I've always thought CB did that to Sandra Costilla.... I think he is soley responsible for all of themmm..another thing that gets me is the 2 girls Bittrolff was convicted for..... in Manorville..... IF Bittrolff did NOT do it then CB definitely did.... I found out that they used the Y-STR dna technique in Bittrolff's case first finding his brother then once comparing his DNA getting what i THINK i read was a full profile.... if it's not a full profile could it be possible that CB and Bittrolff are related through their dads?? Wild theory i know but I started wondering that last night while watching some stuff on these cases

My understanding re the DNA evidence against Bitroff is that a familial DNA search led to Bitroff's brother which was then matched to Bitroff.
(Needless to say, the DNA profile in Costilla's case could be matched to Heuermann only after he was identified as a suspect.)

I blame Burke and Spota for not solving sooner..... The Gilgo taskforce had more done in 4-6 weeks than they all did 12-13 years prior.... they just didn't care

I think they did care, they just didn't exhaust the lead on the vehicle in Taylor's case.
Without that lead and until then, I don't see that there was anywhere to go.

I always thought Peter Hackett was a WHACK JOB and for whatever reason inserted himself into the investigation by calling Shannan's mom, Mari and blatantly lying to her.... She could have sued him..... I think he's honestly just a lunatic but really had no connection to the case

I agree that Hackett was an intriguing individual but like any other resident in that community including the John, had absolutely nothing to do with happened to Gilbert.

And no one we know of was killed in 2011. Remains continued to be discovered along Ocean PKWY in 2011 but none of those victims were killed on 2011.

Shannon Gilbert was finally found in Dec 2011 but we don't know how or when she died. She was found not far from Charles Peter Hackett's home.

We also don't know if CB continued stalking and killing after then, but found a different stalking and disposal area. We know his vehicle went to SC where he owned a property. I do find it hard to believe he just stopped after so many years.

I don't know how you know that. He told Marie Gilbert he had a home for wayward girls. How did he get Marie's phone number?

I think it was Amber Costello where they had the vehicle description on file and hadn't followed it up.

I think they had the Karen Vergata info too as it was a cop who picked her up from jail.

i believe he literally looked her up by landline and contacted her that way.... creepy huh?

There were three bent LE right at the top. Spota was Burke's superior. McPartland was the Chief of the GCB (Government Corruption Board) . Read the article i posted at post 3033 - it has all the details of their prosecutions. The whole of Suffolk Police did what these three told them to do.

I am probably going to have to be reminded of this. Not managing much lately at all.

I have been through a lot of it though through the yrs.

In this post where you mention smaller is better, well Cherries Doe who I mentioned a few pages back was a bigger girl, dismembered and found in a suitcase IIRC not terribly far from Tanya but on the shoreline def in Nassai'u County..... could she be a CB victim and possibly learned there that smaller petite women were easier, hence this woman's bigger size?

okay, i am trying to get my bearings here as to where I was even at in this thread. smaller is better was in his manifesto thingy. when was the Doe mentioned versus when the manifesto was last dated. or planning guide, whatever one wants to call it? also, I don't think they found all copies of it or all times accessed so kind of hard to say. a lot of it if I recall seemed like he was learning from mistakes, maybe found a bigger victim too hard to dispose of or fought back or some such. just sharing what i recall in case it helps trigger something for you or anyone. i've not been able to do a ton for links past few days either and will never catch up if i do lol. Not sure I will anyhow.

So YES, maybe possible--he seemed to be learning. Another thing in it I think was get more sleep first so get more "play time" which sickly I'm sure meant torture probably.

My instinct honestly is he did all too, it really is, although I allow for maybe someone may not have been.

the dna thought seems a bit wild and i also worry if we say such things lol that the D will try to use it... they supposedly have pretty solid dna here BUT they are fightingi it of course, the D, and saying it is new in NY and yada yada.

I know there were at least two SKs operating around there if we count Bitroff, but I honestly thought it was maybe even 3 or more but maybe that's just because some thought the victims had diff killers and so on.

I've always thought it kind of strange there seem to be no answers somewhat on CB's dad. Of course in a lot of cases, we don't get a ton of the personal info and that's often what I want to know...

Recently somewhere above, forget from who, we did get supposedly he was abused, etc., etc., stayed in that house whole life, yada, yada. Never ever though have I heard how his dad died or how his mom supported the kids after that. Those are the kinds of things I want to know...

Yeah just said in last post, I agree, it is where my instinct goes with it. From what we know of SKs and profiling over years, it seems most of them want to outfox LE, they like the notorious name they get, and sometimes they name themselves.... He was reading profilers and such and I think really wanted maybe to be the best ever, changed MO, probably killed in other areas, made a list of how to get better and so on. He didn't want to be that right on the profile.... Imo anyhow.

