A few hairs doesn't seem like a lot to me but no way would/did he plant it!
I remember studying the dates, that the dates surely were somehow revealing, and it was speculated that either he was alone and on vacation or he was alone because his family was.

They mention it so much that it seems significant. Other married serial killers never left so much of their wife's hair around. As far as we know.

That's the first I've heard "camouflage". Well, I figured that the burlap worked to conceal the bodies but how he came by it is what I've always wanted to know. I've always thought of it's potential as a good lead, you know, that to trace it's origin might be revealing.
Just saw this, easy to miss some if busy thread with simultaneous posts.

Yeah the LE guy or whoever he is said it in the PC I t hink when answering questions. I actually did not get to see it all yet but saw a fair amount but not the last parts.

There was also much speculation he lived or worked elsewhere but visited LI or knew it or had a summer place there but worked in the city, etc... One article said they lievd right across the street from where they all were! In a crappy home next to nicer homes and yet he owned a well known business.

I don't know if I believe whatever article said he sobbed. Read another that he was pretty unemotional, at least in court. Maybe he sobbed on arrest as his next tryst was disrupted. They decided to move in now for some reason it sounded like rather than gather more, etc. They didn't elaborate but that's what I suspect... They were monitoring this guy...

I think the mention it so much because who else for a guy would have her hair on him AND live in or work in both areas being looked at AND have the right Chevy AND more. It is just another tie to him.

BUT anything is possible. I find the hair on his belt the oddest. It makes me wonder though more about his sexual relationship with her, etc. YUCK, not going any further on that thought. But I suspect that is enough to say choking, bondage, etc. BUT could indicate an involvement too.

I'm not going to attack but I find it very difficult to believe she knew nothing, did not connect dates and more. At minimum any husband and wife, the wife would come to find porn, no explanation for where he was, know of prostitutes or suspect such at some point, etc.

One can predict already what a defense attorney for him may do re more of her hairs than his. Would be an unusual approach but...

I honestly don't think he planted them, I think he'd be bent on leaving no evidence that connected him to it or to someone he lived with. BUT who knows, he may have just been after some different hair to take them in another direction, confuse, etc.

(They did enough patting on the back.)
Well you know, of course, it's secondary transfer. Yeah, his wife must be among those whose hair sheds a lot and he isn't.
Does anyone think his hair looks a bit odd in some of the pics? Is it just me? Or is it just dye and a bad cut?

His hair particularly may not have been head hair. Sorry but now that the thought jumped into my mind I am having trouble erasing it. Considering his sexually deviant searches, etc. I don't think he took them not to have sex and I think it was confirmed he was still actively seeing prostitutes, etc.

Yeah, the press conference is the first time I've heard any description of the burlap and it's still not clear to me what it looks like.
Actually, what's always confused me is whether it was sheets of burlap or burlap bags. I've heard/read it both ways.

Yes, there is a totally different aspect of it was sheets or sacks. Landscapers use it from the bolt for erosion control or packaging root balls and sacks are often feeds and seeds.

I have too. The guy in the PC addressed it and said over the years it basically has taken on a life of its own, the speculation on it. I am going to guess it's not bags if used for hunting but some special thing for hunters but not necessarily hard to find? I've never heard of such but then I'm no hunter, sure live in hunting states and grew up around many but they weren't duck hunters, etc.

I dont' think the burlap broke the case in any way. But then we don't know all either.

I find the 92 guns or permits for 92 not necessarily normal in a serial killer case. It brings all sorts of thoughts but the most sensible one is he was obsessed with anything that he wanted did it overboard. Porn. Prostitutes. Guns. Pizza. Attempt at a bit of lightness with the pizza. He was a big baby whose mom probably never made him eat his crusts on things and it ended up a big part of his downfall and capture!

Yeah it is my least favorite part of press conferences. I go both ways about it here. They took a lot of criticism through the years but I also think some of it was deserved. They finally did the right thing assembling this task force but it could have been done long ago.. Not sure with tech though and DNA whether the results would have been the same BUT they very likely could have gotten the wife's cell phone records if this kind of thing had been done all along before the company got rid of them per their retention policy... Interesting the wife again... My thoughts are boomeranging and not all of them are welcome ones...

But Heuermann's attorney, Michael J. Brown, told reporters that the accusations against his client are "extremely circumstantial in nature," and he said Heuermann has denied any involvement.

Riiiiight. DNA is circumstantial. I hate defense attorneys. OF COURSE HE DENIES IT!!! It isn't an episode of "Perry Mason". FFS!!!!

All he knowxs thus far imo is what his client told him or what we know. There ain't been no time for him to access discovery.

Good job. You have his attorney's name which I never noticed all day or knew of but it's been kind of a off day for me. More than that actually but I did wonder who he would hire, etc. or who would represent him.

Did you just hear of the arrest or have other things going on?

It seemed to me that all of the killings were not the same perpetrator. Which is very frightening. But the way the victims were disposed of were different from others. That just doesn't fit with a serial killers pattern. Unless something disturbs that. In this, I saw no reason for a perpetrator to do that. Different modes of killing too. A serial killer usually kills by one method they find they like that works well for them. Of course that isn't 100% of the time. Some do change or include different methods for different reasons. IMO this guy didn't kill all of the victims found.
