The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Gannon Stauch was believed to be a runaway after he left his home southeast of Colorado Springs between 3:15 and 4 p.m. on Monday. But as the week progressed, his disappearance was upgraded to a missing/endangered person case.

His stepmother said he left his home on foot to play at a friend’s house down the street on Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies and major crimes detectives had taken “extraordinary steps” to locate the boy, the sheriff’s office said. They were actively searching for evidence and taking witness statements, a sheriff’s office news release issued earlier this week read.

“He’s very young, it’s dark and cold outside and we want to bring Gannon to safety,” the sheriff’s said in a Facebook post earlier this week.

On Thursday afternoon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and other task force members, as well as Stauch’s parents, hosted a news conference to update the community on his disappearance, discuss the steps being taken in the investigation, and to notify people in the area that they are organizing volunteers to begin a community search effort in coming days.

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mitch Mahalko said the sheriff’s office received the investigation on Tuesday afternoon and started doing interviews and collecting video surveillance and talking to neighbors, working to collect new leads.

He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI’s team specializes in search and rescue and “will be a good partner” in the investigation, Mahalko said.

He said the investigation was active and that authorities were conducting interviews with witnesses and collecting evidence – exhausting every lead they receive.

Mahalko said investigators were looking at “persons of interest” in the case as people who might be able to give them additional information on Stauch’s whereabouts.

He declined to say where authorities had been searching but confirmed that investigators had been in contact with some trash companies in El Paso County and in the Lorson Ranch area.

Kirby stressed that people with tips should report them to their tip line – 719-520-6666 – and not on social media because any tips sent to the sheriff’s office on social media will not be considered.

Court now on a morning break.

The windows were open in the basement allegedly due to smoke, etc. from the candle fire. Harley saw Gannon in his bed. Letecia was with her. They said good night. She can't remember if Gannon answered. Her mom wanted them to go down to say good night and Harley says it wasn't like her to do so. It was cold in there.

Harley slept upstairs with her mom and Layna's room was upstairs as well. Gannon stayed in the cold basement.

They are going through text exchanges with her mom from this day forward several days. They are still on that day thus far. She gets texts at work about the fire and then she gets home after work probably 10:30 to 11:00 and what I just said is what she saw, etc...

Hmmm, I don't have an opinion yet, she doesn't seem to remember alot, but this was 3 years ago. Its shocking that T lied to her about her Dads cause of death, but on the other hand Leticia lies, period. The really interesting things are yet to come, I guess.
Yeah I'm still torn on her. I don't envy her that's for sure. She is there though and isn't or doesn't seem to be lying about anything big so far on behalf of her mom. Like you say the big info is yet to come. I'm not sure but I have a feeling we are maybe going to get an admission that at a point in time she started realizing or putting things together OR outright knew something...

She DID tell of a few different stories already from her mom if I recall correctly so said that which isn't helpful to her mom...

I think I missed the part about her dad. What was that? I have had it on and don't like to rewind when it is a live so I''ve missed some due to my waiting on an apartment inspection etc. today and getting ready for work.

I tried to find it but couldn't 🙈, pretty much at the beginning of her testimony. Leticia had told Harley that her Dad Chance was killed by people breaking into his home to rob him, but Harley found out recently that he had died of OD.

Thank you yet again. I didn't expect you to go look for it. I probably did miss it as I only started watching after I saw your post here that she was testifying. Just wanted to know what the lie was.

Sounds like T, always having to make things bigger, better, exaggerating or lying. I'd say it was to cover shame (of the OD) but the woman doesn't seem to have any...

I can't stand her but I guess I can understand a weeeeee bit not wanting her daughter to think her dad OD'd or was nothing but a drug addict, etc.

I can't even imagine having this monster for a mother. Maybe I was wrong about Harley. Maybe she didn't know because her mom is always acting weird.
I don't really like her behavior in the hike video and in her own videos but she probably is just being a typical youth of that age, hard to say.

So far it hasn't gone too deep but she I think is mostly telling the truth. So far anyhow... It can't be easy. She seems far more real here than in the other videos. Hard times.

I was on the fence with Harley because she has kept a very low profile; however, after today I'm 100% positive she knew nothing about what Letecia was up to. Harley was manipulated by Letecia and fearful in questioning anything her 'Mom' said because she would get backhanded across her face otherwise. Letecia's sister cut off helping Harley in any way once she stopped defending Letecia.

She may have said I don't know a lot but what she did recall was important. If Al & Letecia were arguing Letecia would bring Harley in to the argument to have someone on her side. When she didn't want to be in Alaska she claimed she was sexually assaulted hence the transfer to Colorado. In 2019 after an argument Letecia had with Al she told Harley to pack her stuff and they left. Only made it to Kansas before Letecia & Al worked things out and they returned.

Harley was interviewed extensively by the FBI after Gannon's body was found and if they witnessed any deceit she would be in jail, imo.

This young woman did very well testifying and I hope she completes her nursing degree in the year and a half she has left of school and is able to hold her head high. ❤️

also, Letecia was still flipping off the cameras today, I took a couple screen shots; I hope the Judge reviews the footage for himself
