Ya know at least cases are getting discussed, don't all have to agree is my opinion. So long as we all get that of course or feel that way.

And busy thread, could not believe how long it took me to catch up.

Okay and believe me I haven't kept up with it but sometimes even when hitting a paywall, it is an ad thing, what browser one is on, what country one is in and so on. Certainly no great techy person but was mentioning as a thought is all of how if you wanted to access, what it might be, etc.

Hey I'm doing few of any links lately, and having to pick and choose if I do at all.

I did have testimony on today but one can hear that, etc. Fell asleep during it too. Go figure. Not this case but Read of course.

Before I skimmed through some of Hackett's depo, I'd forgot and I don't think you know or remember but when Gilbert's mother found out she was missing, she actually disconnected her phone! I can now recall one of Gilbert's sisters having talked about that somewhere...
Anyway, in his depo, Hackett said the boyfriend called him on May 6th and asked him to talk to the mother about reconnecting it.

Okay...

I've said above I think, I've been through about all in this case at one time or another and it gets hard to recall sometimes all of it.

What I mean is saw Hackett's depo, etc. at some point and this sounds familiar. Not sure I ever thought of it then but why would she disconnect her phone....? Money? Shannon's family or some at least fought to get her case solved and tried to keep it from NOT being ignored. Only other thing I can think of is thought they were protecting her if it had not been found and things on it maybe she thought she wouldn't want known or some darned thing.

Shutting a phone off does not take all off of it though.

I just woke up, forgive, trying to wrap my head around this a bit, definitely not fully awake.

Re the boyfriend, one of Gilbert's sister's said he called looking for her- that he hadn't seen her for two days, which would have been May 3rd. The boyfriend said he'd tried to her those two days but her phone was off.
It was later on that same day that Alex and Pak went to Oak Beach and first met / spoke with Hackett (who met them at the gate- it's a gated community- and from there invited them into his home.

As I recall, she didn't want anyone to find it and use it / run up the bill.
 
I wish I was in more of a place that I could go back over things but I just can't lately. The one sister was a real advocate for Shannon, not the one that killed the mother, the other if I recall Memory is not the freshest, please forgive but I've taken in a lot on this one over many years.

Gated communities--DISTINCT BELL ringing on that one.

What time is it there? You are up pretty early too no?

Okay and it was back when too, not like today... I recall it seemed to me that Shannon sometimes helped family out monetarily--I forget--but think mom worked hard too no? I know they weren't wealthy, and so on...

SAme time then. I woke up at 4:30, a big part of me wanted to go back to sleep but I didn't, bprobably should have, my problem cat is being one huge pain in the arse. It's dark of course, and he's climbing on my shoulders, my head, (all of which hurt these days) and now when I told him ten times to stop he's trying to get on the stove and so on. At least when I sleep he behaves OR I don't know it.

Half joke it is like having a wayward toddler I swear. He needs someone a lot younger than me I think at times. He can be a handful. Boy I could say more about him... I pushed him away gently like ten times, a bit more push after five, then he jumps to the other side of the table where I try to keep them off of, jumps onto the stove and I have to get him off that and now he is over scratching some piece of furniture or door frame.

Not sure if you read in other threads but I've talked of him at times through the yrs. It's like having a darned toddler sometimes. I'm really having some issues these days and the last thing is him tripping me, jumping on me, and you name it. And no, he is not like kitten age.

Anyhow, slowly waking up, have some caffeine--I recall th phone thing now that you mention it I believe... To bring back to case. Just trying to wrap head on why... But yeah in those days someone could run a bill up on a phone TOTALLY....

So someone rings LE saying someone is trying to kill them and others ring about the incident too yet LE did nothing. I just don't get it.

Apart from her allegations, I don't know much about her.
But I imagine it'd be very difficult to accept financial help knowing where the money came from.

Yup. And they were ORDERED to release that 911 call by a was it fed judge??? Was by a judge, and that bad regime still wouldn't do it. Politics, and bad people imo.

It is power and NYC area. And yeah, hiding your own stuff.

And she was just a prostitute ya know.

I've heard retired NYPD who buy the findings on Gilbert. And then half the public or more will say she was on drugs obviously and so on....

Not how I see it at all.

Well, the police hadn't gone to Oak Beach in response to Gilbert's call because Gilbert couldn't tell them where she was. (Have you heard the call?)
I think it was Colletti and Brennan's calls LE responded to, which are the only calls I know of.
She'd run away from Pak twice and he gave up and left before LE arrived. LE wasn't informed of her contact with Brewer until the 3rd when he and Alex and Pak went to the Jersey City Police Dept. (I think it was or it was some other P.D.) to report her as missing.

Anyway, it isn't as though nobody responed or looked, it's that nobody knew where she went.

Yeah, memory a bit foggy these days but mom did not probably like what she was doing but I recall something (about a birthday gift and a few other things). I don't know. However, family did fight for Shannon. Especially I believe the younger sister. Mom did too.

I recall some yrs after I think it was maybe mom on like second floor of I believe Hackett's home seeing the spot her daughter was found...

I don't fall for all in all things--but my sister and I for instance were talking the other day and haven't in some time, no issues, just life and no time, and how we have instincts but also have stupidly went against them at times.... How we know our own bodies and have instincts and so on.... Man they were good conversations.

I'll NEVER believe Shannon's death was not or didn't have something else going on. Made a bit of a jump there from last paragraph but nope.

She may have been an escort but the whole thing, NO.

Yeah, I don't know, but I know her mom fought for her.

I just can't go back into all the things right now. Just another sex worker right...

Not at you of course but just instinct, that call, corrupt people in charge at time is not some paranoid person on drugs. She may have been given some but her instincts were her life was in danger and something more was going on.

I am wandering some but point is, the older we all get, and realize as my sister and I were talking and such, and not even about crime, she does not follow it, going against instinct.

And I don't know why either, but men don't have the same instincts as women (although all don't seem to have them). I've ignored mine at times for self but they kick in with others--and there was something major going on that night.

Jmo.

And I don't believe for one moment, and never will, that Shannon's death had nothing else contributing, etc.