Yes it's a hard one to forgive. They imo should be in prison for life and I am SERIOUS. I hate corruption and when it affects JUSTICE I really get mad, and I don't like politics playing in it EITHER.

I'm torn on it myself. What was it something about wayward home for girls I think? It just bothers me that every person, the killer of these women, LE, and you name it think all of these victims were just sex worker and not important, or drug addicts, or both, and not important including Shannon and he was just ANOTHER one.

I agree he's a whack job, all of them that treated this case and these girls like that are imo.

Completely agree and that's what the article upthread says. Once they were off the case and others were brought in, it was solved.

Yes, let's not forget Harrison's part in all this. I was just going to remind of that when I saw this post. Tierney is a DA and they may be kept abreast of evidence but they don't charge until LE gets them what they feel enough to charge and go forward.

Well there's no victims found from 2012 on. I don't believe he stopped either, but where and who are his victims from 2012 onwards? Another state?

That would be my guess.

Maybe another city but more likely another state.

He alleged did these like when Asa and kids were mostly out of town, I think like perhaps re his bro and mom when they were in different states he had the excuse then he traveled to go see his family members perhaps.... Vegas, Alaska?

I'm sorry, but I don't think this was a "normal" marriage and I have my suspicions about her.... Not necessarily that she was there or murdered, unsure, but that Vergata story along, if true, I mean really.... One kid together and that was that. Swinging supposedly. CB into prostitutes.... It's just too much for me to believe she was totally clueless to any of these things...

I think it at least turned into a marriage of convenience at some point if it did not even start out like that, at minimum. Did she ever work, do we even know? Not that both people necessarily have to, don't get me wrong, I don't mean it that way, but as they say that house was the worst one in the neighborhood and in my mind most women if they could would want to fix things up... Just all VERY ODD imo. Daughter never launched...

that's what I wonder other states, other counties.... and /OR just more on the beach in a different stretch..... or all 3?? I know no more bodies have been found (I'd be afraid to search after the other searches.... one body leads to another 10) But I haven't sat down yet and looked at how many more women are missing from 1990(ish) to say 2022-2023 that are just missing never found

I've repeatedly said on this thread that there are going to be charges (if they continue) or at least knowledge of more far past all of our lifetimes and his probably. That's my opinion of him or guess.

I think but not sure that I said this not long ago but I think it bears repeating it was WEIRD how daughters of other SKs rushed right to ASA and then Ugly FAce (Happy, refuse to call him by that name is all) starts writing CB, etc. Did that all come just out of the blue......? It was freaking odd--just as odd as Mrs. CB right in the hands of an atty saving the assets, etc. We talk of like Burke and Spota but let's keep that one in mind too.... Downright ODD.

I think LE know more about the cop and the woman who visited with Karen Vergata than they are disclosing right now. It says upthread that they held off giving out the identification of Karen until after CB was arrested. So I think it likely they know more about Cherries, Asian Doe and Gilbert too perhaps but are just not releasing more for now.

Very, very possible. They seemed to know about Tanya and Tatiana in 2024 if I recall the articles right and I think we had hints they knew but we didn't hear such til 1/4 of the way through 2025 as to the names.

No but he clearly knew somehow that he could get away with it. He had a cop bring his hooker girlfriend +1 (Vergata) so we know there is an LE link somewhere.

Very true. I kind of dislike how they won't confirm or deny the hooker gf/cop/Vergata story or even part of it. Being careful and taking time with charges is one thing, but like you say people suspect an LE link somewhere.

I've said I just can't go down the hole again (not right now anyhow) on Burke and so on, I've been down it SOOOOO many times. And not just here, I mean I've watched a lot of YT on it over the years and far more.

I don't disagree with you so much as just can't do all the stuff and articles and so on again. It bothers me he worked for the "city". And just like Daybell over time some things kind of get tamped down.... Don't know if anyone recalls but he had some connection I don't totally recall to a children's home or some such thing, he was looking up blonde children I think on a computer or phone, was on his planning thing or something too perhaps, he looked up Asian something... All these victims except for Tatiana were adults but there are TONS of things to point to he probably did have child victims too, quite POSSIBLY or had an interest, and perhaps at least SA if not murder.

Just mentioning that and what I recall as food for thought as I forget these days more than I used to and thought I'd bring that forward. I dont get to researching or reading all the last few days or links but been a busy thread, so anyone who wants to look at such, just some food for thought.
