Six women found dead in the Portland, Oregon area in 2023 *POI IN CUSTODY*

Six women have been found dead in less than three months in secluded, wooded areas in the Portland, Oregon, region, but law enforcement authorities said they have not found any evidence that the cases are linked.

The women's bodies were found within 100 miles of each other, the Portland Police Bureau said in a news release over the weekend. Police have not determined whether they were all homicide victims, but they were all under age 40.

Although news of the deaths was widely circulated on social media, the Portland Police Bureau said there was no reason to believe the deaths were connected. (more at link)

Yeah. They made it a point. And really, The similarities to me were too broad. But THEY would know more. Or SHOULD. Did they say that not to create panic?. To not tip off the POS they were onto him as far as seeing the killings related?. IDK.
No that will be their cover, the tip off or keeping the investigation quiet but they KNEW and this was damage control imo. Or a pathetic attempt at it. Soooo obvious.

It has become an epidemic! The offenders aren't going to say...No. No. I think I need to serve my full sentence. But thank you anyway. No! They are going to get out as soon as they can to offend again!!! And most likely at an escalated level. The dam parole boards are partners in creating more victims!
This has gone beyond parole boards imo. Wayyyyyyy beyond. And it isn't unusual and it isn't new.

And just to point out. He was granted early parole by Governor "Kate Brown". WTG KATE!!!!
She should be charged. Seriously. All of them. Criminally. There needs to be a law on the books for such. Won't happen.

What a generic name. Kate Brown. Is it her real one. Half joking.

I don't care how big or how many crimes are in a particular area or how typical murders are there. This was indicative of one killer at least with a handful of them, one general area, or several not too far apart, etc. NYC and its boroughs and you name it are huge too and they resisted Gilgo murders being connected or them being connected also to anything else. Well the Gilgo ones certainly were. Yet there are millions upon millions of people there. Portland? We don't or didn't have the facts they did and this was too uncanny to me. Time frame (in short order) and more. There was also a reason this came up and out of the blue, hint of one killer, not long before this news.

Just my opinion of course.

If I read it right in the short time I had, it sounds like he may have had connections of some sort to them all in which case not a serial killing thing of types or strangers but maybe revenge? Or did I take his being linked to all incorrectly and they meant it like by DNA or something else as in typical serial killer/strangers?

I remember when she let a bunch of them out and I don’t know of anyone who thought that was a good idea. I believe he was let out because he helped so hard on the fires that we had in 2020. Well, a lot of serial killers are gainfully employed! Look at the one they just caught in Long Island! It doesn’t mean anything.

Yes, that was her real name. I know people who met her and she’s very pleasant. But she was not a good governor and there was a big recall effort against her. It didn’t pass.

The fact that the governor let him go early, (which wasn’t that early in the long run, because he only had a year to go), and that law enforcement said no one had to worry, this case really makes me angry. They should have said they didn’t have any evidence of a serial killer, but to be on the lookout just in case. Good grief! Officials need to start caring about the people out there living their day-to-day lives. This world is way too dangerous than it needs to be!

Yeah public wasn't and isn't in danger. Nothing to see here. Move on folks.

He likely wasn't sentenced to long enough to begin with, most aren't.

This is still being played down and watch for it to go as quiet as it can repeatedly hoping people forget. That's my guess. People are also getting immune to such news I think that it hardly even strikes them or outrages any more. This is only going to get worse and has been steadily.

I was telling my son about it last night and he said “why haven’t I heard of this?” I haven’t listen to the news yet this morning, but I haven’t heard it on any main stream news so far.

Yes, it was on the news this morning. A lot of people are really angry that he was set free early. They also said there were a thousand others that were set free early. I’m not quite sure the number or their crimes.

The Department of Corrections has revealed that in 2019, Calhoun faced multiple charges, including three instances of unlawful use of a vehicle, assaulting a public safety officer, and a first-degree burglary. Court records from this period illustrate that Calhoun demonstrated resistance when a SWAT team arrived at his residence to apprehend him on standing warrants; he responded by choking a K9 unit and repeatedly assaulting an officer. He also served time from 2009 through 2011 in Baker County for fourth-degree assault.

