Amber Alert for 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas

An Amber Alert has been activated for a 3-year-old girl from Kansas City, Kansas.

Oliva Jansen is 3 feet tall. She weighs about 50 pounds and has brown hair and blue-green eyes. She was last seen wearing her pajamas, which included a pink top and purple or teal bottom. Her hair was in a ponytail, according to the Amber Alert.

Oliva’s father told police he woke up at 6:30 Friday morning and discovered she wasn’t in her bed and wasn’t inside their home. The back door of the house was open.

“Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location,” the Amber Alert states.

There is no known suspect or suspect vehicle at this time.

At 6:30 AM this morning, the father of Olivia woke up and discovered that she was not in the residence and the back door of the location was standing open. Due to her age and a search of the area, investigators believe that she was taken from the location. There is no known suspect at this time and no known suspect vehicle.

Has there been a custody issue with her? Did she primarily live with the dad? Is mom in the picture? So many questions!

This is very disturbing. And girlfriend's vehicle taped off. House with no power, etc.?? Anyone else try really hard not to go down this typical route earlier...? I did. Wondered about another half right off the bat for one (girlfriend)... Don't sound like dad is any prize though either... Had her at a house with no utilities etc.??

I have thought of many cases where an open door was staged... It means nothing to me as far as abduction or not, etc. LE may know better...

Yeah did they still own this home? Must have almost to go back there, unless it was an abandoned property or a family property. No one may be a "suspect" yet but I sure am far away from a stranger or random abduction thought at the moment...

Body of missing 3-year-old Olivia Jansen found in KCK, police say

Police have found the body of a missing Kansas City, Kansas, girl whose disappearance triggered a statewide AMBER Alert.

Olivia Jansen was just 3 years old.

KCK Police said her body was found not far from 34th and Steele Road after getting a tip of a body off a trail. The area is just on the other side of Interstate 635 from where police searched most of the day.

Officers are still processing the scene, and they have not formally identified the body, but police are fairly certain it is the young girl.

The AMBER Alert has been canceled.
