Police seem to be no closer to finding 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan than they were when this story began months ago.

Since that time, the story has gained international attention as it’s taken twists and turns involving a purported cult, dead spouses, delusions of divinity and preparing for the end of the world. Despite all the angles, and the ever-growing number of people related to the case, the facts remain essentially the same as when it was first announced.

The two children remain missing and the parents, Lori (Vallow) Daybell, and her new husband, Chad Daybell, refuse to disclose their whereabouts to police. Both have been named persons of interest in the disappearance of the children. Law enforcement is also investigating the deaths of the Daybells’ previous respective spouses, Charles Vallow and Tammy Daybell, though neither Chad nor Lori have been named suspects in those cases.

Written timeline of events

• April 3, 2018 - Tylee Ryan's father, Joseph Ryan, dies. Death ruled heart attack.
• December 2018 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow make first appearance on Preparing a People podcast.
• February 2019 - Charles Vallow files for divorce from Lori, claiming she viewed herself as a god preparing for the second coming, and she would kill him if he got in her way.
• February - April 2019 - Lori disappears for nearly two months, leaving her children with others.
• June 2019 - Lori's niece demands a divorce from her husband, who says she shares similar beliefs to her aunt.
• July 11, 2019 - Charles Vallow shot and killed by Lori's brother Alex Cox. Shooting initially ruled self-defense.
• August 2019 - Lori moves to Rexburg, Idaho with kids
• September 3, 2019 - Joshua "JJ" Vallow enrolled in school
• September 23, 2019 - JJ last attended school
• September 24, 2019 - Lori unenrolls JJ from school, saying she would be homeschooling him.
• September 2019 - Tylee also seen in September, but it's unclear when and where (she had graduated early)
• October 2, 2019 - Lori's niece's ex-husband was shot at, missing his head by inches. Shooter was driving a vehicle registered to Charles Vallow.
• October 9, 2019 - Tammy Daybell, Chad's wife, called 911 and said a masked man shot at her with a paintball gun.
• October 19, 2019 - Tammy Daybell dies, death is ruled natural
• October 25, 2019 - Tylee, or someone using her phone, texts a friend
• Late October / Early November 2019 - Chad Daybell & Lori Vallow get married
• November 26, 2019 - Welfare check requested for JJ at the request of extended family - police are told he is in Arizona with family, but he is not
• November 27, 2019 - Police return to serve a search warrant, finding the Daybell's gone
• December 12, 2019 - Lori's brother, who had shot her ex-husband, dies mysteriously in Arizona
• December 20, 2019 - Search for JJ and Tylee goes public
• December 30, 2019 - LE says Lori knows where her children are but will not cooperate
• January 25, 2020 - Chad & Lori are located in Hawaii, served with a notice that she must produce the children within 5 days
• January 30, 2020 - Lori fails to produce JJ and Tylee

Makes sense, might be the reason. I thought it might have to do with availability and logistics. It is a huge convention and takes a lot of rooms and halls, etc. It was in Vegas I think two years ago but couldn't tell you the month but thought it was towards fall.

Yeah, flights too. Vegas has so many flights in from just about everywhere in the US and they run constantly. I could see it on the Olympics too although I'm not up on that.

It never ends does it. Nate was notified last week about supposed letters of Chad Daybell, he did not run with it as wanted it verified they were his. Now that has been done.

Supposedly daughter Emma contacted The Sun and said she created a website and X account I think where she is posting his letters from prison.

No ulterior motive there I'm sure....

It's the last thing on this video, about 20 or so minutes in.

I am seeing red. I hadn't listened to the letters yet when I posted the above but now I have heard a few. I though these might be letters to Emma but NO, they are to the public telling is side/his lies he didn''t get to tell at trial. Well he could HAVE taken the stand. I think they need to shut this down that he can do this to the public from death row. He HAD the option of testifying so now, tough sh*t I say.

Nate covered about 3 letters, not sure how many are out. He even got mad reading them a couple of times saying something he said was proven otherwise, etc.

Toadface goes on about he is the same man he always was, peaceloving, loving, calm, gentle. Some are my words but same gist he gave. Kind of covers their life, an so on. He seems to e doing a progression, each letter from where he left off the last time.

Says he didn't get to tell lhis side at trial, so is now. Sure when he can't be cross examined. he COULD have taken the stand.

Lori has even finally did interviews where she CAN be questioned, Chad has made it so he can talk but no one can ask him anything...

It will be interesting to see what he says about Lori. Will he claim she sucked him in but he still really loved Tammy? Will he claim Alex did it or she and Alex did?

I think he did say he doesnt' have some of the answers he wants even today so he'll probably play dumb for sure... Will he claim he didn't know the kids were on his property?

I watched Hidden True Crime this morning where she went into more detail and covered more than Nate had. She also covered some of people's comments. One comment said Tammy was only going through menopause and he decided to get a newer model (lori). They may have been two different comments, can't recall but that was the gist along with how he was body shaming her.

I don't have words even for him and his ridiculous and stupid daughter. I'm sure he is telling the same story he told his kids and he has to stick to it AND I wonder if Emma isn't so dumb that she even thought if the rest of the world heard his story that we would all see he is innocent. Stupid and ridiculous are the words that keep coming to me. Not the worst words but she is. She can't see that we all can see the truth and she CAN'T.

Both he and Lori now have said the deaths are/were tragedies. Grrrr.

Imo aso he is thinking he will get followers/cult members. He is setting himself up as again someone who had visions and was at a place higher with God than others. The church was wrong, he says he still considers himself a member because even though they ex-communicated him, they did it wrong. He didn't get to give his side, etc. So I guess that makes him higher than the leaders in the church, calling them out for doing it wrong and apparently he has the power to say he is not ex-communicated even though he is and the church did ex-communicate him.

It also ticks me off I think he said he had visits with family members. Since WHEN do death row inmates get visits??? I thought they didn't?

Also he should not be allowed to do this.

And I honestly think Emma was a big part of this idea...

I said it before and will again, Emma and all of them should be miserable with shame for turning on their mother, not a one has stood up for justice for her.

I know how you feel. I want to ignore him. And I certainly won't go to X although the temptation to make a nasty remark is there. However, I don't want to not know what he is saying and so I'll watch Nate, etc. He didn't exactly run with it either.
