I have actually been told by a mental health professional that chronic drug usage can create schizophrenia. That’s been a known issue for a long time.I've seen some good comments under videos. First of all TMZ is a paid defense whore.
But here is a comment: You are NOT to diagnose something like schizophrenia until the person is off all other illegal street drugs, etc. They go on to say was NICK ever off such or clean? Doubtful imo.
Hard to say. I've heard that too by the way and it definitely can worsen it too.I have actually been told by a mental health professional that chronic drug usage can create schizophrenia. That’s been a known issue for a long time.
However, if the reports are true about his childhood, I still think he could’ve had organic schizophrenia that was just exasperated by chronic drug usage.
That is the first time I have heard her name since the beginning of this.Take this for what it's worth which is probably a grain of salt. There is so much out there and clickbait in this thing.
Just watched a short that said Rob left all assets to his adopted daughter of Penny Marshall and that all he left his bio kids is usage rights to the mansion.
Says Tracy did it all on her own and never used nepotism or her father's name. That she moved in across the street and helped take care of Nick, getting him to rehab, etc. I thought Romy lived across the street? They both did?
The whole thing seemed canned and faked and like AI or something was reading it. That's why I'm not linking it.
I only mention it to ask if anyone else has heard these things and if there is any basis to them?
Every bit of news, and there has been a LOT of course and clickbait, etc. if they mention the adopted and Penny at all, it is in passing. Not a hint of whether the other kids are close to her, whether she would inherit from Rob, whether he still cared or saw her, etc. Until this one I mentioned. It seemed like pure clickbait and maybe not accurate BUT... WHY is she never mentioned. By the stepsiblings, etc. and other people? That is the first time I have heard her name since the best of this.
Not my fave for some reasons but he's always a sane voice and my reasons are not related to his take on most things.
And he touches on a "Dopey" show with Nick on it... I hadn't seen. Have others?
Why write an article then speculating? If the police had been called it could have prevented the murders.
Tragic: Conan O'Brien could have saved Reiners' lives if he hadn't ordered guests not to call the police when Nick spun out of control

Comedian and late-night host Conan O'Brien might or might not have cause to regret his decision.
We cannot know his motives, so we will not speculate. But it seems clear that a different decision from O'Brien might have produced a different result.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail+, multiple guests present at the comedian's Dec. 13 Christmas party have come forward to report that an argument between 78-year-old Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his troubled son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner, grew so heated that one guest suggested calling the police, only to have O'Brien refuse.
"They got in an argument, the father and son," one source recalled. "It got so bad and loud someone wanted to call the police to report it.
"But Conan stepped in and said, 'It's my house, my party, I'm not calling the police.' He talked them out of calling the police," the source added.
Hours later, Nick allegedly slashed the throats of both his father, Rob, and mother, 70-year-old Michele Singer Reiner.
Could O'Brien have prevented the murders?
"When the s*** was hitting the fan," a second source recalled, "somebody said we need to call the police. The conversation was about getting this kid put into a mental-health hold."
That second source confirmed O'Brien's refusal to notify authorities.
"Conan O'Brien stepped in and said, 'No, I don't want the police at my house,' the source added. "It makes sense; who wants the cops showing up creating a scene? But the argument between Rob and Nick was pretty intense."
Meanwhile, the first source speculated about how O'Brien must have taken the news of the Reiners' eventual murder.
"Only the murderer is responsible," the original source said. "But it must be gut-wrenching for Conan to learn that this is how things turned out. I'm sure that night is replaying for him over and over. It's just so awful and sad."
On the whole, the guests' recollections raise several questions.
First, why did Rob Reiner engage in a public argument with his mentally disturbed son? Even if you feel intense frustration, as the elder Reiner undoubtedly did, what good could a confrontation do? After all, yelling at someone with a mental illness seems like the definition of pointless.
Perhaps President Donald Trump wrote too much and too soon about his famous Hollywood antagonist's tragic demise. Still, the president had it right when he noted that the legendary actor and director had anger issues.
Second, what explains O'Brien's refusal to call police?
If the comedian acted out of deference to the Reiners -- not wanting to embarrass them by involving law enforcement in a family dispute -- then one could understand the motive.
If, however, O'Brien acted from mere pride -- thinking primarily of himself, his house, and his party -- then he has much on which to reflect with shame.
Finally, did liberalism play a role in the evening's tragic events?
By all accounts, Nick Reiner had exhibited erratic behavior throughout the evening. But the elder Reiner -- the one presumably not suffering from mental illness -- also allowed the argument to grow into an unseemly public confrontation when he ought to have known better.
Thus, did O'Brien fail to act because liberals abhor accountability? Did he fail to act because liberals loathe the police? What evidence do we have that liberals would even recognize bad behavior if they saw it?
Of course, we cannot answer these questions. We can only pray that O'Brien, for his sake, had the right motives, and that the Reiners have finally found peace.
Exactly. No mention of her whatsoeverEvery bit of news, and there has been a LOT of course and clickbait, etc. if they mention the adopted and Penny at all, it is in passing. The inserting of political sh*t in any of this is not something I even take note of.If the police had been called it could have prevented the murders.

Everything indicates it. Agree.Oh ffs. Nick. In the clink until after the 1st. I hope I definitely. His behavior to me. He knew what he was doing.
I don't know but if LE had been called then the knife attacks may not have subsequently happened. It sounds like a pretty major altercation was taking place and i guess it spilled over and continued back at the residence or Nick was enraged by the row and took revenge by killing them while they slept. It's clearly the motivation for the slayings anyway. The inserting of political sh*t in any of this is not something I even take note of.
Conan was worried about his own party and how it went it would seem to me.
Did a one of them care after what was become allegedly a pretty big blow up to check on Rob and Michelle after they left, or see them home or even check the next morning? To say to both chill down and separate Nick from the parents for the night etc.? Some friends. That being said, I'm not the biggest fan of how it seems Rob dealt with Nick in life and how Nick imo played them.
I agree that the row is now sounding big. At first, I think because of names, power, image some were playing it down. Conan's party is "THE" party (don't ask me why as no idea) and he didn't want any such thing happening there, LE called or his party to be affected. It does sound like a FEW have more of a conscience.I don't know but if LE had been called then the shooting may not have subsequently happened. Possibly. All of that may be true, may have happened, if and if etc. Conan dealt with Nick a lot? Haven't seen that. And Rob may have resisted or talked with influence poewr and money about his adult son beyond his 20s being arrested we won't ever know right?I think Conan was trying to let the Reiners deal with it. They'd dealt with him before and no murders happened. If the cops had been called it may not have stopped anything. I think Rob would have resisted having his kid arrested.
They all have phones and any one of then could have called the cops if they were concerned. But they didnt. They didn't need the host's permission.I agree that the row is now sounding big. I don't know if it still would have happened or not, we will never know I guess, but no one did a thing and apparently some were stopped from doing anything. But they too, if enough of a concern or conscience should have made their excuses, left, and did something about it and checked on the safety of the parents.
A lot of this is why I generally don't do "Hollywood" cases. I was into this one from the start, about the only time I do follow one. I have to be caught up in the beginning or I basically never do.
We all have regrets in life and things we had done differently and hindsight is 20/20 but image is such a factor there and at such a party. Some seemed to worry and car but they even did not follow through.
They are just people whether they think themselves above or not. What really matters in this world? People imo. I mean I suppose to some making history might or being a "somebody" but in the long run...?
I'm not getting a great pic of Rob either these days but imo Nick was a manipulative spoiled brat who kept it all about him.
