Family describes missing 9-year-old girl as loving and kind, asks for any information
It's been 24 hours since 9-year-old C. S. was last seen at the Moreau Lake State Park.

A massive search is underway for the missing child from Greenfield and an Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning.

CBS 6's Emma Quinn spoke to C's aunt Jene today- she says the family is devastated by the situation and are praying for a safe return.

She described C as a loving and kind little girl. Gov. Hochul spoke to the family and said C was just nominated by her fourth grade class to be student council member.

What was supposed to be a fun fall weekend has turned into a nightmare for the family.

C's Aunt Jene Sena spoke on behalf of the family, saying they are praying for their little girl's safe return.

"That no tip is insignificant, so if anyone has any information at all, saw anything in the vicinity of the entrance of the Moreau Lake State Park or are camping here and have any information at all."
And at the entrance. An abductor would have a fast getaway. This poor family.

This sounds very ominous. What child leaves their bike?. So it sounds they are sure it was in fact an abduction. I read there were alot of people in the area.
A couple of the articles I read said the campground sites were booked full for the weekend.

Does Canada have the equivalent of Amber Alerts? If she was kidnapped, she could have been taken into Canada already. NCMEC and the FBI are hinting strongly at abduction.

The state park is apparently in upstate New York. Cuz would probably know a lot more about the general area and proximity to Canada.

It definitely does not sound good. And if you do leave your bike, you are around, went to explore, pick berries, etc but no sign of her. She is 9 not a clueless 3 year old who may wander off too far and fast. I wouldn't think. They know something that they are claiming abduction. Imo.

Has there been word of WHICH loop she was riding in / bike found in?
Also wondering if there was indication that she stopped suddenly (someone called to her or vehicle pulled out), crashed (someone offered to "help"), or parked neatly (perhaps to look at an animal or check out the lake). I know that info hasn't been stated, but I'm wondering.

It is Loop A. Seems to be fact.

The press conference said she was riding around loop A. She was riding with several other kids then wanted to do one more loop and she went by herself that time. When she didn't return in a few minutes, they went looking for her, found her bike and called authorities.

'We just want the nightmare to be over.' Family of missing 9-year-old girl asks public for help

The search for a missing 9-year-old girl believed to have been abducted from a state park in Saratoga County is well into its third day as law enforcement scours the area and the family asks the public for help.

Moreau Lake State Park, where C was last seen, remains closed "until further notice," according to its website. The 6,240-acre state park in Saratoga County is “mostly wild” and includes dense forests, pine stands and rocky ridges, according to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. There are more than 20 miles of hiking trails within the park. The camping area is near a 120-acre lake and includes five loops. The wooded campsites are described as "quiet and secluded," according to the park's website.

C's aunt Jené Sena told USA TODAY that the last few days have been a "nightmare" for her family.

C's mother and father have stayed at the campsite since Saturday to help police in their search. They are surrounded by friends and more than 30 family members, Jené Sena said.

Her husband, Patrick Sena, a firefighter with the Schenectady Fire Department, has searched for their niece since Saturday night, along with other relatives. He was out in the state park overnight Saturday night and well into Sunday evening following a 24-hour work shift.

"My husband couldn't walk this morning," Jené Sena said.

C is the middle child of three girls. Her father, David Sena, is a union pipe fitter, and her mother, Trisha, is a food service inspector for Stewart's Shops convenience stores. The family lives in Greenfield, a town of about 8,200 residents in Saratoga County, New York.

Tricia Sena told the Albany Times-Union that her daughter is "a good kid" who is "trusting."

"I just want my daughter back," she said through intense emotion.

Jené Sena described C as a kind, funny girl who's known for her dry humor and contagious smile.

"She is such a sweet girl," Jené Sena said. "A real sweetheart."

C's aunt urged the public to report tips to New York State Police.

"It's really important for people to stay vigilant, call in with tips and keep their eyes peeled for anybody suspicious and anybody that might fit her description," she said, adding: "Because at this point, so much time has gone by that they really could be anywhere."

Her family and friends will continue to search for C as long as they have to, said Jené Sena.

"We just want the nightmare to be over," she said.

C. S. is found alive, suspect in custody

Multiple law enforcement sources said 9-year-old C. S. has been found alive a suspect in her abduction is in custody.

The sources said the suspect, who allegedly has a sexual abuse criminal history, allegedly left a note at S's parents' house — possibly demanding some type of ransom in her disappearance.

The State Police issued a statement Monday evening confirming C. S. had been found and that more information would be released later.

:sigh:Loop A is the one furthest left. Not really feasible that she stopped to see the lake unless she left the loop.
If the campground really was full, then I'm astounded that no one saw anything. Especially that time of evening.
Watched a bit of Gray Hughes last night. I don't often watch him for a few reasons but he was only speculating of course but he was looking at maps and google images of the campground, etc. and he did point out how close the road runs with that loop on the one side. Speculated about someone lying in wait for ANY child, etc and taking her right to the road, etc. Also highlighted one campsite kind of also possible and so forth. He knows nothing of course, was just looking at the lay of the land initially and giving thoughts as any of us would do. BUT the road IS close.

I only listened to some minutes of his live, not all of it by any means.

Do we know where the bike was found? Not sure I heard. SOMEthing seems to have sent them in the direction of an abduction even though they are still searching the area, but they would do that with or without an abduction I guess.

I would have hope she was lost in the woods or something EXCEPT they seem to be saying abduction. It sounds like the campground would busy, how did someone get a hold of her AND keep her quiet...?

I can't imagine how sick and axniety ridden and in fear her parents are.

I would like to know that no one else they knew or were hanging around with or that she was riding with earlier was unaccounted for. I know we won't get that info most likely but just saying...

The Chippewa Falls, WI case, it was a cousin and he got her to take a walk in the woods off of her bike... I just keep thinking of that one for some reason. Probably because they talk of her riding with others that she "considered" her cousins. It is probably the word cousin that makes me think of the other case. I'm not saying it is anything like that but who knows... I also wonder if there was a reason she wanted to do one last ride alone, if someone convinced her to. It could be someone camping the same days or as Gray suggested an opportunist/stranger in waiting for such a chance.

I prefer to have hope that she just wandered off and got lost but the statements and hints in this one don't really give that hope.

OMG!

Hopefully she didn't get too traumatized and heals. Not liking that it was a person with sexual abuse history though.

I was working on my post, posted and then saw this. What awesome news! THANK GOD.

Left a note at their house? Okay, that does not sound like a stranger and in fact it is quite odd. Was it placed after the went camping or right after her abduction as you'd almost think LE would have been at the home or checking it, watching it once she was abducted... How would a stranger for instance know where they lived...

The article also said they were operating under the assumption or theory that the parents or C may have been intentionally targeted... I'm sure there is a reason for this.

Last night I had a thought that I hoped this situation would be like little Cleo in Australia. Snatched right out of her tent but found alive.
So glad C was found. I also read in that article that they released today they were leaning toward her being pulled into a car or into the woods.
It sounds like she will have a lot of family and loved ones supporting her in her return!
