3-year-old Kansas City area girl found dead after father says he woke up and she was gone

Olivia Jansen had been missing since at least 6:30 a.m. Friday. Police do not have information on a possible suspect or vehicle

Amber Alert for 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas

An Amber Alert has been activated for a 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas.

Oliva Jansen is 3 feet tall. She weighs about 50 pounds and has brown hair and blue-green eyes. She was last seen wearing her pajamas, which included a pink top and purple or teal bottom. Her hair was in a ponytail, according to the Amber Alert.

Oliva’s father told police he woke up at 6:30 Friday morning and discovered she wasn’t in her bed and wasn’t inside their home. The back door of the house was open.

“Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location,” the Amber Alert states.

There is no known suspect or suspect vehicle at this time.

At 6:30 AM this morning, the father of Olivia woke up and discovered that she was not in the residence and the back door of the location was standing open. Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location. There is no known suspect at this time and no known suspect vehicle.

Not that it matters, but I wonder if he did not call 911 as it would show his location or could and he was not at the home where the door was open... Very likely had a phone off worried about pings and location of himself and his activities......

We don't even know she went missing this day and was not previously killed do we? A foul odor was mentioned above, perhaps she was killed days earlier...?

I am happy to hear they are both under arrest.

Nothing erases the fact though that this should never have happened to this innocent child. While other things may have contributed, the guilt lies at the hands of the perpetrator(s). We don't even know do we, but I hope there are not other children of one or both of these two...?

I lean that way too. These two are just another special kind of stupid. I think they killed, cleaned up, moved or buried her, concocted their stupid arse story... Even the finding near the interstate right? They likely pushed an abduction theory...

You know, in some ways I am heartened to realize flat out stranger abductions are not as common as we sometimes think, but finding out it was someone who should have loved and protected a child is just devastating as well...

These cases.... I don't know the answer but it seems so rampant lately...

I took a glance at their fb pages since i had a chance to last night (I don't do fb) and these two were so wrapped up in each other and the change of their appearance over time sure leads me to the speculation that drugs were indeed an issue. This also makes their nonsensical story make more sense. They've probably been tweeking for days coming up with a story.

It sure would have been even easier for them to enjoy their lifestyle if they would have left her with the grandparents. I just don't get it.

I need a lesson on how to find the FB pages without someone giving me a link. I go search like for a missing page on FB with comments but when i don't know the parents' name, etc. I have no idea how one finds their pages... Do you just put in the area and last name and look for pics that match? Lol. Probably shouldn't ask here... You know, I do know sometimes Podcasts will have and show that info but this case was barely one day long so I never got that far... Nor were they likely many podcasts if any...

I don't get it either. All I know is it seems like parents who do not even want their own child nor care it is like a control thing only. He/she was not going to give the child to someone else that would treat her right or want her. No way. All I can say is they have no feelings of put the child first or care, they lack that entirely. They lack everything human--it is why I guess we can't understand...

Lori Vallow? Even before probably believing anything of Chad or knowing him, it seems like just about anyone who did her wrong or did not comply (in her opinion anyhow), she punished that person, using children or anything at her disposal... I don't like labels as a rule but narcissism, sociopath, I don't know... I hate labels but I do agree some people just lack something or a whole lot...

Oh my. Now I see what I was not seeing. I had to get off of there. I was ready to say the worst things I have ever said in my life a million different times. I see plenty are, I about did, still want to. Telling myself to settle down... Still I may go do exactly that. Not a FB person myself but...

I didn't have a chance to look at the comments. i was just cruising through pics and saw enough to gag.
 
i noticed that they both seemed to quit posting around the same time a few weeks ago if i remember right after posting pic after pic after pic for quite some time. I am now wondering if that is when something bad was happening to cause or at least the start of what this baby went through.

Sometimes I don't seem to get notifications. Just see a few responses here from you and She.

Yeah even just today people are wishing him/them the worst consequences and more. I so could have and wanted to say the same and worse. I saw no reason to stop myself but I did. I typed more than one out and deleted before posting... Looking at it I guess now knowing she is dead... Like I said, I am surprised, someone has not shut it down... He probably though may not have a public defender, etc. til at least Monday...

I wish I had seen this earlier. Just tried it and her link said broken. However, it could be my settings but I don't think so. Guessing someone took it down in her case? Thank you for their mug shots. Looking at just his page made me so irate at these two... And I did not even look in depth... I avoid FB for the most part, on rare occasion I will use it but not a fan. I saw one pic of the two of them with the child on a counter. Most thought it looked loving, I thought the child looked trapped between two monsters... Of course I looked at it knowing she is passed...
