foor plan for his growing family it really is completely different from what the the photos of the crime scene showed it once was. The house is now a beautiful home once again filled with happy memories. I think Betsy would be proud.
