PC I hope brings more answers. Honestly there is still not even info on whether this was someone who knew the boy, family, etc. or was a complete stranger.

My suspicion is that they knew who it was all along, and it'll turn out to be the name that was released very early on but then redacted. If so, that person is known to / has connections with Noah's family. Probably why no red flags went up when they were seen at / leaving the church with Noah. (Then again, I could be way wrong and this person isn't known at all. Should probably avoid speculating until more comes out.)

My suspicion is that they knew who it was all along, and it'll turn out to be the name that was released very early on but then redacted. If so, that person is known to / has connections with Noah's family. Probably why no red flags went up when they were seen at / leaving the church with Noah. Ah, I thought I was crazy, thinking I had seen a name mentioned, by LE. Glad I’m not the only one who had caught that! So much conflicting information but when you’re scrambling to find a small child, I guess incorrect info is easy to get out there. I noticed his weight dropped by about 22 pounds early on, along with his shirt - two things that would make a big difference in recognizing a young child.

So I caught the press conference - it was super quick.
The gist of it is that the authorities determined a POI early on, then placed a house under surveillance. Eventually they spotted Noah and swooped in.

It was really light on details, and the spokesman said they don’t want to compromise the ongoing investigation. They apparently have not determined a motive for the abduction yet.

I don’t have a link to a video recording, but I’m sure it will turn up soon.

I think so too, especially when looking at that pic where both her and the boy are looking at the same exact thing off camera. It leads me to believe they were looking at a person and that area is fairly small and where everybody knows most everybody.

Woman, boyfriend charged in abduction of 2-year-old boy​

A woman has been charged with felony abduction and child endangerment in the case of a 2-year-old boy found safe a day after an AMBER alert was issued.

Nancy Fridley, 44, was taken into custody Monday. Investigators have not determined a motive.

According to the Alleghany Journal, Fridley’s boyfriend, Bobby Lee Taylor, was also arrested and charged with one count of abduction.

He is being held in the Alleghany Regional Jail Monday night.

Yeah it’s definitely a different name. I only saw it in one article, and that was during the time Noah’s weight and clothing changed so I was wondering where that name even came from, especially since some articles seemed to disagree on the sex of the perp.

So I wonder if there are mug shots yet and does the one of the female match the picture at the church?

A few new details have emerged in relation to the Amber Alert out of Giles County earlier this week.


Officials said they still don't know why Fridley came to the church in the first place. It's nearly two hours from her home.

Chief Deputy Scott Moye of the Giles County Sheriff’s Office said it will probably be months before they finalize everything.

“Every little piece puts us a little closer to putting the puzzle back together," he said.


Noah’s family spoke off-camera with ABC13 and say he is doing well. According to officials, Noah is physically unharmed, though the suspects did shave his head.

Investigators continue looking for motive in 2-year-old Giles County boy’s abduction​

The Giles County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation with the help of Virginia State Police.

“We’re going back retroactively looking at things that happened before, during, and now after just to make sure that we have everything possible we can for a good outcome. What’s the prosecution in this case,” Giles County Chief Deputy Scott Moye said.


10 News was the only station there when 44-year-old Fridley was taken in custody at her Clifton Forge home, where investigators say Trout was found unharmed.

“We actually got a picture this morning of him asleep in his own bed, which was a good feeling,” Moye said.

Because Trout was taken from a church in Giles County, the Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. While they got dozens of tips, they say it was ultimately law enforcement who figured out where Noah was.

“It wasn’t anybody in specific that gave us any information. It was good old-fashioned law enforcement work that got this job done, what led us there was not a tip from anyone in particular,” Moye said.

Fridley’s boyfriend Taylor is also facing kidnapping charges in Alleghany County. We spoke with a man claiming to be his brother.

“Come to find out that she went and stolen for stole this kid from a church, play, man, it’s just ridiculous.” Dennis Vess said.

Still, a motive or connection is unclear in this case. Investigators believe it will take time to get more answers.

“There’s been a lot of emotions over the last few days. in some of these cases sometimes you don’t get the deal with happy endings and we’re very happy that this one ended the way it did,” Moye said.

Fridley is expected to be taken to jail in Giles County before she and Taylor have their next court appearances in June.
