So I didn't take a lot of time but I did some googling on the suitcase just to see if this particular one pops up for sale today. It didn't. I mean the picture is classic Las Vegas but I'm thinking it is older, not bought new today but I could be wrong. I did a general search and then searched Amazon as arguably Amazon sells everything by someone or another. Nothing, just other styles/pics relating to Vegas. On the other hand it looks in good condition and newer.

I'm not sure why anyone would want one. I guess if you loved a destination and went there often maybe... It certainly is something someone would notice missing...

Maybe thrift stores should be checked to see if they had anything like that for sale...

It may certainly be an attempt to throw off the investigation but someone still had to have one or find it somewhere...

I know this much, if anyone I knew traveled one time with such a suitcase or came to my home with one to stay, I'd remember it always.

If this was an owned suitcase and used at all prior, someone would recognize it and know the person who had one...

Of course finding that out is a needle in a haystack unless the right person somewhere sees this suitcase so it should be shared as widely as possible.

I have seen a few of these exact ones on the auction site I look at occasionally. Most of the auction items are Amazon returns, so possibly it was sold from there.

Interesting. I didn't spend a lot of time but didn't come up with one like it on Amazon but I didn't look for long. Maybe it will lead to something for LE. But then they may have more too, they haven't released what he was wearing or anything else as I recall....

Identity of child found in suitcase in Washington County still unknown

Indiana State Police are still searching for firsthand information that can lead to the identification of a 5-year-old boy whose body was found in a colorful, Las Vegas-themed suitcase in the woods of Washington County two weeks ago.

ISP Sgt. Carey Huls told WAVE News there have been around 500 calls into their national tip line. Huls said most of the calls involve information ISP is already aware of, including reported missing children, and people advising police how to conduct their investigation.

Huls said ISP investigators need information that cannot be searched online or seen on the news.

“We don’t want those tips about, ‘Have you thought about using this or trying this?’” Huls said. “We want that firsthand knowledge. Somebody knows this young man, somebody has knowledge (if) he’s not home, he’s not where he’s supposed to be, he’s not in school, and that’s the information we’re really looking for.”

this is one of those cases where I sure am tempted to donate to them doing the same thing they have been doing in the cold case doe cases with the dna and finding the families. This is so frustrating and sad that he had nobody in his daily life that has missed him enough to inquire at least about him - extended family and friends that might have noticed not seeing him for a while now.

I just have to believe this one is early enough in that someone just hasn't realized yet and is thinking this child is with another parent or something or grandparents who love him believe a lie they are being told as to where he is so far... This wasn't an "old" body but fairly fresh so this child was alive somewhere not a week before his remains were found or so it sounds...

If he was abducted off the street or out of his yard by a stranger, there would be a recent missing child/Amber Alert in some state and there doesn't seem to be... It certainly could be a foster or adopted situation, etc. or just as likely the other most common which is parental/relation.

I also hope that LE is on and has more than we know or is obtaining it. Someone either drove from another area to dump this child here or there is some connection to the area and the child was from the surrounding area. Again if he was abducted from a family who would report him missing, I think that would be matched by now....

I thought they would have a quicker answer but I'm not yet thinking it will go cold or I sure hope not. I haven't had a lot of time but I can say this, this isn't out there meaning I haven't seen this case covered the few other places I watch or go, mainly YT for the most part. Haven't seen any headlines to speak of. Etc.

I hope and pray loved ones just haven't realized yet. They think their grandson is somewhere safe and he was dumped here and they have no clue he is even missing for instance...

Well, Court TV is spending it's days covering the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial.

I so know NOTHING about that. I finally get some down time and look to go watch something or catch up on some crime news on the crimes I follow and I see more of the Depp thing everywhere. The other night I caught a live caller on Scott's show/Crime Talk going on and on about how she is lying etc. I care less mostly about Hollywood kind of cases like that. Yup. I hate to say it but I agree with you Big Turd.

but in all seriousness it makes me mad that news cares more about Johnny and Amber than this poor child. I didn't realize when I posted in response to you it was in this thread but nevertheless it is a very good point. this boy is not out there that I've seen not only on news but not on YT and more. someone just hasn't realized yet he is missing. :(

I just ran into a several day old video on this. It reminded me of it. If they want answers to this, they need to keep this boy in the news if at all possible.

I sincerely hope they are looking at boys currently in foster care, by doing personal home visits and actually seeing and speaking to each African-American boy in the age range that is in foster care, to rule them out as the victim. Hopefully they are looking at kids in KY as well.

Years ago, maybe 5 -10 years, TJMaxx , Marshall's, and Ross sold new similar suitcases. IIRC, there were several different designs: Las Vegas, Paris, London, Chicago , and one of the cities in Germany , either Bonn or Stuttgart. I think they were priced around $60-100, depending on the size, with the largest suitcases being the most expensive.
This particular suitcase could have been purchased at one of those stores or at a thrift store.

My first thought was that this little boy might be King Walker , the 3 year old boy who went missing with his 22 year old aunt Diamond Bynum in 2015from Gary,IN.

Diamond has special needs and is apparently mentally disabled, according to her MP report. King was 3 when he disappeared, he would fit the age range of the UID.

So I don't understand how they can say there are no missing Indiana boys that fit the UID.

He had only died a few days before they found him.

I don't think that's what they meant. There are several boys that have missing persons reports that could be a match.
However, they already know about those. They can search the databases just as well as we can. They're just asking for tips about boys that may NOT already be in the system as missing.

this one was 3ish and a very recent death, so that's why King wouldn't be a match.
