The FBI is providing assistance in the disappearance of 45-year-old Nichole Bronowski, an Akron Children's Hospital nurse who has been missing for nearly a week.

Federal agents are also assisting authorities in Belmont County, where Bronowski's mother was killed on Thanksgiving, the victim of a homicide, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

Bronowski was last seen on Nov. 25 around 6:30 p.m. in Cuyahoga Falls. It's unknown what vehicle she may be traveling in, according to a news release.

According to a police report, Bronowski's ex-husband reported her missing on Thanksgiving, stating she hasn't been seen or heard from, and her whereabouts were unknown.

Cuyahoga Falls police would not answer questions about the case on Tuesday, including whether there is any connection between Bronowski's disappearance and her mother's death.

A news conference scheduled to take place in Belmont County Tuesday morning was abruptly canceled.

Bronowski's mother, 69-year-old Norma Matko, was killed at her home in Barnesville, about 115 miles southeast of Cuyahoga Falls. Her cause of death has not been released.

Local authorities and the FBI are searching for a nurse from Cuyahoga Falls who went missing "under suspicious circumstances" after her mother was discovered dead in east central Ohio.

Thoue Nichole Bronowski, 45, was last seen at 6:35 p.m. Nov. 25, according to Cuyahoga Falls police. Police said it's unknown what vehicle she may be traveling in.

Strange. What an odd statement they don't know "what vehicle she is traveling in". It makes it sound as if she left on her own but they don't know which vehicle she took, although that would make no sense. The other way to take it is that they know she is in a vehicle but not which one which still sounds odd.

Also strange they had a news conference scheduled and then canceled it. Perhaps they developed a lead?

So the mother was killed on Thanksgiving and this woman was reported missing by her ex-husband on Thanksgiving?? Yet she was last seen on the 25th, the day after Thanksgiving... EDITING TO ADD I HAVE THAT WRONG--WAS DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE.

If not connected at all, it certainly is a strange coincidence.

That makes much more sense. Do you know what I did? Since it was December 1st and I did not realize it, I hit the calendar on my laptop and looked at the 25th which said Friday but I was in the month of December, not November. Sorry about that!

So someone was shot and killed during execution of a warrant and we have travel from Ohio to Louisiana.

I am glad she is safe. Unclear what happened then so far but clearly her disappearance and her mother's murder are connected since she is now safe and a man dead relating to her mother's murder.

Exactly. I could see a domestic situation, abusive bf, etc. kills the mom to force daughter to go with him. Was daughter at moms for Thanksgiving? On the other hand, the pair could have done something to mom and then taken off together...

Her ex husband reported her missing... I don't see a perp calling attention to someone missing if they have the person but who knows... I do wonder though how he knew she was missing...

Not accusing anyone, just posing possibilities. There sure is no hint in the news thus far. I am leaning towards she was perhaps a hostage because the man ended up dead but she is safe... Of course that means nothing either, he may have resisted and she did not... A missing Cuyahoga Falls woman has been found safe after being kidnapped by the man believed to have murdered her mother.

The alleged suspect in both the murder and kidnapping was identified as 47-year-old James Edward Hawley also known as Ahmad Ben David of Cleveland, Ohio.

I wonder if there was some sort of previous violence here or a restraining order and whether this was a recent break-up. Her ex-husband reported her missing on the holiday of Thanksgiving. I wonder how you would be so sure so fast she was missing the very same day unless he knew of issues maybe she was having? We don't even know I don't think that she was at her mother's but I assume so... Yet she was reported missing in her area... Still confused on some points. Not sure we will ever know as there will be no charges.

Relieved she is okay but sad and tragic her mother is dead.

He took the daughter first in Cuyahoga Falls and they went to her mother's. Did what he did to the mother after some time and he took mother's car and headed with Nichole. At a point, he abandoned that car, set it on fire and used another...

He then posts he wants to kill some cops... All while on the run with the daughter taken...

Sounds like this allowed federal charges and a warrant which allowed him to be tracked federally and interstate to also help save her and find him...

It is kind of bittersweet isnt it? He is evil and he is gone which is good imo. No watching justice play out though or him behind bars BUT as you say they don't have to go through that at least or years of the slow process or worry about his sentence...
