Members of Swetlik’s family released the following statement to ABC News;

“Faye is a bubbly and happy little girl. She always wants to play and have fun. She’s not the type of kid that will up and walk away.

Her mom was very attentive in watching Faye. Faye pays attention to her surroundings.

Her grandmother is very distraught about what has happened because they are very close. We just want to find Faye and bring her home.”

Also, this has to be the weirdest statement ever released by a family searching for their child. I’m not implying guilt or anything like that but it just sounds so...forced. I’m sure it has to be incredibly difficult to know what to say, and I’m trying not to be too judgmental, it’s just strange.
“Faye pays attention to her surroundings”???

Agree, something feels hinky to me. "Her mom was very attentive in watching Faye." Sounds like someone's trying too hard to release a "good" statement (for lack of better wording on my part). And the next sentence about her grandmother being "very distraught..." Very strange; doesn't sound at all spontaneous, if that makes sense.

Sounds like the grandma cared most about little Faye.

HLN is having an update right now/LE statement. They are going to release some video on Monday like her getting of the bus, etc. They also are saying they have received a lot of videos and encourage people to keep sharing it.

That video can be seen here:

I have never seen that, I saw the still shot of her on the bus. Interesting. Is that likely a teen behind her on the bus? She sure looks around before getting off.

I did not catch all of what they are to release on Monday but something to do with the bus was part of it. It could have been old coverage on HLN but I don't think so.

I see in the article you posted that she lives with her grandmother and mother.

She sure looks like a happy child in most photos. I hope as do we all they find this child somewhere safe, not looking likely though.

I assumed it was this child: "A neighbor whose son rides bus everyday" but it could be another neighborhood child. I'm not sure if he was a teen, but my impression was an older grade schooler. Even a 5th or 6th grader is going to look huge compared to a 6-year-old.

Could they have said they are going to release stuff FROM Monday? As in, the day she disappeared? Seems weird to me they would wait 5 days to release things.

The news actually remarked about they were going to release but it would not be until Monday, saying there would be time before it was ready to release so I don't think so. But the part that it might be from Monday may be the case. It seemed to be a current thing and they even remarked that they had received quite a bit of video and some would be released, but not until Monday. I will try to look it up and see if I can find it.

Law enforcement close off neighborhood as search for 6-year-old Faye Swetlik continues
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The search continues at Churchill Heights on Wednesday for 6-year-old Faye Swetlik.
Up until this point, the search has largely been concentrated to Churchill Heights. As of about 10 a.m., law enforcement closed the neighborhood to anyone who isn’t a resident to protect the integrity of the investigation. There are law enforcement vehicles stationed at the front of the neighborhood, as well as other entrances, to stop anyone who doesn’t live in the development from coming inside.
While officials continue to search the neighborhood, they have also expanded their search to include the surrounding area.

Close family friends said earlier this morning that it’s been a tough couple of days, but it’s been especially hard over the past 12 hours. They said, over the last 12 hours, rumors have really ramped up on social media and it’s been hard processing what’s true versus what isn’t. They said, right now, they are worried and upset, but they are trying to remain hopeful They also said that the press conference this morning did lift their spirits, saying no news at this point, is good news.

Cayce Police announced this morning that they will be holding daily press conferences each morning to provide updates on the search for Faye.

Have we ever heard of them closing off a neighborhood before? Do They have information that she is close by?

I guess after having the neighborhood on lockdown and being able to interview everyone around, they have a sense of who normally comes and goes on a regular basis.
From the latest news about these two cars, I’d reckon they have some doorbell cam footage that gives a nice overview of different vehicles nearby that day.

These cars may or may not have anything to do with Faye. I hope the owners get in touch with LE as soon as possible.

Having a 6 year old myself, this one hits close to home:cry:
