SPENCER & MONIQUE TEPE: Columbus, Ohio dentist and wife murdered - 30 Dec 2025 *ARREST*

Seems more likely he entered through the back just because the video was there of him in the alley, the back seems more likely. Not known though. At this point.

Also if no one answered the door, did he find his way around in the dark or know the layout? Was he ever there before, inside or out?

Did I read there was no forced entry? So the ex had a way of getting in the house? Or were the doors unlocked? Where were their bodies found? I thought it was in the bedroom.
Yes it said no forced entry. I noticed that too. I think it said the bodies were found on the second floor. So would that be the top floor? 3 floors including the basement, but generally a basement is not considered a floor. In the UK we say ground floor and first floor but I believe you call them first floor and second floor.

I read that Spencer would get to work early and therefore leave home early so maybe he was up and getting ready.
He could even have been ambushed as he left the house and then taken back inside.

There is a lot of confusion as to which floor and it also has people thinking the caller who saw the body was in the house instead of calling from outside. Another reason for them thinking that is they can hear the kids in the background on the call so they think he is inside. We call it first and second floors but ground floor would mean first floor here too. We call a basement a basement, at least where I live that's how it is. I know it is different in different places.

Gray had the house layout but the skipped a bit of it to focus on what he wanted to show, or ran through some parts fast.

I'm not even sure Spencer was seen in THEIR bedroom but I assume that's what the case was.

Yes, that's a thought. That's pretty early though even for that but it is possible. If there is any weather also or bad roads, you'd leave earlier, or most would, because you'd know it could take more time. Going over the fence in back would be easy as well. Gray did another one after they were found that was like 18 minutes or something showing the fence up close and there is a board running right through the middle horizontally which would give you a foot hold to step onto and then you could go over.

He'd have to know his hours and habits though I'd think in that case. Lying in wait outside the home I mean.

I watched John Kelly last night and he'd done a bit of a deep dive into the doctor. He said there is a big lawsuit against the doctor, as well as against others. I'm not sure that has much meaning in relation to this but he is a profiler and was saying the stress that would add and how he may well be at be a type that blamed someone for everything that happened to him, like that and other things, blaming Monique. Guessed he is a a narcissist as well.

I think it more likely whatever was recently going on in the old divorce would be a big part of it. I wonder who was bringing it back to court... And over what for goodness sakes. Odd that the filings and events can be seen but no one seems to know that, nor what issue it was over. You'd think someone could get the paperwork filed for it.

If she truly was scared of him you wouldn't think she'd go back arguing over anything minor at least.

He is due in court in Illinois today. I don't know if they will have live streaming but since it is the Chicago area, one would think reporters will attend given the nationwide interest in the case. I doubt much will be heard in it but maybe we will get a tidbit or two.

Here is a 13-14 minute video from Gray after the arrest. Not really anything new or earth shattering on it but he has a viewer that did a walk around the Tepe block which helps with getting another view of things and in closer detail. He also had the arrest info which is where I took the address from for the surgeon, etc. down to the apartment number (which I still have to look up in more detail). Interesting just to see the area imo. And not long as so many of his are.

The viewer is walking apparently the opposite way from the way the video was which had the suspect coming towards the home.

I did note there is no service door to the garage in the alley so there'd be no entry through the garage unless forcing one of the car sized doors open or busting through but we know there was no type of forced entry so he likely DID climb the fence and go over. It's very doubtful he was in the alley and went around to the front imo. Many more cameras there, etc. and the video has him in the alley behind.

I'd expect he will get no bond or an extremely high bond in this double murder case and leaving two children in the home, albeit alive, still horrible.

I'm really waiting for people to start talking and reporters to try to find like coworkers of McKee and so on, or family, friends, etc. So very quiet that way...

Most are talking about his 5 to 6 hour drive to do this but I still wonder if he couldn't have been "home" for the holidays or some such. he had family in OH and went to U there. This is just speculation on my part but it all is on any part. Maybe he did this right before he was going to head back to Chicago. He may have even had a few days to "case" the area... As far as we know right now, he avoided the front and cameras on the street out there and was seen in the alley and seemed aware of cameras and kind of hid from them...

Okay, I went and did it while I had it up and was thinking of it. Here is where that person (I saw in a chat) or whoever she heard was getting this. His particular unit was sold for $400K in July of 2025. That's exactly what I heard that he had just bought a condo for that price overlooking Lake Michigan. I GUESS his address could be outdated and he could have sold it but it is more likely he bought it then. Pretty decent square footage for a condo. 1700+ square feet, that's good sized, house sized. I haven't looked at the pics yet but guessing if he faced the lake he had a very good view from the 12th floor.

Okay. Not so much really. Very basic, not up to date imo, cheap in some ways as to fixtures. Every view seems to be from the rooftop otherwise they face buildings. Sterile looking. More carpet than hardwood or even laminate.

Makes sense though. $400K for a condo in Chicago didn't sound like much really for $$ in what I heard was overlooking the lake. Seems to me in looking at pics of two units now the view is only from the roof. I mean it is "decent" I guess but nothing great. Unmatching cabinets in the bathroom, dark outdated ones. Those cheap handles in kitchen, white appliances. I just fast looked at pics maybe he has a view but I didn't see one that I thought came from that apartment. And I guess he could update it possibly, condos are owned and this one was purchased.

For a Chicago based surgeon, I guess I'd expect nicer...

I also heard he is married now, again in a chat, not sure if that's true at all. Not sure why no one has yet verified some of this or is at least trying to.

So Spencer would open his office at 7 and a 1.5 hour commute means leaving at 5.30 a.m. so he well could have been up already at the time of the murders stated as 3.52 a.m.
Definitely is possible. I know I like hours to before I go to work. When younger, I more preferred to sleep until last minute but that passed and I like to have time before work these days or last few decades.

I have heard varying things about when he should have been there from 7, 7:30 and 8 and 9. I believe though he opened the office typically and was on time or early and so I believe 7 or 7:30.

BUT he was found in the bedroom and near the bed or just off the bed so he very well could have been asleep. Hard to say. Most men I have known get up, shower, dress and leave. I guess he could have been getting dressed in the room but it still wouldn't mean he opened the door or was forced back in. That would be very early to be leaving for work yet at 3:52. Too early imo, even 5 would be pretty early even with the commute and time by which he had to be there.

I guess we aren't going to know about how he got in at this point. Something though did give them a specific time as to the murders. If they had cameras, with sound, the shots could have registered even with an outside camera maybe...

This article says they caught the ex based on his car caught on CCTV.

I don't think much of Koffendoffer. She also says she thinks he staked out and "got" the pass code for the door. No way is that as easy as she makes it sound. I think I heard her say that on a show too. I don't think that is how he got in for a moment, by "obtaining" the pass code.

Yes, police used I am sure video, license plate readers, possibly even gas station stops, and all sorts of things to track this vehicle.

I have been looking for this ALL day. Here is the hearing. He waived extradition. The attorney said something about he asserts his right to counsel, and to most expeditiously defend himself against these charges, he believes extradition would be the most expedient (my wording but same gist). She said something else but I could not catch it.

Short and sweet.

She of course won't be his atty in OH as this was in IL.

Yeah I liked them all back then pretty much. Don't know if they've changed or I have with a few of them. I should know Gloria's daughter too. Same thing, I can picture her. I hated it when Court TV changed and stopped almost everything they'd been covering and doing.
I remember I was at my parents. It was announcing it was changing the beginning of the year. So it had to be at least 2016. My mom got sick 2017. I said....Great. watch, it's going to turn to crap. It did. Turns out I an psychic.

I've hardly started this and already there is new info in it. New to me anyhow and not linked here I don't think.

I knew he had held licenses in Nevada and California too at some point but never looked into it further. I found that on my own google search with his name and doctor a week ago but never really looked into it. I had also heard he had at least one current malpractice suit against him.

Well just into this Entin is saying (and I think it was per Fox digital) that he had several surgical mishaps in Nevada, some source told Fox. Supposedly he'd had basically no surgical experience and not only were they letting him operate but also giving him difficult cases to operate on, and so on.

That's just a few minutes in. Since there is already new info in it, I'm linking it well before I even finish it.

I thought it was odd myself that he'd have practiced in how many different states before not that old of an age for a surgeon and states that are far apart when he hails from OH and now was in IL. I've heard some other things like that he wasn't even board certified BUT I have held off on those including that one as they are not confirmed imo.

However, I am linking this one as it comes from news and a source. NOT that that is always reliable either but that's what we/all generally go by.