Additional judicial documents indicate that Calhoun resided in SE Portland just the previous year, while in 2019, he lived in Wood Village and at times with his family in Troutdale. During this time, he worked as an independent car detailer. The same records reveal that he is a father to two teenagers and reportedly had a daily methamphetamine habit.

The above has all the current information that I've seen spread around here and there so far. Below is a link to the Political Lounge where we can discuss the pros and cons of government early release programs.

That's no surprise to me. News is a machine for agendas and run by those that have them. And lucky if any crime is covered more than a drop in a hat or if it gets a lot of attention and even then, not a lot on it. MSM is one thing but state or local news one is talking of their very governor, LE, etc. If lucky one may find one or two.

In Murdaugh that one area news source deserves kudos and taking on something that power from outside wanted shut down.

Saying it again, their blood and murders are also on the hands of those that released him. Assault, assault, assault. Not sure where the resisting arrest is. Choking a canine. And more. He proved right that he functions in society so well and should be released...

You know they just don't care. I think they are happy to let them out and figure they aren't going to kill one of their family members or show up at some campaign banquet or even rub elbows. These pols are happy to let the rest of society be destroyed, someone else's child, someone else's mother, friend, etc. They aren't going to come for them or theirs and they know it. These are gated lives that live in a far different world that are making this sh*t happen.

I kind of doubt most cops agree though. He assaulted cops but the powers that be don't care about that either. Many cops are disgusted from what I know of putting their efforts into arrests, getting enough evidence, etc. just to see a prosecutor or judge not do their part AND/OR NOWDAYS their release anyhow by politicians!

THEY ARE HOWEVER ELECTED, many of them and on rare occasion ENOUGH noise does get them worried. FOR a sheer moment.

Look at the sex toy, drugs, child, trans case and the city council woman who ran her car with her child in it into someone's yrard. Silent again now... That's what they want...

Getting off my soapbox before I go into more and then off in all directions lol.

5th homicide victim not connected to 4 dead Oregon women, Clark County Sheriff’s officials say

Clark County officials said Monday they have found no evidence tying its investigation of JoAnna Speaks’ death to the deaths of four Oregon women found within 100 miles of each other in the greater Portland area this year.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said it has been working with detectives from other jurisdictions involved in recent homicide cases, and deputies have been investigating the possibility that Speaks’ death could be connected to the other area cases. Her body was found April 8 at an abandoned property in Ridgefield, Washington, about 22 miles north of Portland.

No connection between woman found dead in Ridgefield, 4 killed in OregonUpdated 10 hours ago

Clark County detectives say they’re investigating but have not established any connection between the deaths of four Oregon women and a woman whose body was found in April in Ridgefield.

“Based on Joanna’s known location history, it seems possible that she was murdered in Oregon and placed on the abandoned house property,” the affidavit states. Another search warrant affidavit states investigators located a device that showed it was on the abandoned Ridgefield property at 12:38 a.m. on April 3. “The device is within the time frame of Joanna’s murder and the time on the property indicates a person of interest,” the affidavit states.

However, the search warrant affidavits do not list a suspect in Speaks’ death.

Just pulling this forward again. JoAnna Speaks was found in Washington state, and is "not connected" "at this time". Seems like they may have another suspect for her though.

Sounds like the Unidentified Female is still unidentified. Hard to establish a connection to a suspect if they don't know who she is.

If the LISK case and the Portland case had been solved two weeks apart you'd hear all about it and only it.

Unfortunately, they broke much too close together. The LISK case was covered nationally. They had a few 48 Hours episodes made about these killings. It's perfect for so many media formats, it sells.

I don't agree at all. The LISK case is well known, the OR case unheard of for most people and recent as well. And LISK only became known of to begin with due to constant pushing by Gilbert's family that they weren't looking for their daughter/sister, etc. And through the years, since then finding all these victims, it sure isn't news and cops who have kept bringing it back to public attention. It iis the families and then the public once they knew that kept the pressure on.

I don't think OR would have made a splash or much of one at al and they'll keep it as tamped down as they can.

On top of it, these are almost sounding like revenge killings or something on that order. Didn't he have ties to each victim? Or do I take that wrong?

I’m thankful I live in a county where the DA does everything he can to prosecute hardened criminals and keep them behind bars.

I haven’t read where he had ties to the victims yet. Also, he was arrested in Ontario which is on the other side of the state. I think that’s interesting.
