Trials COMING UP that i know of.

I am trying to work out which are the next trials coming up. We have the following for Idaho but no date yet for LISK.

Any other dates we know of?

Kohberger's trial is set to begin on August 11 and run through November 7. Jury selection is to begin on July 30.

LISK- no date set yet.
Kouri RIchins is supposed to be, don't remember exactly when. Donna Adelson was supposed to but I think that may have been pushed off a bit.

Thanks for the info. I followed the Kohberger case during the early days but not recently. I didn't know that his trial is coming up this summer. I just may follow it.
Nate Eaton is supposedly going to cover it and be there. Most us all like him. He usually does nightlies too in case you can't see a day of testimony and so on. He tweets from the courtroom rapidly if allowed.

Most of what has went on in that case since early days is defense trying everything they an to get evidence dismissed, trial delayed, you name it. Mostly all to no avail. It did get moved.

There also was a recent leak because things were said in a Dateline episode that should not have been known. Just not happy about that. Said he may even appoint a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of it. Defense tried to get a delay again over that but wasn't big enough really I don't think to affect too much. Judge doesn't put up with much b.s. I like him. NOt allowing delays and so on, he wants it going off on time for various reasons.

Okay, now I am trying to recall if it was moved or they are bringing in out of area jurors. It is one or the other.

The judge who helped a defendant escape is likely going to be suspended permanently without pay. Her salary is/was over $200k pa.

I just read in the box below this happened 7 years ago. When it was reported, they made it sound like it was recent. So for 7 years she has still been receiving her pay? That's over $1.4m!!!!!!

I think it was moved and is scheduled for August. I think I put the details on the thread. I think it is going to be in Boise.

She violated federal law, however, that goes on all of the time these days with no effects.

Boston, no politics there right?
eop
i'm keeping it that basic as hopefully that much is allowed.

And yes, she should not have been making that salary for all those years. And people wonder why the littler guy suffers.

Jmo of course.

Is that Ada County? For some reason I have that in my head but know Boise is right too. Maybe I am thinking of Vallow something though, not sure.

Nate hasn't been on it a lot so far yet that I know of. Hopefully he stops on Vallow and starts to get on it.

I’ve been following Brian Entin since the start of the college kids’ murders. I’m gonna have to figure out how to squeeze in Nate’s nightly recap.

I like Brian most of the time and find him a good reporter. And so I am just being honest when I say he did turn me of a time or two though. He got some lashback I think and I haven't seen such in awhile, not that I watch him regularly to know. I think two of the cases were Summer Wells and Petito both of which went crazy train and he jumped on such imo. Don't quote me on the cases, just think those were a few of the ones.

Maybe the station expected I don't know. Nate seems to me lately just a bit more to be chasing things too but maybe I just have caught more glimpses of it. I wasn't a real fI an of the jurors in Charles' trial being released with no protection and chased down. One could hear both his voice and Justin's, we know them well. I know it is their job and channels want ratings I tell myself that. I though would never not watch them if they had a juror interview a day or week later even if not right away. I've never seen either go down with the crazy stuff though.

Good for Entin for covering this one, certainly not knocking that. Mostly now court things come out so I mostly watch Scott and it's mostly on filings and new news. Trial time though I will likely watch Nate. I've never seen anyone cover a trial by Tweet or nightly in the same way Nate does.

And I'm not saying Entin isn't good, he is, just wasn't happy with him a few times. I have that happen with many though. Both of those cases went off the wall nuts.

To your point, yeah trying to watch them all is hard. I actually manage a lot of both Justin and Nate on the last Vallow trials. I did not used to look for Justin being Nate always pops up for me and I watch him but boy Justin and is boss or producer or whoever it is do a pretty darned good show too.

7 suspects identified in a $100M jewelry heist near Los Angeles

Seven people have been identified and charged with stalking an armored truck to a rural freeway rest stop north of Los Angeles and stealing $100 million worth of diamonds, emeralds and more in what is believed to be the largest jewelry heist in U.S. history, federal authorities announced Tuesday.

The heist unfolded in July 2022 after the suspects scouted the armored truck leaving an international jewelry show near San Francisco with 73 bags of jewelry, according to the indictment.

Two of the seven suspects have been arrested and were due in federal court in Los Angeles on Tuesday, court records showed. Four of them remained at-large Tuesday, while one of the suspects is serving prison time in Arizona for an unrelated burglary and was expected to appear in court in Los Angeles in the coming weeks.

That's a large amount. Our biggest/most famous was in Nov '83 - the Brinks Mat gold bars and diamonds heist from a vault near Heathrow airport. £26m but £88m in today's values.

Is this a crime? He cuffed her but she was later let go. She should sue IMO. It was just a prang.

I didn't watch the video, because handcuffing outside of an arrest, or bedroom antics, is illegal. He should be fired.

No it isn't. They handcuff people ask the time that aren't arrested. They "detain" them temporarily very often.

Authorities confirm more than two dozen missing children found during special operation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFOX/WJAX/CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) — Authorities confirmed dozens of missing children were located in what was described as the first special operation of its kind in the State of Florida.
A multi-day operation in Northeast Florida has successfully located more than two dozen missing children, aged seven to 17, who had been missing for periods ranging from ten days to over a year. The operation was a collaborative effort involving more than 30 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Kevin Branzetti, CEO of the National Child Protection Taskforce, emphasized the importance of listening to and helping the children once they are found.
"Finding the children is the first stage, but somebody has to listen to them and help them," he told reporters with WFOX.

Branzetti highlighted the significance of partnerships with collaborating agencies in not only recovering the children but also providing them with resources for a more secure future.
"What's occurring here isn't just protecting these kids. It's saving generations to come," he said when speaking to WJAX.
This operation marked the first deployment of its kind in Florida. Al Rollins from the National Child Protection Taskforce noted the emotional impact on the children.

"In some cases, these kids were waiting for someone to show that they cared about them and show that they were looking for them," he told the station.
Detectives have been able to locate children who had been missing for months. Ron Lendvay of the Clay County Sheriff's Office explained the strategy behind the operation.
"Those detectives that are in the other room that are working these cases, brought their most difficult cases here, the ones they weren't able to solve to try to bring the collective knowledge of everybody that's here," he said when speaking to WFOX. "We all know that when kids run away, they're either running to something or they're running from something. And what the intercept taskforce does is we go after those to give them something to run to or pull them away from their families."
