Amish teen goes missing after church event in Lancaster County: Police
Police in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania are searching for an Amish teen who did not return home from a church event.

"We don't know specifically that there was any foul play involved at this point in time," East Lampeter Township Police Lt. Matthew Hess said.

Police said the family of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos reported her missing Monday, after she didn't return to her family's home in the rural village of Bird-in-Hand following the church event the day before.

"There was no indications that she intentionally was leaving, meaning no one is giving us any of that information," Hess said.

On Monday afternoon, dozens of agencies teamed up blocking off roads, giving Amish residents rides to and from staging areas. Community members signed up at the local fire department to search fields, barns and buildings.

Considering he was in prison for how long, he didn't learn much or how to plot well. But then why would he from anyone who ended up in prison anyhow as they screwed up apparently as well if they were caught... Smh.

if she is passed, which looks likely, I pray her family finds her and can bring her home to rest.

Rescue teams to search for Amish woman Linda Stoltzfoos near Welsh Mountain this weekend

A few hundred search-and-rescue experts and several K-9s will scour the southern part of Welsh Mountain Saturday for signs of the missing Amish woman Linda Stoltzfoos, authorities said.

Authorities are not releasing the search’s exact time and location because they do not want uninvited visitors to show up. They are not looking for volunteers, according to Brett Hambright, spokesman for the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

Middle Creek Search and Rescue is leading the effort, with help from law enforcement, Hambright said.

Man suspected of kidnapping Amish woman Linda Stoltzfoos pleads not guilty

The Lancaster County man who police believe kidnapped Linda Stoltzfoos on Father’s Day pleaded not guilty earlier this month to the charges against him, court records show.

According to court documents, Smoker waived his formal arraignment hearing on Aug. 13, thereby pleading not guilty to kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.

Smoker hasn’t revealed where Stoltzfoos might be despite what authorities believe is a line of evidence linking him to the 18-year-old. He remains in Lancaster County Prison.

Siding with prosecutors, Magisterial District Judge Denise Commins ruled there is enough evidence to move the case to trial. It’s unclear when Smoker’s next court appearance will be, since his Friday arraignment is now canceled.

Stoltzfoos is still missing. Search and rescue teams searched for her Saturday for nearly 12 hours in the Welsh Mountain area, with no results. ATVs, dogs, horses and drones have been used to look for

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 717-299-7650, or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Man charged with Linda Stoltzfoos' kidnapping repeatedly texted brother after her disappearance: search warrant

The man charged with kidnapping Linda Stoltzfoos was repeatedly texting with his brother just after the Amish teen went missing nearly three months ago, according to recently unsealed court documents.

In a search warrant application to examine Justo Smoker's LG smartphone, East Lampeter Township police Detective Chris Jones said records he obtained showed that Smoker texted and sent multimedia messages to his brother, Victor Smoker, 15 times between about 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on June 21.

Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen about 12:40 p.m. that day, according to authorities. She was walking to her family's home on Beechdale Road in Upper Leacock Township after church.

In the application for the search warrant, Jones wrote that the time of the texts "would be directly after Linda Stoltzfoos was kidnapped."

Lancaster County Chief Public Defender Christopher Tallarico, who is representing Smoker, declined comment Thursday.

Victor Smoker has not been charged. On Thursday, a woman who answered the phone number listed as his in the search warrant application said a word or two in Spanish and hung up.

Besides Justo Smoker's smartphone, investigators obtained search warrants for his apartment, car and a rental storage unit.

The warrants were obtained on July 10, the day Smoker was arrested, and sealed for 60 days.

In asking that the warrants be sealed, Jones wrote that revealing their details would jeopardize the investigation.

In the applications, Jones wrote that investigators were looking for evidence such as Stoltzfoos' bonnet and clothing, blood, hair, fingerprints and other DNA evidence.

Jones wrote in the search warrant for Smoker's phone that data from it could provide a timeline of events before and after Stoltzfoos' kidnapping.

It could not immediately be determined what, if anything, had been found based on the warrants.

The Smoker brothers were convicted of a string of robberies in August 2006.

Justo was released in February 2019 after serving 12 1/2 to 30 years in prison. Victor was released in 2016.

Authorities search for missing Amish teen Linda Stoltzfoos on 4 month anniversary of her disappearance

Wednesday marked 4 months since police 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos was kidnapped as she was walking home from church in Lancaster County.

“We are still actively investigating this case,” Lieutenant Matthew Hess with the East Lampeter Township Police Department said. “We don’t have Smoker providing details in the case. It’s leaving us to do the investigative leg work to try and figure out what occurred and what happened.”

Hess said police conducted another search for Stoltzfoos on Wednesday and he added that finding Stoltzfoos remains a priority.

“We are hoping to find her,” he told ABC 27 News. “We are committed to continuing that investigation until she is found.”

Police are still looking for any witnesses who may have seen Stoltzfoos or Smoker on or after the day of the abduction, June 21. Anonymous tips can be submitted via CrimeWatch.

There is not much new here maybe a tidbit or two. I am not sure I knew she was barefoot. I also am unsure if I knew they had from their investigation an area they are searching that they say is hard to search, etc. I sure wish they would find her and I also hope they have enough on this man for what he is charged with.
