A girl, 1, is missing after her mum was found beaten to death inside their family home.

Police said little Vanessa Morales was last seen on November 29 at a relative’s house.

And then just three days later her mum Christine Holloway was found bludgeoned to death.

The 43-year-old was discovered by police during a “wellness check”.

She was found to have died of blunt force trauma at the property in Anosonia, Connecticut.

Police are now desperately searching for little Vanessa amid fears she has been snatched by her mum’s killer.

Holloway family focuses on search for missing girl after guilty verdict in Morales trial​

Jose Morales was found guilty of the murder of his then-girlfriend Christine Holloway, and now the focus has shifted to the family's missing daughter, Vanessa Morales.

She hasn’t been seen for five years, and Ansonia police continue to investigate her disappearance.

Guilty on all counts. As that verdict was read in a Milford courtroom Tuesday, Morales kept his eyes closed, learning that he'd been convicted of murdering Holloway in 2019 in her home on Myrtle Avenue in Ansonia.

Holloway’s family left the courtroom in tears. Now, they say their focus will be on finding the couple’s daughter Vanessa whose been missing since the killing.

In a statement, Holloway’s sister-in-law Jodi Jacobellis said, “Now that this portion of our lives is done, we now can focus more on bringing home Vanessa to us again. I know we never stopped looking for Vanessa.”

Morales was a suspect in Vanessa’s disappearance, but was never charged.

Former FBI special agent and University of New Haven professor Ken Gray said missing children cases that span over a few years can be challenging to solve.

“As time goes on, there are less and less pieces of evidence that will lead you to a solution to the case,” Gray said.

Morales took the stand in his trial, claiming intruders killed Holloway and took Vanessa, saying he was high on PCP at the time.

That testimony leads experts to believe that Morales won’t be offered a lesser sentence to provide information on her whereabouts.

“I think he just did not plant any memories. He was in a hallucinized state. He just was not in reality,” Jim Bergenn, an attorney at Shipman and Goodwin, said.

Gray said while it appears the trail to find Vanessa has gone cold for now, he said there’s still hope for her family, citing previous cases where children have been found years later, such as the kidnapping of Jaycee Dugard who was found after being missing for more than 18 years.

“There might be hope there, and that is still being held out that she would be found,” Gray said.

Ansonia police said Vanessa's disappearance remains an active investigation and urge anyone with information to contact them.

Unusual he took stand, most of course don't, claims high on PCP but yet he remembers intruders killed Holloway but experts say he was in a hallucinized state and didn't plant memories no idea where daughter is. I don't buy a bit of that. Either you planted memories or you didn't. Just so ideal that he recalls intruders though, just not where he drove and dumped his daughter.

Jose Morales gets maximum 65-year sentence in CT mom's murder as daughter Vanessa remains missing​

A judge Monday sentenced Jose Morales, convicted in April of killing Christine Holloway in her Ansonia home in 2019, to serve 65 years in prison for the brutal 2019 murder of the 40-year-old mother and botched cleanup of the crime scene.

While the judge handed down the maximum sentence possible, looming over the question of Morales' sentencing Monday at state Superior Court in Milford was the unresolved question of what happened to Vanessa Morales, the couple's daughter, who was 14 months old and vanished when her mother was killed and has not been seen since.

"What was done to my niece Christine Holloway is unforgivable and disgusting, and that monster continues to lie," Annd Rondonski said. "Where is Vanessa? How can someone be so cruel?"

"He deserves to die in jail and rot in hell," Holloway's brother, Steven, said after reading a statement on behalf of their mother, Deborah.

"I ask that the maximum sentence be given," the letter said. "I have already received the maximum sentence by not knowing where Vanessa is."

Murphy repeatedly said Monday that the sentence imposed Monday related only to the charges of which Morales was convicted — murder and tampering with evidence, for which he faced 25 to 65 years — but Holloway's family still is seeking answers regarding Vanessa's whereabouts.

Murphy's courtroom was filled with nearly 20 people wearing T-shirts with Christine Holloway's photo on the front and Vanessa's on the back.

Rondonski said in an interview with CT Insider before the sentencing that the family has hopes Vanessa Morales is alive and that people are searching for her.

Search continues for Vanessa Morales 6 years after mother’s murder​

Tuesday marked six years of Ansonia police searching for Vanessa Morales, who disappeared following the murder of her mother Christine Holloway.

Earlier this year, Vanessa’s father Jose Morales was found guilty of murder and tampering with evidence in connection to Holloway’s death.

In July, he was handed 65 years in prison for the charges.

Morales has not been charged in Vanessa’s disappearance.

On Tuesday, Ansonia police said they continue to search for Vanessa, despite few leads.

“Unfortunately, we find ourselves in the same position we were in when the case began in 2019, Vanessa is missing and we do not know what happened to her,” police said in a social media post.
