The California Highway Patrol issued an AMBER Alert for a 13-year-old girl believed to be in the company of an adult male.

According to the alert, Raine Gonzales was last seen in Brawley on December 10, near I and 18th streets, in Imperial County. She was seen “leaving her apartment complex,” the FBI said, according to Patch.

She stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs around 115 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, grey sweatpants, a backpack, and a dark-colored jacket.

Police say she is with Lorenzo Guerrero, 43, although the relationship between the pair is unclear. He’s described as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He has a bald head, black eyes and was last seen wearing jeans, a hat, and a jersey with the number “44” on it.

The pair could be traveling in a silver 2007 Mercedes C230 with a California license plate, 5ZFS158. The FBI said that the vehicle belongs to the victim’s family.

Educated guess he at least is an illegal. Took her family's car so she or someone gave him or accessed the keys. He's in his 40s and most likely a pervert or pimping/trafficking. She is a juvenile.

Come on political dumbarses stop the inflow of bad and make it a bit easier for the good ones to come legally to live here.

An '07 Mercedes sedan... I would think car will be found fairly quickly... But maybe not it is Cali... She is tall and slim. 5'9 and under 120 most definitely and he is shorter. Just saying that too would make them an easier "couple" to spot. And I mean that as in looking like Dad daughter or uncle niece because he is in 40s and she is 13 and that is tall for 13. So hoping there is a quick catch of this pervert or criminal and a safe return of this child.

The FBI continues to search for a 13-year-old California girl who hasn’t been seen in over a week.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Raine Gonzales was last seen in Brawley on December 10, near I and 18th streets, in Imperial County. She was seen “leaving her apartment complex,” the FBI said, according to Patch.

Police say she is with Lorenzo Guerrero, 43, although the relationship between the pair is unclear. They could be traveling in a silver 2007 Mercedes C230 with a California license plate, 5ZFS158. The vehicle reportedly belongs to the victim’s family.

The FBI said that Guerrero might have driven the victim into Mexico, adding that investigators are now offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to their whereabouts.

“Due to the proximity of the missing child’s residence to the U.S.- Mexico border, we are asking for the public’s help in both the U.S. and Mexico,” FBI spokesperson Kira Boyd said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “It is our hope that offering a reward will help us locate Raine Gonzales quicker.”

LE sure keeps saying the relationship is unclear. I am betting it isn't to them and they know what it is. I'm not saying I know what it is but I would bet they do. Heck for all we know he could be an uncle, a family friend, a pimp, some illegal that was staying there and snatched her and the family car out of the blue, her father even. Who knows. It's kidnapping even if she went willingly of course, or unwillingly. Were the keys in the car? Did she know where they were and gave them to him? Or did he know where they were? I doubt the keys were in the car in an apartment complex. No one would leave keys in a car at a complex.

Were any family members home or just she alone and he broke in/barged in? Or were he and her together there and family members home or gone? Who the heck knows but they sure aren't giving answers.

All that matters though is that she is found safe.

So they are thinking get the news out in both countries... Can he and she cross the border so easily? In a US stolen car with kidnapped minor child? Probably. That alone is a problem that could have been fixed but wasn't and is beyond fixing now or ever most likely. And welcome to the crime level today.

IMPERIAL COUNTY – Raine Gonzalez, the 13-year-old minor from Brawley who was kidnapped last week, has been located safe and sound.

As of Tuesday evening, December 19, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) San Diego Office contacted the family of Gonzalez and let them know the teen was found safe in Mexico, according to a duo of press releases from San Diego and local law enforcement send on Wednesday, December 20. By 8:43 p.m. on Tuesday evening the California Highway Patrol closed the Amber Alert for Raine Gonzalez, per San Diego Fox 5. Local CHP confirmed Wednesday that the Amber Alert had already been closed by their agency.


“On December 19, 2023, Raine Gonzalez was safely located with the assistance of the Government of Mexico,” the FBI San Diego Field Office press release states. “Lorenzo Guerrero was also located and transferred into the custody of the FBI. He is now facing a federal kidnapping charge in the Southern District of California,” it reads.

The Brawley Police Department (BPD) – who were the original lead investigation agency on the case as the abduction occurred in Brawley sometime on Sunday, December 10 – also sent out a press release to media on Wednesday, December 19, stating that they turned the case over to the FBI.

“On Monday, December 11, 2023, at approximately 1823 hours [6:23 p.m.], the Brawley Police Department received notification regarding a runaway juvenile,” the BPD release reads. “As the case evolved, and information was being disseminated from allied agencies, the case was turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a child abduction case.”

“On December 19, 2023, Raine Gonzalez was safely located by Mexican authorities in collaboration with the FBI,” the BPD release reads. “The alleged kidnapper, Lorenzo Guerrero, was also located and is now in FBI’s custody.”

Both agencies thanked the public and their allied law enforcement partners “for their commitment to reunifying Raine and her family,” per the BPD release. “The FBI wishes to thank the public, various law enforcement partners, and the Government of Mexico for their overwhelming support and assistance in this matter,” the FBI San Diego release reads.

“Yeah that's basically all we know, we haven't even gotten an update to see if she's already in the United States yet or not,” Raine’s aunt, Roxanne Guizar, told IVP on Wednesday.


Guizar said she was informed by the FBI at 6:30 p.m. on December 19 that Raine was found safe in Mexico.

“All glory to God,” Guizar said. “That’s the power of prayer.”

Guerrero, 44, was the subject of a week-long international manhunt before the teenager was found safe on Tuesday in Tecate, Mexico.

Guerrero's detention hearing had to be rescheduled to Dec. 26. His defense attorney, Patricia Ojeda, told the judge her client was hospitalized after suffering chest pain from an existing heart condition.

Oh LOOK another one with a record not serving what he should and not being sentenced approrpiately either. We will also never hear if he is an illegal or if any are. Older man with a teenaged girl who is not her father, must have just been not looked into at the border AND a stolen car not registered to him, tell me did they both have passports on them? Of course, many don't know this but you don't need one to get into Mexico, you need them because OUR country insisted you need them to get back into the states. Something tells me though that would have went just fine too if they'd wanted to come back.

We will also likely never know who this man was to her or her family. it's pretty clear she went willingly not that a 13 year old can make that decision, it is still kidnapping, but I trust all know what I mean. I'd like to know too how he had access to the car, did she give him the keys or who? I'd say they had better be finding some resources to help her because if falling for this or into this and being groomed probably by him, she is only 13 and it will only get worse. And I seroiusly doubt there hasn't already been SA even before they left.

I care less about his convenient heart condition and I doubt it. They had evidence of this how? From a Mexican or US doctor? Even IF he has one I care less.
