Tennessee Amber Alert issued for missing teen out of Sumner County

Sumner County officials are asking everyone to be on the lookout as they continue their search for a missing and endangered teenager they say has autism.

An Amber Alert has been issued by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

"Carefully check your property… and any other locations where a child who enjoys hiding might be," the Sumner County Sheriff's Office has said.

Fifteen-year-old Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers was last seen on Monday "near Stafford Court in Hendersonville wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants and glasses," the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said on X.

Missing teen’s father demands answers from Sumner County Sheriff’s Office for ‘lack of communication’

It’s been almost 15 months since Sumner County teen Sebastian Rogers disappeared. His case made national headlines, but his father said the search is losing momentum ahead of National Missing Children’s Day.

“He is my world. I need him,” Sebastian’s father, Seth Rogers, said. “I need him back with me.”

On Friday, May 23, Seth spoke with News 2 at the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. Frustrated and emotional, he said he feels like he’s carrying the weight of the investigation alone.

“I don’t even know, if a tip comes in, if I shouldn’t track it down because I don’t know if they can do their job properly because so far, they haven’t…Their lack of communication with the public, their lack of communication with me is all telling me that they don’t care that my son is missing,” Seth explained.

“I would love to see them actually conducting more searches,” Seth said. “I’d like to have some communication on the tips that have come in, just with me, so that I know that when a tip comes in, I’m not following up on the job they’re supposed to do.”

“I’m trying to find my son,” he added. “They are trying to solve a case. You can’t solve a case if you don’t find my son.”

Seth told News 2 only one detective is actively assigned to the case, adding that he is often left to chase down the same leads also sent to law enforcement.

“We need more than just one set of eyes on this case,” Sebastian’s father said.

“It all falls on my shoulders to ask people to help find my son,” Seth continued. “My son means something to me. These people should be doing their job.”

News 2 reached out to the sheriff’s office, which provided the following statement:

First and foremost, our thoughts remain with Sebastian Rogers. I want to assure the community that this investigation remains a top priority for the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.

We are aware of the community’s concerns. Please know that behind the scenes, a tremendous amount of work has been done and will continue. Some aspects of the investigation are not be visible to the public due to the sensitive nature of the case.

We continue to ask for the public’s help. If you know something — no matter how small it may seem — please come forward. Every tip matters.

Thank you for your continued support, patience, and care for Sebastian.

Reminding me of Harley Dilly, the boy who was finally found dead in a chimney of a derelict house.

Probably the same people sending the tips in.
They probably send it to LE, then to him. They might even say something like "I sent this to LE but they didn't follow up with me." Not uncommon.
Definitely possible I guess but those people would need to know how to get in touch and make a point to do so. My thought was LE sharing tips is one thing but doesn't mean they are going to share what they find out maybe.

So if a scenario like that, the car wouldn't be a crime scene though one would not think.

I just can't see a motive here unless either something was being done to her at the home or something was going on at the home they didn't want known.
I think you posted in the wrong thread.

This is a video of Sebastion having dinner the night he disappeared. His mother is looking all around the restaurant and hardly interacting with Sebastian at all. Very weird. Don't know if it has been posted before.

I don't see anything remarkable about the boy's "eating style", nor do I read anything into the mother looking around.
The Fmr FBI agent said there was "somebody looking at them, certainly not acting appropriate" and since that Court TV person had no follow-up question to that- only a "Sure" (lol)- it's left only my imagination what on earth the person was doing!

Well i think it's weird, (not his eating style as teenage boys do generally just shovel it down) but her looking all around for so long and so do people in the comments. She is not interacting with her son or even looking at him the whole time of the video. She also looks at her phone as if she is expecting something or someone. Its interesting to see the complete absence of any interaction with her son.

There is more video the interviewee says but that it is not her place to put it out ????? I don't get that but perhaps LE directed her not to.

I take it you mean that the fmr. FBI agent was directed not to say what the person was doing and that she may have told the Court TV person beforehand not to ask?
Well, I don't know why she didn't ask, I just noticed she didn't., that's all.
And surely I think you're also wondering what the person was doing in a restuarant that was characterized as "certainly inappropriate"...

Yes it is half a story but we may find out the other half at some point. The thing is that she is in there with him eating that day and that is the last day she saw him apparently, as he was not there the next morning. According to her. Yet she does not know exactly when he left. Eg. He could have gone up to bed straight after that meal but left instead and she would not have cared or noticed based on her behaviour in that restaurant when she was paying him no attention whatsoever. And presumably she did not check he was in bed when she went to bed, or we would have a better timeline on his actual disappearance. It just makes me mad how people treat their kids and are then so distraught when they go missing.
